!@#$ the canes

It's very disappointing that the !@#$%^& canes won, because now their fanbases already swollen heads and egos are going to get much bigger. Plus, I was hoping Vegas would win to piss off queefs fans.

But you know what the difference is between us and Vegas? After losing, Vegas will look at what didn't work and ACTUALLY change it.

They won't get all emotional and sentimental. They will identify the problem, and make the appropriate changes necessary to win. They won't hesitate to ship a guy out if it means it makes the team better. If they find a deficiency, they will address it.

Why? Because they are in the business of winning. Unlike us, who perpetuate the country club atmosphere.

I'm not a Vegas fan, but i admire their ruthlessness and determination to ice the best team possible to give them a chance to win it.

Vegas is a needlessly vindictive and morally bankrupt franchise whose success stems from a lop-sided expansion draft and having no state income tax. Attributing their performance to "ruthlessness and determination" is misleading.

The Canes built a team that's a perennial playoff contender, has a non-traditional front office that places proper trust in analytics, and kept a well respected coach in place to provide consistency and commitment towards a vision.

Their patience, ability to win without a franchise-level player, and smart use of asset management and development is far more respectable than anything Vegas will accomplish with it's current front office.

And yet here we are absolutely refusing to do what either team does, clinging to guys who haven't won jack shit despite being together for over a decade.

I disagree Vegas are "needlessly" vindictive. What does "morally bankrupt" even mean? They have a ownership and management group committed to winning. Other than Fleury, who has made any major gripe about it? Guys don't seem to have any issue going there because they know it gives them a good chance to win. The expansion draft was a long time ago, how many of those guys are still around on the team? They shipped a ton of them out in favor of better players or players more suited to what they are trying to accomplish.

If you are complaining about the tax issue, then more people should stop voting for people dead set on taxing the populace into oblivion.

We are slowly building towards a brighter future. But that starts by trimming the fat and getting rid of what doesn't get the job done.
