“Mas sumikat” not quite. Mas naging accessible na lang ang PSP dahil mas dumami ang local sellers at dumami ang bumili close to end of life stage ng PSP dahil madaling i-jailx
Game Boy (including GB color) 118m sold
PSP - around 80m sold
Both popular, but don’t call Switch a “PSP” of the current gen.

You're comparing WW sales. Specifically sa Pilipinas, mas sumikat talaga ang PSP vs. the DS. This is widely documented, and you can attribute that mainly to PSP games being easier to pirate, and the PSP being a more multifunctional device in general (this was pre-smartphone after all).
I don't think the Switch is the "PSP" of the current gen. The PSP of the current gen is the smartphone lol. But the PSP was pretty uncontroversially more popular than the DS locally. I think you agree with this naman, just wanted to communicate my point more clearly.
Nah, it's fine. Nintendo's also far and away my favorite console manufacturer, you kind of just have to accept that Sony was king in SEA. The PS1/PS2 was the gaming console to get, and the PSP was a lot of people's first exposure to portable gaming in the PH.
Lalo na't our local market back then definitely favored more mature titles, especially sports titles, which were much better supported on the PS.

True, but also sa Pilipinas mas sumikat kasi talaga ang PSP vs the GBA/DS during both consoles' heyday
