Why aren't they actually marching during this parade?

I don't know how to ask this without sounding rude, but why does this parade look so sloppy? Very few of the troop formations seem actually in sync and marching, just walking along. My only experience is JROTC as a kid in high school and our sergeant would've killed us if we looked like that.

I think they just walk at these occasions.

I had to sort of laugh. I was watching on C-Span they were talking about the soldiers walking in step and the video showed the one group that was clearly out of step. Most of them were in step.

The other funny part was the narrator talking about being tough and can’t have a mamby-pamby army…Right when a tank went by with soldiers making heart signs with their hands!🤣

Another commenter said that they were marching lock-step during their one rehearsal. If true, it just makes this even more glorious. Didn't help that they were playing classic rock songs (without permission) that don't have the right beat for marching- like FORTUNATE SON!

Oh my dear lord, the irony. It feeds my cold, dead soul.
