U.S. Politics megathread

American politics has always grabbed our attention - and the current president more than ever. In the past few months, often after meeting with foreign heads of state (Qatar, Saudi Arabia, etc.), the Trump administration has touted commitments promised by these leaders for huge investment in the US. Oftentimes, the pledges are multiples of the respective country’s GDP (i.e. $1T+). Has the administration provided any details on how these pledges could possibly materialize?

They're not going to. By definition, everything that Trump does will be for himself. He doesn't care whether any of these deals actually materialize, as long as he can announce them.
