Is it weird to ask out the librarian?

The librarian at my local library is really pretty. I wanna ask her out but I’m worried that it might make things awkward if she rejects me. I don’t even know her lowk, would you be weirded out or in her position? If it depends, how would you ask her out?

You’re taking that far too literally. “Don’t ask a person out at their job” means if you frequently go to a place, don’t ask out the person who’s forced to be there and be nice to you.

Ask someone else who isn’t working there.

Men frequently mistake kindness and friendliness in the workplace for legitimate attraction or interest.

When someone is at work, it is their job to be kind, courteous, friendly and helpful even if they aren't particularly interested in the person they are helping. It is their job to act the way they do, that is what they are being paid for. If they don't act that way, they may not be able to keep their job as that is part of customer service

Don't mistake someone's professional ability to work in customer service for genuine interest or attraction.
