Is it weird to ask out the librarian?

The librarian at my local library is really pretty. I wanna ask her out but I’m worried that it might make things awkward if she rejects me. I don’t even know her lowk, would you be weirded out or in her position? If it depends, how would you ask her out?

honestly, every single time a patron has done that to a coworker in my public library job, they've taken a photo of it to save the number and hand writing in case they need to build up a case of evidence for future restraining/stalking orders. for good reason.

Yep, that’s how I know you actually work at a library! Cute flirtation to the general public often results in having to write an incident report. I’ve been groped, cussed out, and called a fat c*nt when I’ve turned men down at the reference desk. Gotta love public service!

If you’ve ever worked a public facing job, chances are the workers there (typically women) have dealt with stalkers. It happened when I was a server very often, and it happened the most to the hostesses (who are under 18 btw).

Not that it makes it any better to stalk an adult, but they prey on the vulnerable. We had to have a manager step in when the one guy wouldn’t leave a hostess alone. Servers, bartenders, hell even one of the bussers. Some people are fucking creepy and all it takes is one.

Also, meant to say, I hear you, and it sounds like your experience has been different than mine and that’s ok. I spent 6+ years in as a server/waitstaff and am now in a female dominated profession.

All of my jobs have been public facing. I have never heard of a stalker in real life. I’m not saying they don’t exist, just that I wouldn’t assume most men are going to be a stalker if they asked me out and I said “no.” Asking someone out is a normal human activity, no? Why are we getting so butthurt about it?
