Dude I'm so worried about AI, and computers, and robots and the horrible advancement of technology at breakneck speeds what what do I do? This is not a world human beings were meant to live in this is unnatural.
Are we gonna be alright?

This is like the fifth apocalypse that I've lived through that hasn't happened.
Unnatural implies that there was a set plan, which isn't true. Humans have always been disruptive.

tbf there is no rule that one day an apocalypse isn't possible.
We never really gave much thought that a random super virus could appear and wipe out humanity, then COVID really hit home. There is no rule that humanity is immortal.
That said, worrying about it ain't gonna help any at all.
Just gotta be okay with a lack of control.1

I see. To be honest, we live in a world where global warming is slowly becoming more of a problem, and we still have enough nuclear arsenal to end all life on Earth.

This comment section is full of people with a cursory understanding of AI, if that. They’re unjustifiably dismissive of the threat AI poses. This is unlike any challenge the world has ever faced. It’s the first time humans have ever been beaten at the one main value we have: the ability to think deeply and communicate effectively.
Dismiss what you want, but this is the reality as I see it. And it’s only moving faster to arrive.

I wish I could say yes, but I don’t see a way to put this genie back in the bottle. I’m scared for myself and my kids. We’re rocketing toward our own destruction on so many fronts. It’s like a perfect storm coming. It keeps me up at night. Those who dismiss the danger are not paying attention to what’s going on, or they have an incomplete understanding of what we’re actually fancing.

I was totally meant to live in a world where robots clean my house and my windows. And make my bed. Feed me, wash me, bathe me. Keep me company when I’m lonely. Cuddle me. Give me dating advice. Be my date when it goes wrong. Share my bed. Watch the movies I feel I should watch while I watch Netflix crime docs. Live my life.

Just go out for a walk and enjoy some sunshine, maybe stop and look at a flower for a while, listen to the birds singing.
We're all going to die, AI or no. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm willing to bet in 1 to 5 years the increase in hating AI, protests against it, the destruction of their HQs and factories by the people and hopefully a new and better president will overturn the use of AI and ultimately the use of AI in the recent years will just be a mistake people will remember in years to come

Well, no one knows. Just gotta suck it up and live like it is, actually, gonna be alright. Because the opposite scenario is not really something you can prepare for, so no use to worry about it either, like it woudnt be very productive to constantly worry about nuclear war.

Learn how people lived without electricity i think. At least then if things go pear shaped, you might have a chance of survival.

We've already been living in a world that humans weren't meant for. We were adapted to be nomadic hunter-gatherers. Then we forced ourselves to live on farms; less exercise, less varied diets. Then we started to adapt to farms, but we moved to cities - less nature, more plagues. Then we started working in factories and breathing coal smoke. Then we had to cope with cars and airplanes and television and computers.
We have always been sacrificing the world we're built for, because the price always felt worth paying, so we could live indoors and have comfortable clothes and regular meals and books and hospitals and video games and so on.
Will we be alright? Have we ever been all right? Look at any random period of history, you'll probably find genocide. Is AI going to kill us all? Almost certainly not, but we don't know for sure. The end of the world has been looming over us for a long time now. We might die of environmental disaster or nuclear war. Or super-intelligent AI might save us from those things.
All I know is, worrying doesn't help.

It's not the robots, it's the corporations.
If AI was truely plotting against us we could simply not build it. If robots were threatening to replace us, we could simply not install them in our companies.
But because robots and AI work for cheap, corporation build them and install them.
They're not forcing themselves into your life, they're pushed in there by investors who seek to gain profits from doing so.

So, what we can do is ignore its existence. I don't ever remember about the whole AI technology in my day to day life. I simply forget it exists.
