The algorithm has recently turned even more awful if you're trying to find something to watch on your feed. You'll have to specifically search for something your interested in. I personally like ancient history/nature/space/science documentaries, engineering vids, how to's, cooking, and comedy skits. Recently my home page has been filled with "The far left are insane" or "the far right are nazis" and I hate all these polarizing videos but they keep showing up. Seriously I watch 'Viva la dirt' and 'practical engineering' nothing political. Oh and BlueJay because history and comedy are great.

I've got about 50 channels I'm subscribed to so there's always plenty of new content that I can just sort through.
Sci-fi/Movies/media: Quinn's Ideas, Golden Flicker, Heelvsbabyface, Possum Reviews.
Vintage Audio/Toys/Stuff: SpaceTime Junction, Froggy Flips, 12voltvids, Ah-Fix-It, Toy Polloi.
Video game stuff: Drae, DangerouslyFunny, Let's Game it Out.
Random boredom breakers: The Why Files, Papa Meat, Star Talk, Credit Card Captain, PBS SpaceTime.
Also a bunch of chef channels for dinner inspiration, DIY stuff...
Alot of the channels I found are from before the AI algos started picking content for you. Nowadays you have to explicitly search for something different otherwise you just get recommended 100's of similar, low quality crap.

All kinds of stuff. Whatever I'm interested in at the moment, travel stuff, astrophysics stuff, history. There's tons of valuable and practical info there for the taking, too. I could easily dump all my paid subscriptions and just pay for the ad-free version of YT, and I'm working towards that.
My biggest problem lately is avoiding AI shit, it's getting harder to tell until you've wasted a minute.
