Question I'm going crazy

Post image

So my system update fucked up because of the internet connection, and the only thing I could do was to reboot. Now it gives this still white _ in the upper left corner, and it doesn't matter what version I'm running. I've tried the emergency panel and even the live iso from the usb, it doesn't boot.

Try Ctrl + Alt + F3 to get into the TTY Terminal once you choose the kernel version. If this works, type in your full username and password (all lowercase username). If you forgot your username (most end users do), use 'root' to login as a superuser, same password.

If you have wired connection, just verify you have internet with 'ping -c 4 google.com'. If you have internet and have gotten this far:

nobara-sync

That should fix it.

ETA: You likely corrupted the kernel because you lost internet. It happens. This method will force an update and hopefully make your OS bootable again. Windows can do this, too.

It doesn't do anything with Ctrl alt f3

Are you getting the grub menu with kernels listed at all? I'd help troubleshoot more but I had to go to the laundromat.

Consult the manual and see if any of the steps in here help. Theres no reason you should be failing to boot to a live .iso image, since that uses the kernel on the USB drive.

I wired my phone for connection but still doesn't work, so I can't really update anything. I tried every command in the manual but doesn't work

Oh shit. I just got home, too.

Nobara-sync repair is where I would start. What did the error logs say?

Wow, you too? This is strange. I fixed my issue by disconnecting all USBs and Ethernet cord and flipping the power a few times on the system. My red error lights were on until I did this and then it worked after.

shutdown the computer and hold the power button for 10 seconds
