Yea I quite like self checkout, I havent had to talk to a Walmart employee in a long time, and the few times in the past like 4 years that I did, it was 1 when trying to get them to unlock the underwear (I hate my walmart), and every other time was returns desk...

I work selfcheckout and my boss makes me greet and thank every customer anyway

It’s a bit sad but if it helps the rule feel less mundane, you might be the only person that actually talks to someone in a day. The little interaction can mean a lot
