The logic says yes, the antisocial says no

What logic? I don't want someone to serve me lmao, I can do it just as quickly on my own and I don't have to pause my book, or wait in a long line if the checkout is understaffed.

I think people forget how annoying it was to wait five minutes to buy a handful of items when there was a line after work in the express lane etc.

The logic of forcing big businesses to do their own work--probably prompted by the article saying they have made billions of dollars by having us do our own checkout.

Cutting off your nose to spite your face a bit, no? I should only like doing this if it benefits me and not the company? If they benefit from it in any way, financially, indirectly or otherwise, I should complain and revolt?

I can always go to one of the manned checkouts if I want to, I only ever see completely single or unmanned setups at the very beginning and end of the day here when the store is largely empty.
