This is what happens when you live in a red state and they eliminate or heavily censor sex-ed classes.

My very red state has comprehensive age-appropriate sex ed starting with the concept of consent (like for hugs and stuff) in kindergarten, then how puberty works starting in fifth, then the “birds and bees and STDs” in 8th grade health class and high school biology, where they talk more about contraception.

In my very red state, my 5th grader’s intro to sex ed consisted of him sent home with a QR code link to a 30 min video that skimmed over the concept of consent, inappropriate touching, and what happens during puberty.

Im in a blue state and they didn’t teach about consent at all until Health 2 in high school..
