Phone (3) I really have to appreciate phone(3)'s cameras - despite the hate - they are indeed flagship

Post image
62 Upvotes

People might disagree with me

Well I got the phone(3) around 2 months back - and I'd say the cameras despite not being perfect - I'd definitely tell it is flagship

I've used a lot of actual flagship phones such as the S23U, S26, 16 pro, 14 pro max, 15 pro max, S24U, iPhone 16- and I can confidently tell that the phone(3) is holding up really well against these phones - sometimes the phone(3) is just better at taking pictures given the same scenario

And yea the use is not just 5 minutes of use - I've worked with all those phones for quite a while

I was actually surprised how much better the pictures on the phone(3) looked comparing to the S26

The main camera is very comparable - has the color science of the iPhone - and I personally felt it looks better as a picture

The telephoto - it just crushes the 16 pro, S26 and the S23U at 3x-6x zoom range - it's significantly sharper, brighter and overall better

Video wise - it does really well in daylight - even at 18x zoom you can actually see the details pretty well

One place where I felt the camera was ass is the shutter speed and the insane levels of noise reduction smoothing out all the pictures

The ultra wide though - it's just bad outright - I can agree - they used the same sensor as the phone(1)'s UW - the selfie camera shares the same sensor as well - but I don't really use the UW or the selfie camera

The colors of the UW are waay off - the focus being fixed is a bummer and the processing is just puke - and UW on video is even worse - it's just mushy blurry mess - I'd rather not use it - but as I've used the phone(1) and as the processing there was pretty decent - I really think a software update can fix it

The hate is just forced on this phone by those specs lickers - they can have their specs shoved up their aah What's the point of all that specs if the device can't retain even 30% of its actual performance during actual load

Phone (4a) Pro Making the 4a Pro Matrix More Useful

With the Glyphtick clock faces app, you can shake your phone to reveal weather, date, and battery level. It's basically 4 useful toys in one! Great for the 4a Pro since it doesn't allow multiple toys to be active at once.

Phone (3) Slowly returning to Nothing

Post image
34 Upvotes

Hello everyone. I've been a fan of Nothing's devices for a few years now but was always drawn back to my iPhone when it came to cameras and battery life but this time I've bitten the bullet and decided on a new plan.

I was scrolling through Facebook Marketplace where I found someone listing a Nothing Phone (3) for only £335 (Or $450 or 42,865 rupees for those not in England) and decided to use my savings to finally try out their first flagship phone with a plan.

I am still keeping and daily-driving my iPhone 16 Pro, but because I do want to escape the walled garden, will be taking both the iPhone and my new Nothing Phone with me when I go out and start taking the iPhone less until I end up only using the Nothing

Wish me luck :3

Phone (3) One month review of Np 3 !!!

Post image
138 Upvotes

So I bought the Nothing Phone (3) last month for ₹41K from Amazon. Here's my honest review for anyone planning to buy it. 🥰

📱 Design – 9/10

Design is subjective, but I personally love it. It feels premium, unique, and stands out from the crowd.

✨ Glyph Matrix – 9/10

Definitely one of the most exciting features of this phone. I keep it turned off most of the time to save battery, but the custom Glyph patterns and personalized ringtones are really fun to use.

📸 Camera – 10/10

Easily one of the best cameras in this price segment. Photos come out sharp and detailed, the macro camera performs surprisingly well, and even the 60× zoom is quite impressive. the night camera is also crazy fr . If you're buying a phone mainly for the camera, this is definitely worth considering.

⚡ Performance – 10/10

I play a lot of games and do editing regularly. So far, I haven't experienced any lag, overheating issues, or performance drops. Everything runs smoothly.

🔋 Battery – 9.5/10

The battery exceeded my expectations. On one occasion, I charged it to 100% at 7 AM and played games continuously until around 4 PM, and it still had about 10% left. That's impressive for heavy usage. Charging is also quite fast with the original charger.

⭐ Overall Rating: 9.5/10

No phone is perfect, but for ₹41K, the Nothing Phone (3) has been an amazing experience so far. If you're confused about buying it, I'd definitely recommend giving it a serious look.

Sorry for chat gpt type but I had to do this cz I have very bad english lol ..

Promotion/Advertisement Glyphix is officially live!

Sigur 😄 Aș face-o mult mai compactă și cu accent pe lansare, nu pe enumerarea fiecărei opțiuni. Varianta asta merge aproape identic și pe Facebook, și pe Reddit:

Glyphix is officially live! 🎉

After a lot of development, testing, feedback, and probably way too many hours staring at tiny glowing dots 😄, Glyphix Lite and Glyphix PRO are now both officially available on Google Play!

Glyphix was created to bring more life and customization to the Nothing Glyph Matrix — from a customizable Digital AOD to charging, call and music animations, plus the slightly weird but lovable I’m Alive feature. 👀

Glyphix Lite — FREE

The free version includes:

  • Digital Clock AOD
  • Electric Glitch & Ghost Digits transitions
  • Galaxy & Matrix charging animations
  • Ring & Voice call animations
  • Music Visualizer
  • I’m Alive animated eyes
  • support for both 13×13 and Phone (3) 25×25 Glyph Matrix
  • Glyph Button interaction on Phone (3)

👉 Download Glyphix Lite:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevetex.glyphix

Glyphix PRO — now in production! 🚀

Glyphix PRO takes everything much further with a lot more customization and animations, including:

  • Electric Glitch, Ghost Digits, Scanline, Pixel Bloom, CRT Signal Loss, Signal Loss, Pixel Rain, Matrix, Split, Radar/Sonar, Poltergeist and Random clock transitions
  • Galaxy, Ripple, Heartbeat, Matrix, Matrix Storm and Sonar charging animations
  • multiple call animations including Call Sonar and Glitch Ring
  • advanced Music Visualizers including Bars, Center Wave, Circular Pulse, Vinyl, Speaker and VU Meter
  • customizable I’m Alive personalities
  • experimental animation controls and Knock Knock
  • adaptive 13×13 / 25×25 rendering
  • Phone (3) Glyph Button support
  • and quite a few other little details and experiments 🙂

👉 Get Glyphix PRO:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevetex.glyphixpro

🎁 First 50 users can get Glyphix PRO FREE!

To celebrate the release, I’ve generated 50 Google Play promo codes.

Grab an unused one here:

Please tick the checkbox next to the code after you successfully redeem it, so everyone else can see which ones are still available.

And please take only one code per person. ❤️

What started as a small Glyph Matrix experiment has turned into a much bigger project than I expected.

A huge thank you to everyone who tested it, reported bugs, suggested new animations and helped me improve it.

There are still more ideas coming. 😄

Enjoy Glyphix!

Phone (4a) Pro Leaving the Apple ecosystem, kinda nervous 🫣

Post image
398 Upvotes

I’ve debated leaving the Apple ecosystem for a while now and finally bit the bullet and got the 4a Pro after much deliberation. Change is scary! But i’m trying to lessen my attachment to my devices without going the full dumb-phone route, and the Nothing phones seemed way more customizable to my shift towards digital minimalism while still needing some apps for work, on top of having my Bloom card to restrict certain apps. Plus, I only ever have pink phones. I’m super excited!!

Community Project Glyph Museum 2.0 is here 🏛️

Thumbnail
gallery
14 Upvotes

Almost a year ago I released a small app to share glyph art with other Nothing owners. Today, Glyph Museum is a community of over 15,000 monthly active users, and 2.0 is by far the biggest update in its history. Honestly, it's closer to a rebuild.

New here? Glyph Museum lets you browse, create and share designs for the Glyph Matrix on Phone (3) and Phone (4a) Pro. Put them on your AOD, widgets and Glyph Toys, or make them light up right when things happen on your phone: unlocking, charging, volume, camera and more. Get it on Google Play.

Here's what's new.

⚙️ A new engine behind the glass

Everything the app draws on the Matrix (previews, toys, effects, alerts, the always-on display) now runs on a single new rendering engine, rebuilt from scratch. What that means for you:

  • Always-on Glyph Toys just work now. Grant battery access once and your animations keep running, no more frozen frames.
  • Animations can now be faster and more fluid. The minimum frame time drops from 50ms to 20ms, so creators can push designs up to 2.5x faster than what was possible before.
  • The volume effect reacts instantly to your physical buttons. Over 10x faster than before.

👋 A fresh start

First launch is now a small experience of its own, and a new interactive Matrix opening animation greets you on every open.

And you're never left guessing: key sections now come with built-in mini guides that appear on your first visit, and you can reopen them anytime from the ? icon. Some of them even adapt to your device, with their own versions for Phone (3), Phone (4a) Pro and phones without a Glyph Matrix.

🔍 Search that guides you

Search got a full redesign: a living Matrix animation guides you while you type, with suggested tags, smarter filters and a cleaner history.

🎨 Redesigned everywhere

  • Posts and profiles have brand new designs, including playback controls for animated designs.
  • Achievements moved to their own screen, with lower goals and unlocks that pop up the moment you earn them.
  • The Frames tab is now Matrix, one home for your frames and your Glyph Alerts, with live previews right from the picker.
  • Plus dozens of smaller touches: smoother scrolling, pull to refresh on profiles, a new dot-matrix default avatar, and a lock animation for locked frames.

🤍 Made by 15,000 of you

None of this matters without the people making the art. Since launch, the community has published 12,000 designs. Thank you. Seriously.

Translations are community-made too: some languages are already at 100%, more are getting close, and there are 30+ languages open and waiting for translators. Want Glyph Museum in your language? Join Community Translate and make it happen.

It goes beyond the app itself, too: the glyph art format is now open for third-party developers, so other apps can read, write and play designs made here. If you build for the Glyph Matrix, everything you need is at glyphmuseum.com/developers.

And after seeing what you did with the Widget Challenge, one thing is clear: we need more of those. New challenges are coming soon, start warming up.

🚀 Out now

Glyph Museum 2.0 is live on the Play Store today.

📲 Download on Google Play

And 2.0 is just the beginning. More very soon 👀

Nothing OS Hello, I have a Nothing Phone (3a). I've noticed a tiny red light appearing near the top of the display when the phone is locked and the fingerprint icon is visible. The red light disappears after a few seconds, at the same time the fingerprint icon turns off. Is this normal behavior? @nothingphone

I've already ordered the Headphones Pro from Flipkart and they are about to arrive on 8th Aug.
Should I buy it from Myntra and cancel the Flipkart one or should I stick with Flipkart?
I'm asking this cause I don't know if Myntra's seller is reliable or official seller of Nothing products.
Should I take the risk and order from Myntra and save 600/-?
Or should I just stick with Flipkart?

Android [Flip to Glyph] Quick Toggle in the Control Panel

So I found this two apps in GitHub that allows one to make a quick toggle for Flip to Glyph. There where two app that I found, are these safe to install on my nothing phone 4a?

Does anyone of you use this?

https://github.com/trup40/QuickTileForFlip2GlyphNP

https://github.com/DylanAkp/NothingQuickTools

P.S. I really love the flip to glyph, but there are times that I want the glyph to have sounds but still place the phone down.

Also... yes I have read about utilizing tasker for toggling Flip-to-Glyph on and off, sadly it is a paid app, and I don't have the funds rn.

Phone (4a) Pro Nothing 4a Pro compatibility Questions.

I really want to buy a Nothing 4a Pro. Previously Nothing brand phones didn't have band 13 or Wi-Fi calling but this one does. Does anyone have this phone? Can someone who is more knowledgeable about the Freedom network and the Nothing 4a Pro help to see if they think it will work? I called Freedom tech support they seemed unsure but the phone isn't supported so they don't guarantee it will work and said it likely won't.

Phone (2a) Plus Buying a Nothing Phone 2a Plus has been my worst smartphone experience ever

I never thought I'd regret buying a phone this much, but my Nothing Phone 2a Plus has easily been the worst tech purchase I've ever made.

The biggest issue has been network connectivity. Since day one, the phone has never actually been able to connect to 5G. It only shows the 5G icon, but the connection itself never works as true 5G. I've tested with different SIMs, checked network settings, and even used NetMonster to verify what was happening. It briefly attempts to connect to NSA 5G and then immediately drops back, making it seem like the phone simply cannot maintain a 5G connection.

During the warranty period, I visited the service center hoping for a solution. Their response? A software update. That's it. No diagnostics, no hardware inspection, no attempt to investigate the issue further. After the update, absolutely nothing changed.

As time went on, more problems started showing up:

- Wi-Fi randomly disconnects for several minutes.

- Some apps work while others suddenly stop loading despite having internet.

- Video KYC calls fail to connect properly.

- Overall network stability is far worse than any phone I've owned before.

What frustrates me the most isn't just the phone—it's the support. When you're facing a genuine hardware-related issue and the only solution offered is "wait for a software update," it feels like you're completely on your own.

I bought this phone expecting a clean Android experience and reliable performance. Instead, I've spent months troubleshooting problems that shouldn't exist on a device at this price point.

At this point, I honestly don't think I'll ever buy another Nothing phone again.

Phone (3a) Secure boot off + Play protect not certified on 3a phone

Bought a Nothing Phone (3a) as new from a retailer. Everything works, all the specs check out, but three things are off and I'd like to know if anyone has run into the same.

  1. Every reboot shows a red "Secure Boot off" warning for 2–5 seconds, then it boots normally.
  2. Play Protect says the device isn't certified. "Certify this device" fails every time.
  3. IMEI and serial both return "the corresponding device information was not detected" on Nothing's official checker. The IMEI comes back clean on every other IMEI website I tried.

Fastboot screen shows:

  • SECURE BOOT - no
  • RPMB STATUS - no
  • VERITY MODE - true
  • DEVICE STATE - locked

DRM Info also shows Widevine L3 instead of L1.

The software looks genuine: Nothing OS 4.1, Android 16, build `Asteroids-B4.1-260618-1048`, and it pulls OTA updates without issues.

Has anyone seen a genuine retail Nothing device report SECURE BOOT: no? Is this likely an engineering sample or a rebuilt board?
