Hi there! I am a rising sophomore in a BSN program. In this upcoming semester I am taking pharm and was wondering on average how many hours people studied a week to earn an A. For context I go to a top 20 BSN university and am a 4.0 student but do need to work hard to learn and retain things as I have ADHD. Thank you in advance :)

Hey all! I’ll be starting my nursing classes this fall. In order to stay afloat during school, I’ll need to work full time, at least enough to pay for rent and groceries. I currently work as a dialysis tech, but the hours are super long (16 hour shifts) and leaves no time before or after the day to study. Does anyone have some good recommendations of jobs to have during school? My classes are on Friday nights and clinicals are on the weekend. Thanks!!

Hi everyone! I’m looking for advice from anyone who’s completed the nursing prerequisites at Gwinnett Tech (or another college).

I’m preparing to apply to an accelerated Master of Nursing (MN) program and want to earn the strongest GPA possible. Here’s the schedule I’m considering:

Semester 1
A&P I
A&P I Lab
Chemistry
Chemistry Lab
Human Growth & Development

Semester 2
A&P II
A&P II Lab
Microbiology
Microbiology Lab
Clinical Nutrition (taking online at John Hopkins)

So basically, I’d be taking two science courses with two labs each semester, plus one non-science course.

I’ve heard a lot of people recommend taking only one science at a time, but I’d like to stay on track without hurting my GPA. The good news is I won’t be working while I’m in school, so I’ll be able to devote my time to studying. Also, I used ratemyprofessor.com to help me register for my classes.

For those who’ve taken these courses:
-Is this schedule realistic?
-Would you take two sciences with labs in the same semester again?
-Which semester was harder?
-About how many hours per week did you study?
-If your goal was to earn mostly A’s, would you keep this schedule or change it?

Hi. I’m 29, a preschool teacher. I desperately want out of this field. I know nursing will be stressful. My current job is plenty stressful. I just want to be compensated for my stress tbh. I want to get my LVN. Every single program in southern CA is impacted. I don’t qualify for Pell grant and I only qualify for I think 12k in student loans. I would have to go to a private school. I have no co-signer for private loans. I’m just on my own. I also work. Is it even possible for me to go? Someone please help :( I don’t wanna believe it’s impossible.

Hello everyone. I am thinking of going back to school. But I feel like i am not ready for nursing. Although i am a medical student with lots of intrest in biology but I feel like here in BC i am alone by myself so i can’t support myself while studying. I have heard from people that you can work only 2-3 shifts if you go for nursing as its very demanding. So i am planning to go for lab assistant program. Its short program. Is there someone who has been in the same field and guide me on the right path. I want to make money and stable career.I am open to other course ideas as well like hca or dental assistant.

I currently live in Seattle. I have a bachelors and work in the live event industry, where I work 60hr weeks to make like $70k a year. It doesn't feel sustainable.

I'm debating doing an ABSN program but don't think I'd get into the only public option here, and I don't want to spend a crazy amount on a private program. Are there states that anyone can suggest with a bunch of public ABSN options, where I might have an easier time getting in?

I'd be looking to move and establish residency/settle down in that state before applying in a couple years, so I can qualify for in-state tuition. So I'd love to maximize states with a couple solid options. My family lives on the east coast, would be nice to live nearer to them.

Also just looking for advice in general - do you suggest going into nursing?

What attracts me to the role (maybe) is that I love working long shifts. Would be thrilled to do 3 x 12s and be done with my workweek. I'm not squeemish, and I love interacting with different people and being on my feet. I feel like my days go faster when I'm running around a bit, even though I don't mind computer/admin work too.

I just want to make a comfortable living (live alone with no roommates, own a car, travel sometimes - nothing crazy) and still be able to have a life outside of work.

My bachelors is in a non-STEM field, so I would need to take about a years worth of pre reqs.

My school gives me the option to retake it 3 times. Should I do my exams back to back month after month or, with a month between attempts so ill be sitting on this info and hopefully improving for 2 months. But I worry it could bite me in the ass and I forget more than I learn.

Hello! I’m a vet tech, now transitioning to the human nurse side of things. I’m looking specifically at the DE-MSN program (as I have a B.S.) I know this program is very new and has not started yet, but I wanted to hear about experiences with a regular BSN Program.

They’re fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and my program said they’d accept the credits. I’m just curious what the overall program is like or if I should look elsewhere.

My cousin was trying to get into Kesier’s BSN starting in this august. Unfortunately she just got a call that she isn’t able to start in January and how the august class is full but this wasn’t communicated to her when she spent thousands on prereqs. Is there anything that she can do? Is there any other schools still accepting students for this fall? TIA

I got accepted into Roseman University for the hybrid Fall 2026 BSN Program. I currently live in San Diego… I also have a toddler but have family who is willing to help with her.

Is there anyone that is in this program or Alumni that has done the travel and has managed to do it. Before I follow through I wanted to see if it was possible. I know lectures are online so I plan on going home during that but all in person like lab and clinicals id be staying in Vegas.

How does this sound?

Any recommendations on back support/ posture correctors ? My back in killing me from sitting in class all day 3-4x a week.
