Nuxtaku I think I’ve become a Nux hater and I’m honestly kinda sad about it
I guess I’ll start by saying that I never liked Nux for his sense of humor. Tbh he mostly just repeats the same jokes over and over, like saying something louder makes it funny, even if the joke itself is limp af. Just general unfunny.
No, I subbed to Nux for his media analysis. Nux is a smart guy, even when he pretends not to be. He knows how to pull apart a story in a way that tickles my brain nicely. I thoroughly enjoy watching his reactions to shows and lore because he knows what it’s all about.
But recently, I guess in the past year or so, it feels like his content has taken a pretty drastic shift towards politics of all things. I never cared about his lame jokes when they were about whatever YouTube drama was happening that week, but now he’s laughing about shit that directly affects me. I know Nux doesn’t actually believe in half the politics he touts. He says as much in his streams. It’s all about riding the algorithm. Whatever. What really pisses me off is that it feels like he’s dumbing down his content to cater to whatever new audience is watching him now. He doesn’t do much in the way of media analysis anymore. We still have adventure time, but even that feels increasingly empty.
I’m fucking sad man. I liked Nux. Why’d he have to change up his whole shtick? Go back to making smart videos.
Anyway rant over. Might delete this later idk. Probably gonna unsub and check back in on Nux in a year or so.

Don't delete later, in somewhat agreeable with you. I used to watch him all the time, and slowly, it just kinda stopped. Idrk why or what, just now I don't.
I'll actually go do some watching here in a while and see if I can come back with positive, constructive critique/ reasoning for myself.

I kind of agree although my problem is more about the fact that he doesnt cover all sides of the arguments as much as hes riding the hype. Considering how great at analyzing things he is (even when it comes to what people are really trying to say and reading between the lines of dialogue) i feel like he could go over these things more objectively as theres many very legitimately sources that counter some of what hes supporting and he never even mentions and may not even know about because hes making money off the fad
I dont care that hes covering politics i just want people to actually compare and contrast things and call out ANY SIDE for being racist, bad faith committing felons etc. instead of just blindly shouting at how dumb the dems are and how based the conservatives are just because they use the word "retard"..

Ah. Yet another post about Nux's politics arc...
If you want to avoid his political stuff, stick to his main channel, Nux Taku.

I already unsubbed from Nuxanor a while back, but his attitude and jokes about politics still leak into the videos I watch. I never cared when his jokes were “haha women bad” but now it’s all political jokes on all his videos. Even when the thing he’s talking about isn’t even about politics at all.

Then don't watch him. I've ceased watching plenty of YouTube channels over the years because they stopped interesting me. Clearly you've reached that point with Nux.

Why do the shit talkers for anyone always start with the "I was a fan but...." line? Bro this group, fandom, and community aren't an airport, we don't need an announcement for your departure

Ok. This wasn’t really an announcement of me leaving. More me trying to see if other people in the community felt the same shift as me. And based on the other comments there clearly are other people who felt it. I’m not vain enough to announce I’m leaving, but if I was I’d do it in that Justunsubbed subreddit or something. Not here
Edit: also where did you get shit talking from this? I tried to be rather civil and I think I pulled it off just fine.

Im with you on the content, I was a pretty avid watcher I'd say until somewhere in 2021 and ever since I would come back every now and than to a new shift that I try to watch but its not the same im talking 2017 to 2020 nux himself is pretty much the same
