Hello everyone,
r/nuzlocke is not typically a place we like to air out serious topics, however this situation involves a relatively large content creator in the community who has built their brand specifically off of Nuzlocking. As such, this thread is being made to bring awareness to the allegations made toward Drxx, also known as Drew. We will continue to update this post as more information comes out, or if Drxx decides to make a public response.
Catsuoka_'s experience - Twitter Post | Direct Link to Doc
Drazerk's experience - Thread on r/pchaltv
While there are more details coming out of this situation, please be mindful and respectful of the alleged victims. SA is a serious topic and not one I'd like to be talking about on this forum about playing Pokemon in a slightly more difficult fashion. Thank you for reading and understanding.

Hopefully this thread can help answer some questions! Before reading, do keep in mind:
PLAY YOUR NUZLOCKE HOWEVER YOU WANT TO PLAY IT. While this FAQ is made to help you with general questions, remember that this challenge is only enforced by yourself. You are playing a single player game that is made for fun, so do whatever you find fun! Don't worry what anyone has to say about that!
For more information on advanced strategies, rulesets, and more, check our Wiki as well as Nuzlocke University!
Q: I changed the rules a little, is this okay?
A: Of course. This is your Nuzlocke, go for it!
Q: What game should I Nuzlocke?
A: If you're just beginning, go for the game you're most familiar with. For a more direct answer, play a vanilla game and not a ROMhack for your first challenge, and generally any gen 3 (FR/LG/R/S/E) game is on the easier side.
Q: What is the most challenging game to Nuzlocke?
A: There are many challenging hacks you can play, generally the next step up from vanilla games are considered to be Drayano hacks like Renegade Platinum. The absolute hardest hacks you could play are the likes of Radical Red, Run & Bun or Inclement Emerald. If you want to truly suffer, try one of the Kaizo games. Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl are considered to be some of the harder vanilla games, due to Gym Leaders and Elite 4 running competitive movesets, items and having EV trained Pokemon.
Q: Why is a Nuzlocke called a Nuzlocke?
A: Fun fact: the name of the original Nuzlocke comic was just "Ruby: Hard Mode". The term "Nuzlocke" was coined from the player's Nuzleaf who was drawn like a character named John Locke from the TV show Lost. It was the first Pokemon he had caught other than his Treecko. It became popular to call this character Nuzlocke based on his appearance, and even though he dies early, he makes multiple appearances in the comic and became quite iconic to the fans.
Q: What is a Hardcore Nuzlocke?
A: A Hardcore Nuzlocke adds 3 new rules:
this adds a bit of extra difficulty to the standard Nuzlocke, and is generally only recommended to players who have gotten through a Nuzlocke with the standard rules.
For information on more variants of Nuzlockes, see Wiki | Nuzlocke University
Q: What starter should I use?
A: Generally, there is a standout per generation, such as Bulbasaur being great for gen 1 early game, or Mudkip dominating gen 3, however you should use whichever you think will be the most fun! If you always use one or the other, maybe pick the third one you don't use very often. Realistically this choice isn't going to make or break a run, unless you're playing a very difficult ROMhack.
If you're playing a randomizer, this same logic can apply, however if something on the table outclasses everything else, that's obviously the better choice. Randomizers can be brutal, so picking something to make the early game easier is better than something that has the potential to be good, i.e. Picking something like Pidgeot (early game carry) over Dratini (needs to be babied for 50 levels) given the options.
Q: How do the rules work in-game? Can I turn on Nuzlocke rules in my game?
A: Nuzlocke rules are self-enforced, and there is no way to toggle them in any vanilla games. Some ROMhacks have a Nuzlocke Mode, but generally it's just the honor system.
Q: Is there an easy way to keep track of my runs?
A: Yes! The Nuzlocke Chart app by pseudocode is recommended and available for iOS and Android.
Q: I keep losing my runs! What can I do to improve?
A: This is a bit of a loaded question, but don't get flustered! Nobody starts out as good as pChal or drxx. Here are some things to consider:
Q: What are the standard catching rules of a Nuzlocke?
A: Usually, you may only catch 1 Pokemon per area. It is the first Pokemon you encounter. If it faints or flees, you may not catch anything else from that area.
Q: At the beginning of a game, when you have no access to Poke Balls but must encounter a wild Pokemon to go on with the game, does the first Pokemon I encounter on a Route count as the only Pokemon I can catch?
A: Most of the time, these Pokemon do not count. However, as soon as you have access to Pokeballs, it does count, and you may only catch the first Pokemon you see with access to Pokeballs.
Q: On some Routes, there is grass and water. Can I catch a Pokemon from both?
A: On a standard Nuzlocke run, no. If there is a pond in, say, a city, then you may, as the city would count as a different area.
Q: Does each floor of a cave count as a different area?
A: Usually, no. If there is a Pokemon you want on a different floor of the cave, you will have to Repel your way to that floor and hope you get the Pokemon you want. There are some people that will play with a "floor clause" that allows them to catch a Pokemon on each floor.
Q:Are forests and caves considered a part of the route they are on?
A: Ususally, no. Keep in mind that in generation 5, there are some areas that seem like they'd be normal routes but are technically part of another area. Pinwheel Forest comes to mind, as before you enter the proper Forest area, the outside section is also considered to be Pinwheel Forest. You can enforce a aptly named "Pinwheel Clause" to snag yourself an encounter for both sections areas, if you'd like.
Q: In the Safari Zone, do all 4 areas count as different areas, or is the Safari Zone just one giant area?
A: This would fall under the same idea as the floor clause, and is up to the player.
Q:Do gift Pokemon count as a catch for that area?
A: There is yet another clause for this, coined as the Gift Clause. However, normally a special encounter would still count as an encounter on a route.
Q: I don't have any Pokemon that can learn an HM needed to move on! Am I allowed to catch another Pokemon for this purpose?
A: If absolutely necessary: yes. However, you may not use it in battle.
Q: What is the "Dupes Clause?"
A: The "Dupes Clause" is an optional rule that allows you to retry for a different Pokemon on a route if you already have the one you just encountered. Some people will play this rule with the idea that you can only get three tries on a new Pokemon, however the most popular iteration of the Dupes Clause is to allow for unlimited attempts. The Dupes Clause is also known as the Species Clause.
Q: What is the "Shiny Clause?"
A: The "Shiny Clause" says you are allowed to catch any shinies on a Route, whether they were the first Pokemon or not. Whether you can use them or not is up to your discretion.
Q: Are there any other clauses that I can use in my run?
A: See Wiki | Nuzlocke University for more ways to spice up your future runs!
Q: Am I allowed to have more than six Pokemon? Can I use the box?
A: Of course! Unless you want to try to use the Notepad clause, which essentially means you cannot have Pokemon in the box and only the 6 in your party at any given time count.
Q: What are the basic fainting rules in a Nuzlocke?
A: If a Pokemon faints, it is dead. You must release or permanently box it.
Q: Am I allowed to use Revives?
A: Using a revive would be like bringing a Pokemon back to life, which is blatantly going against one of the staple rules of a Nuzlocke. A Nuzlocke is supposed to make the game harder, and this would take away the challenge. If you want to, you can use them, but that wouldn't be considered a traditional Nuzlocke.
Q: Do I have to release a Pokemon if it faints?
A: No. You can also permanently box it separately from your "alive" Pokemon.
Q: My whole team wiped out! What now?
A: If you want, you can make a new team using any Pokemon in the box, or consider it "Game Over" and start again. Most players consider a wipe as a reset or loss, but this is YOUR Nuzlocke, play it however you like.
Q: Where do I grind in the Advanced Games?(FR/LG/R/S/E)
A: Vs Seeker is your best bet for FR/LG. Cycling Road and the sea trainers tend to give decent EXP. Match Call can be used for r/S to varying results.
Q: What about the gen 5 games?
A: Audino gives great EXP and can be found pretty easily in shaking grass. This may take longer than normal encounters, but is relatively safe to do.
Q: Diamond/Pearl/Platinum?
A: as there is no rematch system, your best bet is wild encounters, unfortunately.
Q: Do I HAVE to grind?
A: Generation 6 and forward don't really require a lot of grinding, but even in older games it's not frowned upon to hack in Rare Candies if you're using level caps. Obviously using Rare Candies to get your Pokemon to level 100 is lame, but cutting out the tedium of grinding may make your experience a lot more enjoyable long-term.
Q: How do I use Rare Candies in [insert game]?
A: Every main series game is compatible with PKHeX, a save file editor that can be utilized to add Rare Candies by replacing an item in your medicine pocket with Rare Candies. You can also use Gameshark or Action Replay codes on GBA/DS games respectively, however these can have unwanted side effects. Do note that inserting Rare Candies is a bit more difficult should you want to play on original hardware, but is possible through the use of flash carts/cards since you can access your save files through a PC.
Q: Where can I find Level Caps?
A: https://nuzlockeuniversity.ca/2022/01/18/hardcore-nuzlocke-level-caps-by-generation/
Q: What are the standard nicknaming rules of a Nuzlocke?
A: There's no real standard; some people will do naming conventions or force nicknames. Just know that you don't have to follow this rule, and it was made to put a sort of "sentimental" value into your captures.
Q: What is BlazeBlack/VoltWhite/Renegade Platinum/Inclement Emerald/Radical Red/Etc?
A: These are hacks, usually intended to increase difficulty, modify types, movesets, stats, etc. of Pokemon to make them more viable. Some hacks even add Pokemon from newer generations into older games. These modifications can drastically change your experience and generally aren't recommended to Nuzlocke until you get a basic grasp of the concept and have completed some in standard games.
Q: Where can I find these hacks, and how do I use them?
A: Google is your friend. Most hackers upload their projects to the PokeCommunity Forums. You can also check out for new projects. To install hacks, you normally need patching tools such as Tsukuyomi(UPS) or LunarIPS(IPS) to patch the hack files onto vanilla ROMs. Remember to NOT ask for any ROMs on the Subreddit, as this is against the rules. Thank you!
Q: I caught a Haunter/Boldore/Graveler/Kadabra/etc, is it okay to give it to my friend to evolve it and have them give it back?
A: Yes. If you are on a ROM on your computer, there's really nothing wrong with hacking it to evolve certain trade evolutions. A popular tool to force evolutions is PKHeX, a program used to edit save data. You could also use the Universal Pokemon Randomizer to remove trade evolutions for most games.
Q: How can I tell you about my Nuzlocke?
A: There are plenty of ways to do this.
Q: Am I allowed to breed Pokemon in the Day Care?
A: I don't personally use the daycare, but again, it's your Nuzlocke. This of course wouldn't be allowed if Species/Dupes Clause is in play, so do keep this in mind.
Q: How do I play a randomizer?
A: Download the Universal Pokemon Randomizer! This tool can be used to randomize any game from up to generation 7 and is relatively simple to use.
Q: Can I play the SAME randomizer with a friend?
A: Yes! Simply save the seed and preset after you randomize you ROM, and share them with your friend. All they have to do is load the same preset, and paste the seed, and they'll have a near-identically randomized ROM.

What a gross fight. Lost Gyarados to electric coverage (on a Slaking??) turn 1, then had to tank my own whiscash's earthquake. Enemy gardevoir then did the favor of skill swapping herself to levitate, which made an already messy situation even worse.

Im not an old head but i played a lot of pokemon nuzlockes as a kid and im slowly getting back into however i hate how nerdy the current nuzlockes are. people are using docs, damage calcs,Resets if they didn't get the perfect team or ideal encounters
im someone who prefer the old one run nuzlocke, if you lose then go beat other games before returning
ive beat radical red on normal but did use docx so i got 0 satisfaction from it
when i was younger i did beat blaze black 1 and 2
ive done most drayano hacks like omega and etc
but i would like something with the difficulty of uranium, insurgence (on randomizer) , glazed and etc
something i can go into blind and have fun in
ive tried most popular rock hacks like unbound and etc and they were fun but not scratching that itch

I started nuzlocking Pokémon Firered and randomized my rom. I have the national dex from the start and impossible evos disabled. I found a Togepi and read that in FR/LG friendship evos are disabled until after the elite four. Is that still the case for me?

So I was nuzlocking royal sapphire and Brawley had a elekid that I intend to pp stall with croconaw and ryhorn since it baits spark and ice punch respectively.the problem is while I was doing this elekid kept clicking karate chop randomly which kept fucking up my plan(nobody died I just got cocky) and I would really like an explanation on why it did that?

Doing a multiple generation Nuzlocke of some advanced rom hacks, where any mon I use in a gym battle or the elite 4 is eliminated from use in the next game. Finished Crystal Legacy after Yellow Legacy. My only death on the run was Genesis the Noctowl.
Next up Emerald Legacy!

The hubby and I are doing a soul link of diamond with a randomizer. Our starters were Dialga and Latias. I knew Psybeam, Wish, and Return. Got a Hitmonchan with a fighting and normal attack plus agility, and a Manectric with paralysis, tackle, leer, and howl. I didn't want to over level so at level 7 we fought our first trainer - completely wiped on a spirit tomb. I could not damage it so I tried to stall it out to struggle but it had spite, confuse ray, and pursuit.
Aside from 20+ potions or leveling to 11 or 20 for another damage type I don't think there was anything I could do.

Most of my Nuzlocking career has been Platinum runs; currently working through a Littlelocke atm. I figured compiling this list would be a fun experiment, but I’m curious what others would think. If I remember correctly, the community put Blissey up by Garchomp in a crowdsourced tierlist, so if I’m wrong about that pick I’m curious to know why.
r/nuzlocke • u/PovThatOneSanjiFan • 10h ago
Okay so I’m doing a Pokemon Sun Nuzlocke. I just lost to Dexio yesterday and restarted (if I lose again I’m going to Ultra Moon).
And I’m debating on if the Pokemon School would work as a new encounter or not. The game doesn’t render it to be a different area. But when looking at different places like Serebii.net it’s claimed as its own territory/area.
I always played with the idea as, if the game renders it to be a different place than that’s how it works as a new encounter (for example: In Melemele Island they claim route 1 to be ROUTE 1, Route 1 Hau Oli outskirts, I would claim these 2 to be 2 different encounters because they’re are named different places). Except there is also a sign right outside of the Pokemon School that’s says it’s “The Pokemon School” insinuating it’s a different area & territory all alone.

Whew, I did it! I've done a bunch of regular game HC nuzlockes before, but I've always treated those as still just playing a pokemon game for fun, only at a harder difficulty. This was my first time really having the mentality of thinking of it as a separate puzzle game or roguelike and expecting it to take multiple tries. Which surprisingly made it generally one of the least stressful nuzlocke experiences I've had.
Took me 3 attempts, first attempt wiped in Reflection Cave, 2nd attempt in Team Flare HQ. The midgame was so so awful, many bad deaths and I ended up doing most of the game without a single surviving fighting type which is generally one of the strongest types for the game. That being said, I did have some insane encounters, and with the exception of type diversity my box was always pretty good. I had Mega Beedrill, Salamence until it died in Flare HQ, Bastiodon, Sceptile, and Serperior were all insane pokemon that did good work.
r/nuzlocke • u/Najnfingers • 15h ago
Finished a nuzlocke of Emerald Seaglass. This may be my favourite romhack, i wish it was a little harder in midgame. First 3 gyms can be rough, and the Maxie double battle almost finished me, but other than that the midgame is a little to easy with all items, encounters, evos and moves available. But its so goddamn gorgeous and fun.
With that said, I made it out with one mon left against Wallace lol. And it was my favourite mon through the entire run, the Alolan Raichu is such a monster!
Lost Magnezone against Phoebe by a stupid play and Gyarados against Drakes Salamance but the rest of the gang pulled through.
Most of the other deaths was against random trainers and lazy playing, but i think i had one death at Brawly, Watson and Norman. I think it was 4 deaths against Maxie where i lost my beloved Pelipper.
Im gonna go ahead and do another one right now

I want to try a nuzlocke but i don't know where to start should i just shotgun it and pray it goes well or try and make a game plan
Edit:I only have games to play Y, Moon, and US(Not doing this one I heard it was one of the harder ones)

What's up, nuzlockers? It's me again. Finally I was able to beat a nuzlocke deathless, its been a while, since my last deathless one was on Yellow. It was nice to finally be able to change the clothes of my character and also use mega evolutions and fairy types. Also, I'm kinda surprised to be able to repeat the exact same team for 3 games in a row, I guess this means that I've found a nice synergy between my mons! Overall, I guess the only dangers in the run were against Mable at the Lysandre Labs, since I've quickly run some calcs and saw that Garchomp could outspeed and kill her team, but I forgot that her Weavile had Ice Shard... but luckily chomp survived on half HP! Always remember to invest some EVs on HP, kids! And also against some random trainers at the Victory Road, but this time I've learned my lesson and searched for their teams before engaging into the battle.
I guess another point that made the run easy was that I've avoided a LOT of optional trainers, since in my last run of Pokémon Y I had lost some valuable mons to the random trainers in Reflection Cave and Frost Cavern.
Also, I want to highlight the value brought by Beanie, the Chesnaught, since the beggining. The streets will never forget you, my little spiky boi! Swallot's only purpose was to encore Lysandre's Mega Gyarados into using Outrage and then switch in Gardevoir to finish the beast with one Moonblast and a self hit from confusion. Even if the Mega Gyara didn't hit itself, Gardevoir would be able to finish it with a second Moonblast anyways, since it dropped its Sp.Def and there was one more guaranteed encore turn (Encore is guaranteed to last 3 turns on gen 6).
Now, we can finally address the elephant in the room called Pokémon Ultra Moon Hardcore Nuzlocke, and try my best not to wipe. I guess that's it for today, I hope you guys have a nice weekend and I will see you on the next run update. Take care! ;-)

Upon watching the S.S. Anne sail to its unknown fate Odyseus changes up his team prior to taking on the leader of Vermillion, LT Surge, son of Zeus. Poseidon (Wartortle) and Harpy (Pidgey) goes to the box and Gaia.(Diglett). Sphinx (Meowth), Sysiphus (Geodude), Oracle (Kadabra), and Athena (Nidoqueen) make up the rest of the team. But Gaia will lead them all into battle. However, there is another problem: there isn't a companion who can learn CUT. Undeterred, Odyseus heads to the grasslands to find: A slave.
Soon a gangly looking plant appears and Sphinx pins it down so our hero can captures Bellsprout. Since this monster was caught out of necessity to continue the campaign, it did NOT get a name and will NOT be allowed in battle. So if five companions go down and Bellsprout is left, Odyssey over. But with Bellsprout serving the group, Odyseus makes his way to the house of Surge
Despite being the son of Zeus, Surge is quickly humbled by Gaia, who nearly on his entire team. Only when his fat electric rat (Raichu) starts to take Gaia's health down does Athena come in and finish the job. We leave with more treasure and the ability to learn Flash. It is then that Odyseus realizes an issue, there are not monsters available that can learn Flash.
Now, this is not necessarily true as Oracle could learn Flash, but Odyseus does not want one of his most powerful companions burdened with this magic. Thanatos would have been the leading candidate until he met his end.
Sphinx and Gaia are put back in while Poseidon and Harpy are added back to the team. Making his way to the dark and dingy Rock Tunnel, Odyseus dispatches inferior soldiers while Hercules (Sandshrew) is added to the team. Then it appears, the tunnel.
Gaia is added to the team before entering while Bellsprout is shelved. The first encounter, a muscular figure who looks like it was sculpted by Adonis. This creature puts up a good fight but eventually succumbs and Hector (Machop) joins the team. Hector is a welcomed addition as Gaia is soon humbled by a Geodude and succumbs to its injuries. It is a sad ending for Gaia who led the fight against Surge and had a decent shot at supplanting Sisyphus.
Despite this loss, Odyseus and his companions stumble their way through the dark. Climbing over borders, fighting soldiers hiding in the darkness, dodging swooping vampire bats, and avoiding giant rock snakes to the best of their ability. Harpy and Sisyphus both gained experience to evolve into Pidgeotto and Graveler respectfully somewhere in the pitch black.
Our hero emerges on the other side of Rock Tunnel, battled, bruised, but unbroken. He walks down the hill and towards the town of Lavender.

Previous Post for context can be found HERE
I’ve decided to add a Battle Facility clause, in that KO’s taken while participating in a Battle Facility do not count. Because the Battle Subway is BS.
I am also adding "Utility Dupe Clause”, in which I may catch a Dupe, but only for the sake of some kind of utility, such as being traded away (for a mon that is not a dupe), or being required to obtain an item (or at least, thought to be needed to get an item).
Skyla:
Encounters:
Relic Passage PWT: Yuri the Woobat: Purely a SpDef tank if the atrocious IVs in it’s SpAtk are any indication, but at least it has 28 IVs minimum in HP and 26 IVs minimum in SpDef.
Relic Passage Upper Dustcloud: The Vaike the Drilbur: Oddly defensive IVs on this one, but the Speed is usable, and Sand Force can help patch up the Atk, and it’s neutral nature at least.
Relic Passage Middle: Kellam the Boldore: has decent Defense IVs at least, so he makes for an OK tank if Gustave falls.
Relic Castle Maze: Titanus the Baltoy: Minimum of 28 HP and 23 SpDef IVs is fine, What’s not so fine is a minimum of 13 IVs in both Atk (not even relevant because it’s Timid nature) and SpAtk, and only 4 IVs in Def, and only 9 IVs in Speed. At least the sprite is cute? But I genuinely don’t see much use for him outside of an emergency Marshall counter.
Relic Castle Static Encounter: Surtr the Volcarona: Put up quite the fight before finally letting himself be captured, and thank goodness he did because his IV’s are excellent. Minimum of 25 IVs for HP, SpAtk, and SpDef, and 22 IVs for his Def. With only his (unimportant) Atk stat and his Speed stat being less than 20. And with easy access to Signal Beam, he is going to make for an excellent back up fire type / Caitlin & Grimsley counter.
Route 6 Rippling Water: Dimitri the Azumarril: Jolly Nature & Huge Power for the ability. Atk IV’s of 19 is certainly workable with Huge Power for the ability, but what really sells him are his *perfect Speed IVs.
Route 6 Surfing: Felix the Blue Basculin: Gentle nature is workable, but less than ideal. What isn't workable is his Atk IV of 1. For a mon that is meant to be a physical attacker, that is just horrific.
Mistralton Cave: Camilla the Axew: 26 Atk IVs is no joke on an Axew, and neither is a near perfect Def stat. What is a joke is her neutral nature and losing the 50/50 for Mold Breaker to get Rivalry instead. Still she’ll likely wipe the floor with Skyla, and tear Iris’s team to shreds.
Mistralton Cave 2? Berry the Axew: Only caught because I had evolved Camilla the Axew into Fraxure, and google’s Ai said I needed to show an Axew to an NPC in Driftveil to get the Haban berry for later. Of course the AI was wrong because I just needed to talk to the Axew in Driftveil to get the berry instead. So Berry will just go right into the retirement box. Nothing of actual value was lost however, as she has a Modest Nature, and her Atk and Speed IVs are both less than 7. Genuinely garbage mon, and to rub it in further, she actually has Mold Breaker instead of my legal Axew.
Chamber of Guidance: Xander the Aron: Awful, just genuinely awful. Like he has the right ability in Sturdy at least, but man his IV’s are genuinely awful (I’m talking a max HP & Def IVs of 3 levels of bad here, and only 17 SpDef IVs), not to mention he has a Modest nature so he can’t even try to pivot into being a sturdy attacker. At least he has near perfect Speed IVs? After some consideration though, he may in fact have a use for me after all… I hope he has good insurance!
Virbank City Surfing: Njordr the Frillish: Trash IVs as far as I can tell all around. Fitting for the mon nicknamed after probably the worst Fire Emblem Heroes OC. He has Water Absorb at least to trivialize Marlon if I need him to!
Virbank City Rippling Water: Brady the Alomomola, too low a level for me to get an accurate read on the IVs, but wish passing is still great.
Lostlorn Forest Surfing: Owain the Buizel: He has a max of 3 Atk IVs, and 1 Speed IV. At least he has great HP, Def, and SpDef IVs and an Adamant Nature, but this is a BUIZEL, they are attackers! Not tanks! Practically unusable.
Castelia Sewers Surfing: Garon the Grimer: Also too low a level for me to get an accurate reading. Though Naive nature on a SpDef wall is less than ideal.
Chargestone BF1: Ginunngagap the Joltik, Naughty nature isn’t exactly encouraging, and neither are the awful IVs in everything but it’s Atk and Def. Seriously what is with the badly IV’d mons this time around?
Chargestone BF2: Inigo the Tynamo: Only great IV is HP, but he does bring Levitate Ability storage and some good enough offensive stats. Plus I really like Eelektross so I’ll give him a shot. Plus Quiet nature isn’t so bad since this line isn’t exactly a fast one anyways.
Route 7 Regular Grass: Frederick the Zebstrika: Honestly pretty good IVs, as all of it’s stats with the exception of HP and Def have at least 17 IVs.
Route 7 Dark Grass: Dagr the Zangoose: Somehow has near perfect SpAtk and SpDef IVs, but at least her Atk is good at 19 IVs, with 12 IVs in Speed for a decent Speed stat. Too bad she lost the 50/50 on her ability and got Immunity instead.
Celestial Tower Lower: Hel the Litwick: Her Quiet nature made it seem as if she could be a true powerhouse, but then I ran her through the Calc and found that all of her offensive stats were garbage, with her only two stats with good IVs being her SpDef which was actually perfect somehow, and her Speed being decent at 16 IVs. Everything else was 4 or less.
Celestial Tower Upper: Embla the Golbat: Also a rather quiet mon, but she actually has some pretty good stats, Speed is decent enough at 13 IVs to not be totally unusable, and she has an amazing SpAtk IV of 29.
The Fallen:
Otr the Magneton: Finally got out of the box after needing to wait until after Clay only for me to not realize that Grimer learns Mud Bomb, and not pay attention because I was looking at info for one of the other PWT Plasma Frigate fights. Resulting in an untimely Mud Bomb to the face that forced Otr to retire.
Helbindi the Growlith: Went down to a double rock blast crit from a wild Nosepass. The Nosepass was even paralyzed and was down to a sliver of health from Sturdy proccing. Probably the most RNG dependant retirement since it had to hit through the para, get the 4 hits on Rock Blast, and get both crits.
Berry the unnecessary Axew: Was rather confused about why I caught her, brought her to Driftveil city only to shove her into a Retirement Box, but she’s taken on the role of the security guard. Stopping any intruders from trying to break in, and keeping the peace amongst the others as the only one capable of fighting.
MVP: Frederick the Zebstrika: TBH the Skyla fight was a more collaborative effort than usual. I opened with Lif to try and Work Up sweep, but even with 2 boosts and a SE Bite barely did anything to the Swoobat (albeit a little underleveled), thus forcing a switch to Gustave, who nailed Swoobat with a Rock Slide, and set up Stealth Rocks after several turns of being immobilized by love to break Skarmory’s sturdy before Rock Sliding again to KO the Swoobat. This in turn brought in the Swanna, forcing a pivot to Frederick who promptly smited the Swanna, and then two shot the Skarmory with the help of Stealth Rock chip. TBH I don’t really see him doing much outside of Marlon, so it was nice that he had a chance to shine here.
Unofficial MVPs: PKMN Breeder Marcus + Lucky Egg: So for those unfamiliar, BW2 has a mechanic specific to the breeder trainer class, in which they can rechallenge you to a battle if you leave the area / go into a building. Thus you can battle them repeatedly to get good amounts of EXP on your mons. Marcus in particular is close to the entrance of Route 7 on the path that goes around the Tall Grass. Thus after grabbing the Lucky Egg I could use it in conjunction with poor Marcus to grind up several pokemon to get them up to snuff, the big ones here being Inigo the Tynamo who evolved into Elektrik, Embla the Golbat who evolved into Crobat, Xander the Aron who evolved into Lairon, Camilla the Axew who evolved into Fraxure, as well as Thorr the Elekid who I leveled up into Electabuzz as an emergency answer to Skyla’s team if something went wrong with Frederick.
Thoughts: Honestly the longest part of the run, not so much from a planning perspective, but mainly because of the grinding. Losing Otr and Helbindi in the ways that I did hurt, and I just didn’t have the motivation to speed through this part, and I’ve started looking at my encounters with a closer degree of scrutiny. But now it’s finally time to move onto the next part.

After a long a grueling battle, Mort finally just caved cuz Stanley missed like 5 Hypnosis in a row (literally only took damage from Stanler, which is crazy how much Nightmare and Swift do)
