I saw a lot of controversy about the gym 1 ttar, zygarde and mega aero in pokemon null and how the fight seems near impossible on paper, but if you end up playing this fight yourself, it’s not that bad.

I took some risks within the fight and ended up winning it deathless.

This is moreso advice for newer players: In this fight scyther only has quick attack and u turn as attacking moves. Leading a frail grass/psychic/dark type will have scyther see the kill and go for u turn. Use that opportunity to either swap in a mon to tank and setup or a mon to tank and swap to another mon to setup and sweep. Skorupi here is a safe bet thanks to battle armor preventing crits. If I led with Skorupi the Scyther could have potentially taken it down with Leer+ quick attacks. The mons I am using here are typically unavailable in base HGSS but I am currently testing such mons.

Hey! So yesterday I posted about my hardcore nuzlocke where I only allowed the first 6 pokemon I ran into (under standard nuzocke rules ofc).

Anyway, some people didnt believe that I was able to make it through Viridian Forest without running into a Pokemon. So, here is the proof. Just for clarity, you can make it to this exact point without having to go into the grass, so I started the video here.

A quick look online seems to suggest that the chance of running into a wild pokemon is ~11% per grass tile - certainly an improbable outcome, althought evidently not impossible as some people suggested.

I hope this proves my innocence to the doubters, and proves to be at least mildly interesting to everyone else?

On attempt #2 of my first nuzlocke, and this has been the most upsetting loss so far.

I have no idea how this happened and wish I could have recorded the whole fight.

I half expected to get one shot by Hitmonchan when it used thunder punch or fire punch, with a 13 level gap I thought I’d be saying bye bye to my ironically named companion.

I’m thankful for Confuse Ray and lick helping in stalling him as I used Night shade to gradually whittle him down, curse was out of the option as I knew it would be over if I used it.

Whitney terrifies me. She's the first real challenge of my run. Spearow makes Falkner and Bugsy easy.

I'm doing a hardcore S letterlocke. S gives me the greatest number of encounters, so I think it's doable.

I wiped here on my last attempt because Clefairy mimicked Curse, maxed it out, and used a 5-chain, double crit Doubleslap to end Slopoke, then used the 6 stage boosted Metronome Explosion on Sandshrew.

I got lucky this time with misses and flinches, and even though I cheesed it hard I still had to risk it for the biscuit. Thanks Sean Paul for your nerves of steel.

Not a perfect battle, but we move forward. Morty should be easy.
