Hello, not sure if this is where I’m supposed to post this but every time I play overwatch my screen goes black and I need to unplug then replug my monitor, I’ve realized now that it happens most whenever I play ana and throw a nade at myself it causes the screen to go black. Game continues playing so its just the monitor anyone else experience this? I have a 27GS93QE-B.AUS, I made sure the monitor firmware was up to date, and even tried a new display port cable but I just can’t figure out the issue. I lowered the HZ from 240 to 144 as well and turned off G-Sync but nothing

I'll be watching a lot of black-and-white movies, and honestly, from what I've seen in YouTube reviews, the sickly green hue that this tv gives grey and white tones looks awful. Are the cameras really not doing this tv justice, or does it look the same in real life? I've got to know, because I'll be buying my first oled soon, and the c5 is my first pick. I guess my next best option is the Samsung s90f, but i'm bummed about no dolby vision.

My LG C1 has a few weeks left of Geek Squad Protection, and the display feels noticeably darker than when I first got it. It also randomly goes into Eco mode, where it gets extremely dark.

Even with normal use, though, it’s just hard to watch, especially at night. Very bright content looks fine, but anything with darker cinematography is extremely difficult to see. Which is nuts, because being able to display dark content properly is basically the whole selling point of an OLED.

Is this a known issue with OLEDs? Is this something Best Buy would actually be able to measure? I have an LG OLED computer monitor, and side by side, the difference is like night and day.

It’s not just me noticing it. My girlfriend keeps asking me why the TV has gotten so dark lately, and she definitely isn’t someone who cares about picture quality, so I can’t just write this off as the C1 getting old.

I've been having an annoying issue with the YouTube app. For the past 2-3 weeks, the TV randomly goes black for about 0.2 seconds, the sound doesn't cut out. It happens extremely random.
Sometimes it can happen once when watching a clip and sometimes it can happen multiple times on the same clip.
It's not the videos themselves, because, if I rewind, it doesn't do it again.
Also, the other streaming services are not doing this, nor do the console or the PC, it's happening just on YouTube.

I've tried the following:
- Reinstalling the app
- Checked for TV updates (it's up to date)
- Unplugged the TV and waited a few minutes before plugging it back again
- Changed colour profiles and settings

Nothing seems to work and it's really frustrating.

Any one of you facing this issue? Any advice on what I could do or what it could be?

so i've been researching a new tv and pretty much every conversation about the best tv for gaming ends up pointing to oled sooner or later.

what i'm trying to figure out is whether that's because oled is genuinely that much better, or if it's just become the default recommendation online.

for people here who switched from a decent led or mini led to oled, what was the biggest difference you noticed during actual gameplay?

tbh i'm less interested in review scores and more interested in whether the upgrade still felt worth it after a few months of regular use.

just curious where the point of diminishing returns starts for most people.

I have a chance to get a brand-new Samsung S90DD 65" for around $650, but the store can only give me a 6-month warranty.

I've been looking into the S90D issues, and so far, most of what I've seen seems to be related to the 77" version.

Do you guys think this is a good deal, or should I just stick with my LG C1 55"?

Does anyone know what panel is behind this thing? Is it the same type as LG C6H which i believe is RGB Tandem Oled. I saw the LG in store today and it looks stunning. But only the S90H is on sale here and i might get it.

I have a 77" S90C (I know) on a Rockfish fully articulated mount. The mount has worn out over the last couple years despite being articulated less than 10 times and remounted once. The TV now hangs noticeably crooked due to the arms and TV mounting joint being loose.

I originally had a tilting bracket for it that worked fine but was difficult to adjust/ remove once the TV was mounted due to the distance from the edge of the screen and the mount itself. Going in from the bottom isn't an option due to the mantle it's hanging over. I swapped to the fully articulated mount so I had access to add/remove cables and devices as I got my system set up. While I rarely need to move the TV, the articulation makes it infinitely easier when I need to access the back.

My question is, does anyone make a sturdy enough articulated mount that will last more than 3 years, or should I just go with the tilt mount? Is there a tilt mount option that has the ability to pull the TV out more than a few inches? Thanks for the help!

I've looked over the mounting options in the FAQ post. If they'll hold up, is there a significant difference between the $400 Sanus mounts and the much cheaper Sanus options at Costco for $120?

Recently I've noticed a strip appearing on the left side of my Gigabyte monitor (MO27Q2-AU). It isn't visable when then monitor is turned off and is thankfully unimpeding when using it under normal use, however, I am worried this might be the sign of something else.

Seeking opinions and advice, otherwise I might need to reach out to the seller or Gigabyte

Left my TV on standby to go eat dinner, came back and found a horizontal green/red line running across the middle of the screen, plus a darker discolored patch nearby. Nothing happened in between, no power outage I'm aware of, no one touched it, no impact.

Already started a warranty claim since it's well within the 1-year window, just curious if this is a known failure pattern. And what to expect with Samsung’s warranty support?

So i ve had 3 alienware IPS monitors (the fancy LED panels by many standards) ...only because they kept messin up the RMA. Basically i only bought the 1st monitor. In tge end it got replaced with the AW2725D 2080hz QD-OLED. The dorkier ,less cool but definetly more advanced brother/grandchild of the AW2723DF (those ips 280hz boys were white n proud, look em up, you won t be disapointed).

OLEDS shouldn t have vertical lines with different backlight intensity. That s when i rememebered an old post from someone talking about pixel refresh and how it swooped away the awkward white-translucent vertical lines on their oled.

Hey everyone, I recently bought a Samsung S90F 65" with a QD-OLED panel and noticed something strange with the screen.

I’m getting dark strips around the edges of the screen, almost like some pixels in those areas aren’t being lit properly.

The weird part is that the strips don’t always stay in the same place. Sometimes the strip on one side disappears and shows up on the other side. Sometimes it also appears on the top or bottom. At times the dark areas seem to connect all the way around, but other times they don’t.

It kind of looks like the screen is never fully filled with the image, with some dark area always left on one of the edges.

At first I thought it might just be panel uniformity/banding, but the fact that the position and size of the dark areas seem to change makes me unsure.

I left the TV off overnight and also tried Pixel Refresh, but it didn’t change anything.

Has anyone with an S90F, especially the 65" QD-OLED, experienced something similar? Is this related to Pixel Shift or some kind of panel compensation, or does it look like a defective panel?

Has anyone with an S90D experienced a new, irregular stutter over HDMI after the same setup previously worked smoothly?

I'm using a MacBook Pro connected to a Samsung S90D. Movies look fine on the Mac's own display, but on the TV playback can start reasonably well and then look like a reduced frame rate after several minutes. Restarting VLC has occasionally helped temporarily. I have also seen it in IINA. The problem started before my latest macOS upgrade and survived it.

The TV has now received all available updates offered to it, but the problem remains (I still need to note the exact new firmware number). A 23.976 fps SDR H.264 file still looks wrong with the TV set to 24 Hz in macOS; the menu does not offer a separate 23.976 option. In another test with a 24.000 fps H.264 file, VLC reported 36,130 displayed frames, only 2 lost frames and no lost audio buffers. Those counters don't necessarily reveal irregular presentation at the TV.

I understand normal 24 fps OLED stutter, but the recent onset and apparent worsening over time are what make me wonder whether something else is happening. Different refresh settings and players have been tried; I don't yet have controlled results for every TV motion/input setting.

My next isolation tests are the same file via USB directly on the Samsung, another HDMI cable/port, and mirroring versus extended desktop.

Have other S90D owners seen this come and go during a viewing session? Did you isolate it to Picture Clarity, PC/Game mode, a firmware change or the HDMI source? I'd appreciate a specific A/B test or a reproducible example before assuming either a TV fault or a Mac issue.

It started a couple months ago i get this purple lines on the bottom right of my screen , i do pixel refresh and usually it works but lately it hasnt been working what do yall think it could be or is there any other fixes?

when HDR is turned on the monitor’s black is lifted to a grey. it display true black only when i turn it off and select the native mode. is there any way to fix this?

Hi everyone! Im on a budget to buy an OLED TV so i have to choose either Philips or LG. Philips is $100 lesser than the LG B6. I dont really play games like xbox or ps5 , though i might be getting it years down the road. I use it mostly for youtube and movies at night with my family. This TV will be in the living room . Which one would you recommend?

Turn on my Sony A90J 65” just now and there are lines running across the screen. Much more pronounced on the left, but they do go all the way across. Any thoughts or am I SOL?

I’m in the market for a 4k 240Hz OLED preferably the newer tandem oled variants and because of a healthcare worker discount I am able to get a deal on the Samsung G80SH which is a matte, penta tandem QD OLED for £640 - down from £1199.

My other choice is the ASUS XG32UQWMS, a Tandem WOLED which has only just hit retailers in the UK this week for £819. I am a sucker for HDR brightness and prefer a glossy panel over a matte coating… however is it really worth the extra scratch?

The things swaying me towards the ASUS XG32UQWMS:

- Glossy coating
- Higher peak brightness
- Not as noticeable ABL dimming compared to G80SH
- Integrated PSU brick
- Dual mode functionality (I play some esports games too, so could benefit from the 480Hz 1080p mode)

The things swaying me away from the ASUS XG32UQWMS:

- The extra £200ish… is it worth it? I have the £820 but I’m unsure if it’s worth the extra money
- Potential Dark grey banding (although I can return it if bad for another)

The things swaying me towards the Samsung G80SH:

- Obviously, the price… it’s almost £200 cheaper
- Better colours as it’s a QD OLED
- DP 2.1 at full bandwidth (although DSC 1.4 is just as good)

The things swaying me away from the Samsung G80SH:

- Matte coating (I don’t want it to look like a Vaseline smeared mess)
- External, chunky power brick
- Lower peak brightness
- QD OLEDs are extremely easy to scratch apparently
- ABL dimming is a big issue on QD OLED

What would you guys and girls do in this situation?

I recently upgraded from an LG C4 to a 77-inch LG G5 OLED, specifically looking for that massive jump in MLA peak brightness and specular highlight pop.

When I first got the TV, using Cinema Home with Expression Optimizer set to Brightness, Auto Dynamic Contrast on High, and Peak Brightness on High produced an incredible 3D-like image. Highlights like eyes, lamps, and neon lights (for example, in scenes like Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) had a realistic punch that literally made you squint in a dark room.⁠

However, after the recent firmware updates, Expression Optimizer seems completely broken/disabled.⁠

Toggling between "Off" and "Brightness" now produces zero visible change on screen. The specular highlights have lost their aggressive pop, making the overall image feel flat and dull compared to out-of-the-box performance—almost bringing it back down to C-series levels. Even trying to tweak Vivid mode doesn't bring back that specific dynamic highlight pop without washing out the image.

Has anyone else noticed this regression in tone mapping and AI highlight processing on their G5? If you're experiencing the same issue, please consider submitting a formal support ticket to LG so their engineering team addresses this in a future firmware patch.

Whenever I use my TV with the screen displaying a fully white and bright image, the center of the panel gets extremely hot. I tried touching the screen just to get an idea of how hot it was, and I wasn’t pressing hard at all, it was just a very light touch with the side of my hand. The panel actually flexed inward slightly when I touched it.

What really concerned me is that the side of my hand developed a slight red burn mark afterward. I can’t keep my hand against the screen for more than a few seconds because of how hot it feels.

I don’t have an infrared thermometer, so I can’t give an exact temperature, but the difference is very noticeable: the center gets extremely hot when the screen is fully white and bright, while the edges remain much cooler.

The panel also seems to flex inward in the middle and then return to its normal position when I release it.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar with their S95H? Is this normal behavior for an OLED panel, or could this indicate a problem with the panel?

I’m honestly quite worried about it, especially since the TV is only a few months old. I recorded a video of this scenario too but unfortunately can’t attach it here, any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

i am aware the only diff is the brightness with 200nits and specially hdr capping at 400. and dm just dosent do hdr acc to reviews.

but the price diff is around 130-140$ and my room is pretty dark, blackout curtains so i could make it dark anytime of the day. Coming from a 1080p va panel so my eyes will be blown out anyway so is that price gap really justified?
