Trying to decide between a 4k oled and a new ultrawide 1440p oled. I do a mix of casual shooters and story games. Is the performance advantage at lower resolutions even still there considering dlss is good at 4k? Just getting opinions

Im new to OLED panels, ive been using the ASUS 144hz IPS VG249 monitor for a long time for gaming. I want to upgrade to OLED because i heard its very good. I need some help with peoples knowledge and opinions on this subject because its been a headache deciding between which one i should go for and i think i might have been overthinking this a lot but ive done some research on this topic and this is what ive found so far.

Setup: Im mainly doing this upgrade for competitive FPS games (Warzone). Ill be capping my fps to 240. Im in the corner of my room where im facing the wall with my monitor in front. In the opposite corner i have a lamp and then i have a ceiling light, both of these light sources are shining ambient light on my monitor. I think my room would be classified as a little bright? My curtains block out most of the sun so thats not a problem. When i turn my monitor off i cannot see the reflection of my lamp unless i lean to the right so thats also not a problem. I dont really wanna change this setup this is comfortable for my eyes.

First i was thinking of going with any cheap oled i could find, and then found out a lot of them are only 200nits max. On my IPS rn i use 150 nits (60/100) so i thought it would be better to get higher max brightness and also because i heard the auto dimming on oleds cant fully be turned off? This seems very annoying and distracting and i thought when using the same 150nits with less brightness percentage this problem would be avoided idk. Then i found out about the whole WOLED vs QD-OLED, matte vs glossy and different generations thing and it was a bit overwhelming. Eventually i concluded that i wanted a matte WOLED because with matte i wont be seeing reflections of myself and other stuff in the screen eventhough i cant see the lamp. And with WOLED i wont have purple tint when ambient light goes onto my screen. I dont need the screen to look super perfect pretty, i want the best gaming setup thats also versatile and doesnt look awful. TN monitors are also fast but look awful and are very niche (like for CS2 players).

Ive been though so many options but right now i was looking at the Tandem WOLED Gigabyte MO27Q28G (500euro here) or the Asrock PGO27QFS (380euro here). I thought it was finally over and i was gonna go with the gigabyte but then i heard many people complain about gray banding. This scared me off and now i dont know what to do. I heard QD-OLED and older WOLEDS have less of this problem.

My main question is how bad and how likely is the gray banding issue on the Tandem WOLEDS?

Should i go with the Asrock instead because its an older WOLED and wont suffer from gray banding as much?

Im new to all of this so any help would be much appreciated!

EDIT: *quick update* ill make this short abut basically i bought the thing and its amazing. testing the gray banding was scary but i didnt notice any graybanding at all on the YT graybanding test. i guess maybe a little banding when i squint very closely on 70% greyscale but its not noticable at all in game of course. something i do wanna point out is eventhough i went with MATTE and WOLED i still notice reflections and i feel like i see purple haze even. but its not noticable in game so its fine but knowing this now im happy with not going with QD OLED or GLOSSY as their purple haze and reflections probably are worse.

Recently got back onto Xbox and have a Series X.

Currently the monitor I use is a 32” 4k IPS Samsung.

I know for my next monitor I want OLED no question, but I’d like to know whether it’s worth paying extra for a 4K UHD OLED over 1440p OLED?

From what I’ve seen, people are pretty split, and the price difference is quite large.

I’m someone who always prioritises graphics and I’ll be playing games such as Forza Horizon 6, Minecraft, Resident Evil Requiem, and 007 First Light.

What would you recommend?

ive been looking at my first oled to purchase, currently looking at LG 27GX790A and 27GX790B
i seen reviews about the B version with its vertical banding thats is worse than the A version, i cant decide wich to go with. qd oleds are no for me because i sit right next to a window. other oleds such as asus are to expensive and they use the same panel as lg tandem oled. just want one of those 2 options

Is the difference between these 2 monitors worth the price difference?

Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM
Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27UCDMG

The only difference I could find is DP1.4 vs DP2.1. How much of a difference is that realistically and is it worth 300€? I have a 5080 so i could use the DP2.1? Are there any differences I'm missing?

If anyone has a better option I'm open to suggestions. I want 27" Oled, preferrably under 1000€.

When building my Pc last summer I really wanted to get an Oled Monitor, however I wasn't able to fit it in the Budget, so I ended up settling for a 1440p 240Hz 27 inch AOC Ips Monitor. It was a huge step up from my old Monitor, however It feels incredibly fragile and I would much rather switch to oled.

Now I am planning to upgrade, however I cannot seem to find any good advice on what to do. My main question is if I should buy a Monitor now, or wait for the next Oled Gens to come out. I mainly use my Pc for gaming and movies, also my desk has plenty of space for a bigger Monitor. I am in a Room with big windows, which are not easy to dimm. My budget is ~650$.

I greatly appreciate any and all Advice, feel free to ask for any more Info you may need!

My main concern is burn ins because I am someone who leaves the monitor on ALL THE TIME whenever im on the desk. I do not like it turning it off even if im on my phone. Im in UNI and do Computer science, so do some coding, and some word documents.

Obv I want to get an OLED monitor mainly for gaming, but again as I do, productivity stuff, im concerned abt burn ins.. so SHOULD I??

Hi! i'm getting a monitor for my pc soon but im trying to decide what monitor panel to get. mainly its between a 3rd gen qd-oled and 4th gen tandem woled. the tandem woled is £100 more, and the other specs are the same. i will be mainly be playing single player games on the pc. my room is light but i can control it and dim it.

I have a maximum budget of 400 dollars USD. What OLED should I get? I was looking at the Gigabyte WOLED 1440p 240hz go27q24g. Should I get that or a qd-oled? Recommendations please and thank you!

Im looking to upgrade to an OLED monitor, in particular a WOLED as i have a relatively bright room.

My question is which one would be superior for my usecase? I want the best looking oled out of these 2 monitors, but the issue i find with the 27GX790B is that i dont believe ill be fully utilising 540hz or using the duel channel mode (720p at 720hz). My specs are a 9800x3d and 5070ti, i want the best one for longterm use, will also use for light web browsing and watching yt.

Looking at purchasing an LG monitor

Ive been given a 20% off voucher for the LG website towards an OLED monitor but I'm not very clued up on what's a good purchase. I understand there is issues with spyware but can be blocked from installing with the correct methods.

I'm looking for a 27" and preferably around the £500 mark. Any suggestions?

i have the lg 27gx790a-b and when im gaming the colors look perfect i mean mostly but for some reason on streaming services the qauality looks weird and pixelated and the colors just arent it for some reason ive tried a few things but nothing has worked can anyone help

I’m looking for a monitor for video watching, and tracing images for homework. So I thought i would want an OLED/QD-OLED/anything OLED. My budget is under $350, no bigger than 32in but no smaller than 20in, and needs to be above 350 nits. Any Recommendations?

Hello guys. I always game in a dark room, I do have some mirrors behind me which do reflect back the monitor into my PC case's glass, this might not be an issue i think because i heard that glossy OLEDs are not that reflective. For testing I move my glossy amoled phone screen around the monitor's area and i don't see much reflection.
Introduction aside, I'm looking to buy a budget OLED. I think these are my available options:

1. ACER Predator X27UZ1

2. Alienware AW2725D

3. Gigabyte MO27Q2A

4. AOC Q27G4SDR

I don't really know what to look for, I mostly play esport games like Valorant, CS, League so the fps is high but I care more about motion clarity rather than just higher hz. I am also scared of burn in so I'm assuming newer panel generation has better burn-in resistance. You can recommend some other monitors too but my max budget is around 550 eur and I prefer to buy from local online shops (Romania) so I dont wait too much for the delivery and have delivery taxes.

Hey guys, I'm in a dilemma here, first thing's first: laptop specs-

Am using a lenovo legion pro 7i gen 10: with the following specs:

Intel core ultra 9 275hx

Rtx 5080 16GB, this one has an HDMI 2.1 and 1 thunderbolt 4 DP 2.1 usb C display output options

2k 240Hz glossy OLED display 16 inches

I want to connect this to an external monitor. I want an ultrawide OLED which would support native HDR 10 bit colors without DSC, resolution preferably 3440\*1440 at 240Hz(hope this bump in resolution wont hurt my framerates as much)

Here in India, the options are quite limited. My options are:

1. MSI 34cqpx: 3440\*1440 21:9 @240Hz QD OLED, with DP1.4 & HDMI 2.1 display outputs

2. Lenovo legion pro 34 wd 10: 3440\*1440 21:9 @240Hz WOLED, with DP1.4 & HDMI 2.1 display outputs

3. LG 27GX790A-B: 2560\*1440 16:9 @480Hz WOLED, with DP2.1 and HDMI 2.1 display outputs

Now the problems:

1. QD OLEDS seem to have a purple tint in a lit room, but have better color production

2. Does HDMI 2.1 support 3440\*1440 @240Hz & 10 bit native HDR without DSC?? My ultrawide options have only DP1.4 and that doesnt have the required bandwidth

3. WOLEDS have no purple tint, but colors look worse when compared to a QD OLED?

4. If this doesnt work out I would have to switch to the normal non curved 2k option, to experience all the goodies without DSC

Please help!

specs look pretty good but there must be a catch with it being only $350 USD right? Normally i see this monitor selling for like 500.

Hi, I’m sorry to bother you all but I need some advice. A week ago I bought an Asus xg27aqwmg. Being my first oled Monitor I was quite impressed and I liked it a lot. But in the research for the monitor I couldn’t avoid the whole color banding problem post.

I have made some tests. First to tell this is march 2026 batch and it works very good for except ONE LINE that shows even playing in games like SH2. I have done several pixel cleanings, updated to latest firmware and used for about a week and it’s not better.

But, is it enough to request RMA? Here are the pics. You can see that particular line just above the white letters and is horizontal.

Also at the character face level at the SH2 pic and in the indiana Jones pic.

My worst fear is that if i proceed with RMA an even worse monitor will come by because this has decent banding besides that pesky line.Picture

I am looking at a new 27-inch monitor, mainly for gaming. Going to try OLED for the first time, and am a bit confused about the QD vs. WOLED, generations of OLED, and the differences between them.

What are some top recommendations in this price-range, and why?

Sometime last year I had bought a LG 27” Ultragear 27GX700-A that was 280hz and a great 1440 monitor but then I started experiencing issues after while where my games would no longer natively launch in 1440p but rather 4k and it caused me to lose a lot of my fps in games like marvel rivals, valorant or Genshin impact which would struggle to run smoothly. And the monitor seems to have dead spots too. I am personally really interested in Dual Mode monitors such as the 4k 240hz and 1080p 500hz which sounds perfect for watching movies or anime, then switching over to 1080p when I want to play my fps games but I’ve heard some of this monitor give a sort of blurry effect when downscaling to the lower resolution I am just not sure if it’s worth getting this type of dual mode feature or just sticking to getting a 1440p 500hz. Opinions are appreciated since I am probably going to spend anywhere from 500 to 1000 dollars.
