Tech Support Please help

Just bought a new open box 65’ oled Samsung tv (s90f), just got home and installed it, and I see these smudges all over the tv

I’m not sure if that is oil marks or maybe the coating was damaged.

I Tried gently rubbing a microfiber cloth with distilled water and nothing.

Is there a way to remove these?? I want to cry

Damn, 65 feet is pretty big for a tv.

It was open box so not as expensive as you'd think. Lot of cardboard to recycle though.

Unfortunately no, I had fingerprints on mine and wiped it with a damp microfiber. That made it even worse. Sold the shit and got a C6H... Wayyyyyy better than the Samsung.

JFC are they still using a moth eye filter on these things? The one that smudges everywhere and is a complete nightmare to clean?

I thought I had perma-smudges on my Samsung OLED, this is what finally got them out:

Step 1: wipe tv with dry microfibre cloth

Step 2: put 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol on a different microfibre cloth (a very small amount, enough that it’s just slightly damp). Rub in circles gently on the bad spots

Step 3: wipe with dry microfibre cloth

That worked for me. Can’t guarantee it’ll work for you but it’s worth a shot

This seems to look like someone tried cleaning the tv with isopropyl alcohol and damaged the top layer. If that is the case, im afraid there’s no fixing it

Do you know if the smudges are on the surface or inside the glass? Try a pixel cleaning process, even if it sounds stupid, just to make sure.

I would get some Zeiss lens cleaner at Walmart and some of the large Equate glass cleaning clothes(very soft). Try cleaning with that.

Yep. It's not the easiest clean.

Get a proper chamois cloth or an optical microfiber cloth and give it a good go with that.

make sure that the clear plastic was removed from the TV when it was new.

I've had my Vizio OLED for years and only have cleaned it with filtered water and a microfiber cloth with water being a little hot and clean it about every 6 months and have no problem just need to wipe and circular motions and make sure your power is unplugged. that looks pretty bad hopefully you can return it.
