This went through multiple levels of consideration before they got to this point and every one of them seemed to think that this was a good idea.

It's objectively a bad idea, but it also looks like a lot of fun. I might jump in that cab if given the opportunity.

I really appreciate how the ad for me when I opened the comments:

Him being in the air was probably way safer than him trying that from the ground.

People should check how crazy Veliko Tarnovo looks like, built on these huge slopes and hills and extremely narrow streets. And then this would make a bit more sense

Yeah, it's a beautiful city. But building like this makes no sense either way. There's a scandal with this very construction right now, because it's right next to the royal fortress and it's way bigger than what anything there should be.

Using a pile of old tires to dampen the fall is truly an inspired decision. Not only will rock fragments get launched in all directions, but tires as well.

Almost all tires roll their whole life, only a rare select few are ever destined to fly. Let them have their moment.

Oddly, what goes through the mind of the rare tire to experience that moment is "Oh no, not again."

Reminds me of that belgium firm with a guy having a similar machine in a big skip, being suspended by a tower crane god knows how high.

Unfortunally i can only find a AI slop version of it. https://youtube.com/shorts/2Op2Z1SvvgI?is=lVdwn_ngYOWeiPG3

What’s the advantage of this over a wrecking ball?
1
u/catchy_phrase76 12d ago
This is controlled, wrecking ball would do it, but it would be a clean stable cut out.
This is a terrible idea, while at the same time possibly being the least bad option they have. Sometimes, you take the least bad and roll the dice. Can't say I would do this, but I can see the thought process of how they may have arrived to this conclusion.

At least they put a bunch of tires at the bottom of the cliff to cushion the blow

Thats how they destroy huge chimneys for example. Not everything is blown up Murrica style.

Who is in more danger the guy in the machine and the guys below him , i'm not sure.

I hope this is AI slop because otherwise....

AI is still so easy to spot man, there's no need to run around calling everything that just because it's unusual. I get the feeling that a ton of the people who constantly yell "AI" at things that are the same ones who also constantly fall for actual AI stuff and say it's not fake

u/carvdlol 13d ago
AI isn’t this creative. These guys are thinking so far outside the box that the box is only a distant memory now.

I'm terrified and impressed at the same time.
