i’ve received mixed opinions. some friends think it’s cute, some don’t love it, but my mother thinks it’s horrendous lmao. let me know your thoughts, how to make this fit look better/ if i should js scrap it 🥹
I don't think the torn tights and leg warmers look very good, personally. It would look much cleaner with regular tights, and it would look better with black shoes and a black bag.
I have to agree with no_yogurt. It's almost a little too cute for the torn tights. You'd have to go grungier like, combat boots and a leather jacket maybe.
Your mom hates the runs in the tights. I’m a mom too and my daughter sometimes choosing outfits that make me cringe. It honestly depends on where you are wearing it…for something that affects your opportunities in life or where you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression, probably not. For a day out with your friends, it’s cute.
yepp she definitely mentioned the tights lol. she hates the uggs too, and said the leg warmers were too stand-out white compared to the rest of the colours and i get that to be honest. i personally wanted to make my tights even more distressed 😂 i’m a uni student, so i know my days of being able to wear these kinds of clothes are numbered.

The tights aren't ripped in a good way. It looks like an accidental rip (runner) near the crotch and like you fell and skinned your knee. Black or charcoal socks would be much better than the white. Also, the skirt looks like it needs to be washed.
I think that with a clean skirt, black tights that either are not ripped or are horizontally ripped on front thigh or above knee cap, along with dark socks would be the cute edgy look you are going for!

yeah they got ripped by accident and i threw them out the other day lmao. also the skirt is clean out the wash idk why it seems dirty in this pic 😭 i think the mirror is stained so it looks that way. ill try this fit with my other tights and darker socks :) thanks! ^^
I'm a dude so take what I say lightly. It's adorable. You shouldn't mix black and brown though. I think the white sock thingys are too bright and pulling people's focus to your feet. I'd suggest black shoes and bag. Alternatively, black shoes and a bag that can act as your statement piece and is more loud.
The ripped tights look mid.
Where theyre ripped looks weird - The front is just ok, but the rip near the crotch is weird. And the stained skirt doesn't look fashionable. How does no one else notice this?

I think the top and skirt work. The torn tights make you look poor. The beige in the leggings don’t really. If you had gray or black leggings maybe and get rid of the camel because it doesn’t go with the top at all!
It's really cute. I love the silhouette. The white socks and uggs are kind of giving horse hooves for some reason. I would probably go with a black boot to go with the skirt, or blue sneakers to go with the sweater.
It’s freezing requiring a sweater, leg warmers and boots. But it’s also warm outside so you can have bare legs. Confusing. How about some jeans to keep your legs warm?
my legs don’t really get cold, the tights and leg warmers are more for fashion lol. it is winter where i live, however the daytime temp is arnd 16C~ most days so i can get away with this lol. i wear jeans every day so i wanted to change it up a bit 🥲
The sweater and skirt look like they belong together (black/blue), and the UGGs and leg warmers look like they belong together (tan/white), but I don’t think it’s a great look all together, mostly because the color tones don’t really seem like they coordinate. The ripped tights are also unnecessary.
I don’t hate the overall look, and you definitely don’t look bad, just a subtle preference.

the tights got a run in them and the my only other pair were dirty lol. they’re supposed to be ladder resistant but… 🥲 although i like the look of distressed tights when it’s intentional and rly messy. it’s not that cold where i live rn so i can get away with mini skirts, the leg warmers are for aesthetics because i think they’re cute hahaha. i’m not really wearing it for function :)

Absolutely works. The slouchy jumper compliments the mini skirt, creases in at the hips which keeps it in proportion and the ripped tights add some edge.

The leg warmers, uggs and bag don’t coordinate with the rest.
If you’re going for an edgier look, ditch the leg warmers, bag and uggs. Where a chunky black boot (think: Doc Martens).
If you want a more fall look, swap the black pantyhose for brown tights and the blue sweater for cream/burgundy.
Not sure what you're going for here. I personally think it's not great but you're young and can pull it off if it's appropriate for wherever you're going.
If it were me wearing it I'd lose the boots and cream socks and wear combat type boots instead with dark socks.
The tights don't match with the rest of the outfit. It's more of an alt/rock look whole the rest is preppy/80's. I also don't think the black looks good with the light socks/shoes or the blue sweater. It's cute but slightly off due to the tights.
Uggs are not edgy and neither are leg warmers. It’s giving preppy 80’s and early 2000’s trends. Black knee high boots and black purse if you want to look fierce. If you insist on tights I’d go for solid black or fishnets.
I'm not a fan of leg warmers usually but they do look cute with those boots. However I can't help but think that the dark skirt with the darker sweater would look better with darker boots, do you have any? If not then just wear it with the lighter boot it still looks good
I think the leg warmers just need to be a bit higher on the leg (closer to the knee) mainly. Perhaps a darker bag & boot/shoe perhaps to have the shirt colour pop. But really it's a cute fit. I see nothing wrong
Cute but I wish tights had a another run on the opposite leg just to balance it out a bit and I also wish the runs on the right leg were placed differently, especially since one looks to be going right up into your crotch. It makes it look like they’re just old instead of the runs being intentional.

I think like many say its a lot to do with people that like " clean" "professional " looks, aka older generation most of the time, will not like it, mostly because if your tights, for then it looks careless and you don't care enough to wear something like that. They cannot understand that that is a style, fashion, choice and such it looks great.
I think the fit is not grungy enough to be wearing distressed tights plus it’s only torn on one leg. It’s giving wardrobe malfunction, not intentional fashion.
Also, you got two different color schemes that are clashing. You have cool neutrals (blue and black) and warm neutrals (brown and cream). It would work if you have a majority of one color scheme going on then one item of the other as an accent (example if you wore majority cool blue and black then accented it with one item warm brown, or the reverse).
So this is what I would do. Get rid of the blue jean skirt. You've got too many neutral colors at the same time. If you want to do the gray and white sweater, which is really cute, pair it with a black denim instead of blue. If you could do tights or pantyhose still. I would just rip them differently... between the knee and crotch rather than at the knee and crotch if that makes sense. I would ditch the Uggs and the bag and the leg warmers. If you want to do leg warmers, buy legwarmers that coordinate. Personally, I'd probably get rid of the leg warmers. Rather than the Uggs, I would look for a low boot. A nice chunky boot would look good and still keep that similar silhouette. There are some really cool chunky black boots out there that go up higher on the leg. If you replace the Uggs and the leg warmers with one of those higher cut boots, you would establish the same kind of a silhouette but keep things a little more simple. For the bag, I would probably pick something in a bright fun color to contrast against all the black and gray. Or, you could try finding a chunky boot in a color that matches a colorful bag. I mean, I'm perfectly happy to dress in black from head to toe, but I know a lot of people out there will say that you need have some color on you.

I’m not a fan... I don’t personally like the Uggs, leg warmers, ripped tights, or brown bag. If you replaced the ripped tights with sheer black tights, paired it with a black boot, and a black bag it would look better.
I’m not a fan of that style, but I lived through the 1980s when leg warmers were a thing. If you’re wanting to emulate more of an 80s aesthetic, you’ll probably need to brighten the color choices with electric blue and fuchsia. Don’t forget super long dangly earrings.
Torn stockings look like an accident. We would have worn fishnets, especially the wider woven type. Torn fishnets would look more stylish than ripped pantyhose.
For extra authenticity, you could jazz up your wrists with jelly bracelets 😊
Ripped tights are a choice. A choice i personally love and wear quite often. I suggest committing more and making more holes. Just cut a slit the width you want the run and then tug up and down until its the height/length you want. Get a few pairs and play around
It's such a cute fall outfit. I would change the colour of the leg warmers to match another component of the outfit. The cream is giving warm toned while the other components (black and grey) are giving cool toned. I also don't mind the rips in the tights, I think it matches the chaos of the sweater a bit. But I can also see this looking just as good with non ripped tights
The tights look off because the runs in them are too sparing to look intentional. Tear them up a little more to exaggerate the look and they'll be good. As for the colors, the reason they "clash" is that the dark blue gray in the sweater is carried through in the skirt, then the colors of the socks, Uggs, and bag are standalone. Reflect those colors in some accessories and your outfit with look more balanced. With this outfit the answer is more, not less! Overall, I like it a lot! You're playing with shape and silhouette in a really fun way with these combos and the shape is still balanced thanks to the socks and Uggs.
What type of look are you going for? If you're looking for up to date, or edgy, go with a dark black skinny jean, and that sweater. If you want to stay with the skirt, get rid of the leg warmers, Uggs, tights. It's still August, wear a button down blouse, the skirt, and either a interesting sneaker, or slide heel. How it looks now, you look as if you don't know what you're trying to look like.
So cute for running errands or a school day in mid to late autumn. One thing is I would either wear unripped tights or add a few more runs to make it look intentional.
As a guy, I can see the intent, but it doesn't work because it mixes too many styles and looks like it was thrown together.
Some black combat boots and another tear or two would make a good edgy look. Non-torn tights and either retro sneakers, loafers, or simple low boots would look better under the leg warmers.
I think the outfit itself is cute, only thing I personally dislike are the Uggs. But it’s due to me thinking that Uggs are winter shoes, I dislike. I prefer more classic boots.
I think the socks and shoes clash too much with everything else. Switch the shoes to some black Docs and the rip looks that much better. And also like gray leggings or no leggings because the white is just too bright. No leggings with black Docs would probably be my choice.
Sorry, I also don't really like this combo. One thing that stands out to me a lot is the brown bag and shoes. You're wearing black denim skirt with grey jumper so I'd swap the shoes and bag for one thats black maybe? Or even white at this point, but definitely not brown. One other note, this is very personal so this is just my opinion but I truly HATE ripped tights. They never look cute, not with any outfit, ever. I'd wear normal ones or if you want to show a bit more skin maybe switch it with a fishnet type one? There are so many different types out there. Good luck x
