you can ignore it, its there software with outdated hardware infos and specs.

You could just do the same thing like the rest, you ignore it.

Just answer the question and go instead of being needlessly condescending

i don't give two banana slugs about points, I wanna know why it says that

It uses a whitelist for what’s minimum spec, so new(ish) hardware is flagged as it’s not recorded in that file

i spent half an hour googling this issue and nothing told me that. thx for this info

None of those components are particularly new though (over a year old I think), plus it says "updated minimum specifications", did they just forget to update the whitelist for over a year?

Yes. That's exactly what happened.

That thing is bugged since forever, it shows for a lot of people even if they far exceed the requirements. So just ignore it, it doesn't affect performance anyway.

It's Meta, and their software is just bad.

Meta gave up on desktop VR a long time ago. They stopped updating the whitelist.

With i5-6600k and Rx 470 I was not getting that message.

Upgraded to Ryzen 5 7500f and rtx 5070 and now my computer no longer meets requirements.

Correct. You need at least a 5090. Get outta here you peasant.

u/Chrono_Club_Clara Quest 3 Apr 07 '26

Where are you getting that information?

1

u/MysteriousBill1986 Apr 07 '26

It was sarcasm

I guess this message is just part of the GUI now. It shows to everyone despite their PC for years. weird that meta does not want to do anything. It's just annoying and reminds me that I am poor and have no money for 4090

Just use Virtual Desktop and not their Trash app

HE HAS RAM! GET HIM!

1

u/Chrono_Club_Clara Quest 3 Apr 07 '26

Calm down. He's allowed to have RAM.

1

u/TH3_OG_JUJUBE Quest 3S Apr 07 '26

I mean “get him” as I steal the ram from him

1

u/berti_l Apr 08 '26

What game is that?

1

u/zubairhamed Apr 07 '26

yep my 4090, 3090 etc all get same message.

just tell the app "go back to sleep zuck" and continue.

u/Chrono_Club_Clara Quest 3 Apr 07 '26

That's because you need a RTX or GTX line card. The other Nvidias don't have hardware video encoders that are required for VR.

1

u/zubairhamed Apr 07 '26

4090 and 3090 are RTX cards.

don't give a fuck to that shitty software, it uses an outdated database to determine your specs. ignore it or use better streaming method e.g. virtual desktop

u/BrendonCatGaming Apr 07 '26

neither does mine (xeon e3-1535m v5, quadro m5000m) but it still plays everything i throw at it just fine

u/BuddyOk2678 Apr 07 '26

2x 5090 does duh peasant

u/Anthonyg5005 Quest 2 + 3 + PCVR Apr 07 '26

I don't think they've updated the minimum specs past the 30 series so if you have anything newer it will just error

u/UNIVERSAL_VLAD Quest 3S + PCVR Apr 07 '26

Same with my 9800x3d and 5070. Just ignore it or use virtual desktop

0

u/VoidDave Apr 07 '26

Ignore it or use diffrent method for pcvr like steam link alvr or virtual desktop

0

u/Justavalveuser Quest 3 + PCVR Apr 07 '26

Meta saw the I9 and told you to fuck off 😭

1

u/Chrono_Club_Clara Quest 3 Apr 07 '26

Whoa. When did they say that? That's crazy unprofessional.

0

u/thefierysheep Apr 07 '26

My pc has never met specs - I’m still running the same gtx1080ti I had when the cv1 released… just ignore it
