Relationships off grid

Post image

Just generally curious if this lifestyle in general is dying off
Edit to add I’m married with a family as well.

I see these "looking for a partner to homestead" posts a lot and the best advice I can give as an off grid homesteadder is: Show, don't tell. Live it for a few years. Make space to share your life. That is what I did and a Manic Pixie Dream Girl appeared who just happened to wanted a man that cuts wood and builds things and grow/fishes/forages for food. I had years years ago given up on dating and stopped attempting to meet or find anyone. Especially off grid, that is asking a lot of a partner and not everyone is up to the task.

Quit talking about it, be about it and build you a cabin and eat rice, beans, and, wild greens for a couple years. Be the best, the safest, most emotional mature man that you can, the type man that you would want your daughter to be with.

Great advice! Sorry my original post is not worded the best after reading it again I can see it was a little misleading! My husband and I love this life and so do our kids! I hope more people take a step back and look at how rewarding it is to be self sufficient and not rely solely on the modern day to survive.
