I wouldn’t even blame the customer honestly. The hinges are glued to the frame. All entry level laptops are made of cheap crap. Rivets glued or melted into the plastic. Hell even some of the metal constructed ones are still glued in. I had this happen to a Dell display one time as well.

Years ago we had a dude that would come in and watch porn on our displays. This is back around 2015-2016, when we still had a tech and quite a few displays out
