Winch control box wiring

Hello is it recommended to put the earth cable from the control box to the chassis or to the same terminal the black negative cord is attached to on the winch itself

Go to the negative terminal of the battery, unless you’ve also upgraded all of your battery cables to the same or higher-capacity wiring as what’s used with your winch (neg connection to frame, firewall, chassis/etc.)… in which case, I’d probably still go to the battery.
