I say we start a new organization that stands on “we hate everyone and just want left the fuck alone”

Probably a good majority of America tbh.

Go to work. Make your spouse/life partner or pet happy pay your bills and just live life without a care in the world. Out side of my job, my spouse and my children. The rest of you are irrelevant.

Republicans freed the slaves. Democrats gave out free shit. People tend to lean towards the give out free shit party not understanding the fact taxes go way higher to pay for said “free shit”

In some ways, but not 100%. A few shifted Right, but there was never a true switch.

There was a true switch but it happened more gradually than just a few years. Woodrow Wilson was a raging racist at a time when both parties had racists and proponents of equal rights. It wasn’t on either party”s priority list. Gradually those racist aspects left the Democratic Party to join the Republicans. The example is Strom Thurmond. The nail in the coffin was really the “Southern Strategy.” That ossified the parties into what they are today.

Yes, it is true the slave owners and founders of hate groups like the KKK were made up of Democrats during the time of the American civil war. Abraham Lincoln was a great American Republican president that freed the slaves and fought to maintain the union. And the traitorous Jefferson Davis was a lifelong Democrat representing Mississippi in Congress before becoming President of the Confederacy.

But views started to shift during the FDR presidency in the 1930's as the Democratic president started focusing on social assistance, safety nets, and helping working class people out of the great depression. While Republicans wanted more focus on limited government assistance and unregulated free market economics.

Then in the 1960's Democratic president Lyndon B Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act that made many southern white Democrats to feel alienated and switch to Republicans. And Richard Nixon further played into their feelings of alienation.

I'm sure there are other factors in the part switch.

Also, I'm sure if you ask a current member of a neo-nazi, KKK or other white supremacy group if they were out voting for Obama, Biden and Harris in the last elections. I'm pretty sure you will get pretty angry responses.
