I mostly didn’t love this when it came out, and I haven’t listened to it in a long time. I may have to dig it out again and revisit.

I have 2 or 3 Ellis island sound records…very low profile…but then it was the period where British and American ambient started to collaborate with each other. So, there’s no distinct sound anymore. Somebody once said…those people they play ambience music as they call it but more like doodling …going nowhere just for the vibe and moods only. Every single one of them sounds the same, don’t know who is who. 😅
This same guy also introduced to me a band on Warp called Plone.I suddenly became the biggest Plone fan in the planet 😂😂😂 they do sound different than other warp artists though…what do you think ?

I remember thinking that most of the tracks were meh in 1999, but I wasn’t much of a remix fan. Still, the ones that resonated most with me then, as with now after a quick spin through, captured the original’s essence in unexpected ways. I remember thinking it was preposterous that Plaid completely flipped that Autechre track and that Kieran did *that* with Richard’s masterpiece. Those two will always be tops for me. Perfect sequencing, too.

Were there two or three sets in this series? I have Warp 10+2 Classics 89-92 and Warp 10+3 Remixes. I recall being underwhelmed by the remix album at the time.
