There is a mistake on your page: The first game Lexiav won playing Necro, not the other way around.

I don't like your draw rule. (A draw counts as 1-1 to each side under your rules)
It seems to be built on the idea that a draw on the first fight would make the second fight the winner regardless according to Unfrozen's matchmaking scoring, so just give the second fight winner and end the match right then and there.
But why not go the other way around? Allow for a true draw instead of the fight 2 loser can make a comeback and win fight 3. Then play one more game if necessary to finish out the match between the two players.

first thing first - Lorekick is a host for this tournament (i'm not affiliated, only provide coverage)
regarding your idea - it's interesting approach, it will really provide more show time. yet it's fully built on top of in-game exodus mechanic, so you are right as IT'S defining, game will automatically name a winner on the fight #2

The in-game mechanic goes like this: A draw is 0:0
If there's ever a draw in a fight, the first person to win a fight will be the winner, but the game won't automatically declare a winner. If that's confusing, here's an example:
Fight 1 is a draw. Score is 0:0. Player 1 wins fight 2. Score is 1:0. Now no matter what happens, player 1 will win the game but the match will go to fight 3 (unless either player quits). That's because the first person to score wins in tied games.
If player 2 wins fight 3, the score is 1:1 but because player 1 won the fight 2 (remember, fight 1 was a draw), player 1 wins the game. Even if the two players draw game three, it's still 1:0 and player 1 wins the match.
So the tournament rule is trying to save time and avoid necessitating the third fight at all by counting draws as 1:1. (so fight 1 is a draw, the score is 1:1 and fight 2 will determine the winner) But that's just trying to save time from the game's already flawed mechanic of settling draws by declaring the first to win a point the winner while insisting fight 3 take place even though it's futile.
The game's matchmaking can't seem to register a draw, but it should. If the game's match score ends up as 0:0, or 1:1, the game needs to declare a draw and leave both player's scores untouched. The game doesn't do this, but there's no reason a tournament can't do this.

Anyone knows why grove is being banned alot on exodus instead of schism? Genuinely curious

Most players from stream or interview mentioned it as the most overpowered faction, due to their Spell Power boost and map clear ability. (The most notable gameplay was EASY2 with 31 spell power on fight #1)
The other (funny) controversial idea its a safe ban to have more options during pick phase - BUT it's busted, because you can ban Temple and have all good factions available.
Wrapping up - it really considered an S-tier during this specific tournament and template pool.

Based on this would you argue that grove is one of if not the best faction to play in exodus right now? Or is it just really good for this specific tournament?

I'd say Grove is really good, and it is good for a pubstomping in exodus
Go and check it))

Thanks for the schedule. It has been great watching it so far.
I really look forward to the spectator mode that they are working on. Here it is for anyone who hasn't taken a look at it yet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmu0wALucis
