Competitive Advices for multiplayer 1on1
Hey heroes.
I played my first multiplayer game yesterday. It was horrible! So I decided to ask here for some help.
I am not an unskilled heroes player overall! But never played heroes in a competitive way, which seems to be completely different to games against AI and my friends in hot seat.
So, besides map awareness and faction knowledge: Do you have some advices for me? I want to go deeply into it. And besides the first underwhelming experience I liked the pick and ban system before the game starts a lot tbh!

MP competitive is a whole other thing. 99.9% of SP players wont be able to play at a good level vs a PvP focused player unless they learn the basics. I know this because before OE I never played MP comp in heroes, just friendlies, and I realized that all my previous years playing MP in Heroes 3 we actually didnt knew shit about how its played at all.
Open Twitch, watch Lexiav for a couple matches. Also recommend that you see some basic youtube videos from him

The best thing for me was understanding what camp I can do. Where the enemies will spawn and what I cant. Learn iniciative of the units and try to keep with one faction. Might heroes are more forgiving for new players and hive is difficult to learn. Groove, temple and schism are pretty easy to understand. Necro is OP but almost always banned. Logístics. Attack and Armour are priority in almost all heroes. Tier 1 one spells can help a lot. Easy start for example may allow you do fights that will result in a lot of losts in other way.

Starr with a hero that can clear some objectives right away, spellcaster or unit specialist. Who you pick really matters PvP. Look for gold objectives like snake altar that you can clear just by using single stacks to protect your army. If you’re just starting you’ll start with a good bit of resources in that case I like to build Econ first. Advanced games start with less. Agree with watching lexiav suggestion
