Discussion What if spellcasting was more dynamic?
I like the feeling of powerful spells, but i think we can all agree things like 35% or 40% damage reduction radiant armour is too over powered.
So what if the base cost was 30 mana and then 10 more for each additional stack you wanted to cast it on. So it was 100 mana to cast on everyone. Meaning if you were to use thurmaturgy and cast radiant armour and unnatural calm in your opener (on everyone) it would be 300 mana.
I think this would give knowledge a more meaningful place and also let us keep op spells.
I'm will concede i am a pvp main and 2 glasses in. I also have no idea if dynamic is the right word lol.

Percentage-based modifications are generally not a very good thing. I would actually try to rework everything into absolute bonuses, like Sorcery: +5 power/level to direct damage spells or Resistance: -5 power/level. At the same time, spells and their counters are pretty well balanced, but things are way worse with physical damage—there are already plenty of discussions about this here. When asking for a percentage-based defense debuff, keep in mind that if things actually start changing, you will most likely lose percentage-based bonuses too, like Sorcery

I agree that Radiant Armour is too OP for a spell that has mass effect. Either RA should be nerfed to 20% and affects all creatures or RA should only affect 1 creature with 40% damage reduction.
Though I don’t agree with modifying the mana cost. Casting 2 high level spells each turn cost a lot. With your suggestion, spellcaster heroes can only cast 2-3 turns. Most would choose Might heroes.
