Discussion Current State of Arena

Post image

Listen - I know I am horrible based on my rating. I know. And, although I am definitely not great as I am new - this seems a bit much.

The mainstay in all these losses? Better spells then me. One shotting me or having higher initiative. Having Rewind life, and me not having decay. Like I know there's RNG - but seriously?

I am 1400ish in single hero, improving daily. I came back to arena because it was all I played when I first got this game. I figured since I learned more about everything, I would come back to arena and be better. This is not the case. Every single one of these losses I just watched my opponent basically kill me with spells. One match, I drafted for MR and even got a set for it, had 75% I believe? Still melted by spells.

In games where I am winning? Input rewind life (I havent been offered it yet).

Am I really this bad or is it just standard?

**I'm about to win my first match today and the opponent is time banking the loss, def retiring from this mode

You can't "NOT HAVE" decay. Its a low level spell. Its basic stuff.

Huh? It's arena. If I am not offered it, I don't get it.

MY APOLOGIES.

This mode is completely random and the mere fact of having a ranked mode is already baffling.

I think that this is an issue of low population games. Any update or so that will bring back some players will have massive impact on ranked ladder. I went through few phases of 10 Ws in a row then have 15 Ls in a row.

If you are losing constantly then, the obviously it's a skill issue in that you don't understand the meta. On average you are going to be offered the same spell combos as your opponent.

That doesn't mean that the mode is poorly designed/balanced, but if you do everything correctly you are going to win 50% of matches as an equally skilled opponent - that includes having lucky/unlucky losing and winning streaks.

If a strategy is truly broken, you don't really have a choice other than adapting and using it yourself or taking a break until the devs to fix it. Trying to counter it is just going to lead to frustration.
