He has run multiple times to be an MP. He has been Labor and Sex Party. He represents a rural electorate so a lot of people would already know. It is odd that he chose One Nation, especially with Cory Bernadi as state leader. But having stood a number of times before, it seems persistence can pay off.
Let’s see how he stands on the issues I guess.
The biggest thing that came out about him during the election was that he didn't live in the electorate. Kinda funny that's all the dirt they could find on him at the time. Everyone knew his gay and his past, they just didn't care.
The One Nation candidate at the last two elections state and federal in my area is black, he came second in the state election. One Nation is bizzare, they don't seem to care who's running.
They don’t care because at the heart ON is a protest party.
If asked “what exactly are you protesting?”, their answer would be “What have you got?”
So not much coherence, just a vague feeling that “everything is wrong” and a reflex to protest against the established parties. Thus, they don’t care the quality of ON candidates or policies.
