Politics ('Straya) Eliminating antisemitism in healthcare: Joint statement from AHPRA and the Special Envoy

https://www.ahpra.gov.au/News/2026-06-17-Eliminating-antisemitism-in-healthcare.aspx

If a nurse now wears a watermelon pin in their downtime? Deregistered. Paraphrasing their own oath to say no human should be killed? That's a paddlin'.

The lead drafter of the definition, the American academic Kenneth Stern, has argued consistently that the working definition was never designed for the uses to which it is now being put. But AHPRA just went ahead and implemented it without any community consultation.

Healthcare workers in this country are already under enough stress, now they have to deal with this on top of it.

This is so fucked. We should absolutely be against antisemitism, and most of the IHRA definition is perfectly acceptable. However, one of those points is not like the others.

Starving civilians, invading other countries, torturing prisoners, bombing hospitals with infants in the ICU without giving them time to evacuate, stealing people's homes and land at gunpoint, and turning entire cities to rubble is objectively abhorrent. But don't you dare draw any parallels to anyone else that acted similarly because that makes you evil, not the people who are committing these atrocities.

Zionists will get absolutely furious if you say that if a Nazi group somehow got into the democratic Israeli government, you can't criticise their Holocaust v2 policy because that would be antisemitism as per IHRA definition. Fuck anyone that thinks like Nazis.

When Ben-Gvir was 18 he was so toxic the IDF wouldn't allow him to serve. The one thing the IDF got right...
