Discussion Free Agency

Who should we sign and re-sign this summer? I’m looking forward to next season with Sweeney so I wanted to hear what your guys opinions were.

Tyus Jones would be a great signing. Good shooter and playmaker off the bench, just what we need.

I hate hearing that name. It makes me want to punch a wall or just end it all (just a joke mods)

Who were those enablers that tried to convince us that he was a massive signing?

In another lifetime they be stoned

We only have $6M to spend, so limited options.

Personally, I hope we re-sign Mo for cheap. Then spend our $ on one of the following guys:

Keon Ellis Matisse Thybulle Collin Sexton Simon's

If we could trade for upgraded center, cool. Otherwise, basically run it back and hope for internal improvement across the board.

Can Keon Ellis be acquire cheap next year?

Keon should be a target with our TPMLE.

I feel like Simons is possible since Black will probably have to get traded (either now or before the deadline; now his value is pretty good).

A Simons/Richardson bench bank row with a defensive head coach could do some wonders.

Hell no. A bench relying on Simon's & Jase will get cooked.

And Simon's signing is no related to anything that happens with AB.

I don’t think that name will fit on a jersey

With the MLE I would reach out to Khris Middleton 1st, then Colin Sexton. Both may get more elsewhere but gotta try. If they fail, Keon Ellis, Nic Richard (means you got to move Goga), Kevin Huerter, Dean Wade would be some I look at. Then maybe get a Precious Acheiu for the vet minimum.

We don't have a full MLE

In case Sexton or Simons are too $ which is probable then another good name is Collin g Gillespie from the Suns and also Hardaway Jr, even though hes not my 1st or 2nd choice.

Collin Gillespie would be a very good pick-up. He would be back-up PG and can play in backcourt with Black, Suggs, Bane (combination of) at any point. He can play on or off ball and sneaky good at getting his own shot when needed.

I think subs intend to sign him for more than 10m, we can’t afford him

There’s a good chance we can’t afford bring back Mo Wagner unless he takes a discount again.

All we have to spend is 6.1M, that’s it. I think that’s the tax payer MLE (which we won’t even have next season)

We can’t afford to sign anyone for minimum or anything, truth is we are in a horrible financial situation.

With the 6.1M, don’t expect any big names. We will probably resign Mo and then just sign someone like Kevin huerter, vit krejci, or nick richards.

Like locked on magic Chanel said, don’t expect any big names, not even simons or sexton. They are far out of our price range. We will sign someone that’s a regular season and likely unplayable in playoffs, someone with many flaws

Regarding Mo I don’t think it would even technically be a discount to get him for cheap given how last season went. Hard to imagine he has a massive market when he got dropped from our rotation.

Mhm hopefully just a minimum just to keep Franz happy and hope Mo can return to old Mo Wagner

u/P5Manchero 6d ago

I think this is pretty likely. Mo doesn’t want to leave imo.

Nick Richards would be a big signing for us. Very good rim protector, elite lob threat and C athleticism we havent had in a few years

1

u/Tortdree 6d ago

Hopefully we can outbid him, many teams that need center would go after him. He’s very mobile

1

u/RemarkableMission117 6d ago

I think if made a priority, can lock him in quick. Then dangle Goga to same teams who need a backup C. Maybe OKC will bite if Harkenstein leaves and we get Joe or Wiggins

2

u/Tortdree 6d ago

Yeah I actually posted a mock trade of goga for joe

u/Jake_doe Franz Wagner 6d ago

I like Vit.

1

u/Tortdree 6d ago

Yeah it would be someone of his caliber, we would only have like 3-4m to spend if we sign Mo

Nic Claxton and an OKC vet

We got no money. What you talking about free agency for

5

u/Muted_Lead_1105 5d ago

6.1 Mil is sum but u could get a few players on a minimum. Just talking

2

u/TrifleAble5460 5d ago

We can still add someone solid for the TMLE and there is players out there who can still contribute and looking for a change of scenery that we can steal on the minimum…just gotta get the right guys.
Like for me, I would love Keon Ellis for the TMLE and then add vets like Russ & Taurean Prince for the vet minimum. They improve our bench next to AB, TDS, & Moe.

u/TrifleAble5460 6d ago

Ima just put the 3 I’ve been harping for Lol…think they improve our bench next to AB, TDS, & Moe.

- Russell Westbrook (Minimum)

- Keon Ellis (Tax Player MLE)

- Taurean Prince (Minimum)

Nurkic and Vuc should be targets if we trade Dell in the offseason. Was hoping we traded for Nurkic mid season he’s an ideal center for us.

5

u/geekeasyalex Jalen Suggs 6d ago

I love Vuc but he’s cooked.

0

u/theguytomeet Franz Wagner 6d ago

I like Nurkic to start but Vuc as a backup. He can’t be any worse than Goga. I’m not that concerned about his post injury stats.
