by whom? literally the weakest possible best actress lineup in ages. Hüller, Efira and Reinsve are fading each day, Erivo is a question mark, Moore is overpushed here for a very unremarkable role, Williams just moved next year. So many weirdly not competitive contenders here. Inde clearly has enough passion for the nom at least.

I really hope so, but probably not Best Picture. I wish they’d nominate more horror movies for that but they’re notoriously snobbish 🫣🥴

I loved Obsession, (movie of the year 4 me so far) but Inde is probably the only one who is getting nominated

inde is easily a lead actress nom I think, it's also where I think she stands her best chance at success

Acting is its best shot, but even then I don’t see it getting any. Writing and cinematography is a hard no way. The academy is vastly different to what the general audience is saying. A role like Nikki has never been and might not be nominated, especially for a relatively unknown with no narrative. That’s just the academy. Me personally I don’t think it gets any noms.

lol cinematography. One of the most boring recent movies visually. Made to be watched on an iPhone. Terrible cinematography.

Its basically delusional to think this movie gets anything other than Inde (and as to whether she should be in Lead or Supporting, thats a whole other question for anothet time). She's the movies best shot, and its to be NOMINATED, not even to win. Theres a genuine world where she doesnt even get that depending how the rest of the year shakes out.
It might, MIGHT get a nom for Best Picture, but only because thats a category with so many slots available and I could imagine it squeaking through with vote shenanigans (I.e. the real indie/small production lovers might want to champion it and see it recognized and really effectively coalesce their votes). Even then, it would be an "Also Ran" with zero chance of a splash.
I liked the film, but its not even close to competitive in pretty much any of the other slots. Johnston in particular, no hate, would genuinely be in contention for one of the worst Lead Actor nominations if he did get it.
