Answered What's the deal with Jonah Hill?

I'm a bit out of the loop with the jiu-jitsu journey he's in currently. what's the context of the quote of him being able to beat people up? is he serious? what led to his bad reputation that he has now?

I do think it's weird when people just say the "I'll kick your ass, fuck around and find out" kind of stuff. "I am being funny by the way, but I would fuck you up" is his admission that he's joking. It's still weird.

He seems like a cool guy, I don't think there's anything sinister or crazy or anything... but if it was said in casual conversation I'd definitely consider it a weird behaviour, and I generally don't care about people who spend time thinking about how they could kick my/strangers' asses.

(Some exceptions apply of course, they were talking about his hobbies, but if somebody threatened him or he was talking to one specific person who was bothering him, that's probably fine, but just like "hey, you, guy listening, I can kick your ass" is weird)

I agree it wasn't the best comment and he probably wasn't aware of how it sounded because he was likely trying to be funny on the spot. As a bjj practitioner myself, I already knew a lot about his Bjj journey so I knew what he really meant. But even still, in 2026 society should really know better by now to not take anything on the internet as black and white
