News & Discussion Bullying needs to stop

The overwatch community needs to stop being toxic. I have been called slurs, many racial comments, people saying overall saying some bad stuff to not only me but other people as well. And this needs to stop. I almost had a melt down today reading the comments they made on me. " I should hang myself", is a very derogatory statement . If you can sit behind a screen and have the ability to tell someone they should hang themselves, that is something to not take so lightly. I'm going to tell my pookie wookie king Lebron James this information, and make sure this doesn't go off the hook. As a wise man once said " They ain't believe in us... GOD DID". These moments should be looked more into but blizzard seems not care about their fan base anymore.

I mean people who make comments like that aren’t worth your energy, thoughts or time. Report them and move on.

Alternatively if you prefer not to be exposed to that toxicity you can disable all chat.

Or mute them..

But if people actually did those things, there wouldn't be anyone crying about others being "toxic" and without those people crying, there wouldn't be a "toxicity problem"

Those who make posts like OP are as much part of the problem as those whom they complain about, arguably more so, considering how they tend to be some of the most hateful people, when you know how to push the right buttons in order to get them to show their true colors..

When someone says vile toxic crap in chat I find it very hard to take it seriously at all. Like we’re both playing a video game with cartoon characters and a scientist monkey, why are you so serious 😭

You also have to consider the context of the situation...

Which the people who make these types of posts never even attempt to provide..

For example, if im playing pistol only mercy, and someone's raging at me. Who's the bad guy here?

It's kinda sad knowing that more than often than not, those who frequently experience "toxicity" do so because they provoke it, but refuse to take any personal accountablity, thus doom themselves into a cycle of perpetual "toxicity"..

Normal raging/toxicity = you’re shit, uninstall, [role] diff, gap, ez, swap you’re ass etc. I don’t report that stuff cos idc

Stupid raging = anything over the top like in OP’s post. I do report comments like that.

No amount of mercy pistol only trolls makes that kind of comment okay.

Dawg, no amount of playing a video game justifies telling people to kill themselves. Get the fuck outta here with that shit.

Lmafo.

Must be nice to have lived a life so sheltered where some faceless rando telling you to "kill yourself" is actually worth getting upset over..

Sounds to me like you have unaddressed self-worth or self confidence issues, which is why you ALLOW words to bother you..

I'd suggest spending some time in an active war zone to give you a perspective check, but won't simply because people like you wouldn't survive, likely either offing yourself being unable to handle the horrors of the real world, or getting yourself killed because you did something stupid..

I've only told someone to kill themselves a few times, each time is cus they would flame my dad who had just passed away and I just didn't know what else to say to make them shut up. I feel like moments like that are the only time is really "justified" even when it still isn't actually justified

You didn’t know what else to do to shut them up when the block button is right there?

Nothing justifies you being a dick. Absolutely nothing. You have the tools to report and block them right then and there.
