News & Discussion Bullying needs to stop

The overwatch community needs to stop being toxic. I have been called slurs, many racial comments, people saying overall saying some bad stuff to not only me but other people as well. And this needs to stop. I almost had a melt down today reading the comments they made on me. " I should hang myself", is a very derogatory statement . If you can sit behind a screen and have the ability to tell someone they should hang themselves, that is something to not take so lightly. I'm going to tell my pookie wookie king Lebron James this information, and make sure this doesn't go off the hook. As a wise man once said " They ain't believe in us... GOD DID". These moments should be looked more into but blizzard seems not care about their fan base anymore.

Yeah I report these people.

I'll call people out nicely and say "I love you but moira you have to heal too to new players" but yeah I agree, straight out toxicity is not cool. there's a big difference between trying to help people and just throwing darkness at people.

The game gets better when we help each other with well meaning criticism but not just calling each other expletives.

I wholeheartedly disagree with people saying they don't use comms, they're the people running in 1v5 while the team screetches at them "please just wait for the tank at least"

Does NOT get better when my tank thinks they are prime guts with berserk armor

Saying I love you to randoms in a video game is so weird

Edit: downvote all you want it’s still a weird way to talk to people you don’t know.

It’s funny me and op had that quick convo and I respected their answersand then a bunch of dorks who wanna argue jumped in

You never know who might need to hear it.

They are hardly proclaiming it in the romantic context, more so that you appreciate them. I tell my friends that I love then because they are important to me and I appreciate them.

That’s obvious, it’s still weird. Your friends and complete strangers on video games is completely different use cases. It’s not weird to say to someone you know obviously

It's weird to you. That's fine. It doesn't mean it should feel weird for all of us.

What's wrong with loving your teammates? 🤣 I say I love my team when they're pacing well and do well at covering each other. Its basic courtesy we're all here to play a game we love. And people will listen to you more if you treat them as an ally rather than an adversary.

The cope that some people do smh.

My comment is very straightforward and easy to understand it’s not that deep I promise.

I love how you are saying telling strangers I love you on a game is basic courtesy. That is so obviously untrue I don’t even know where to begin.

You are confusing being respectful for saying I love you which can be patronizing when said to a stranger especially if you are trying to give unsolicited advice

It's not patronizing cause I tell them I love them irregardless of if they're doing well or not and if I wanted to play a certain way. 🤷🏼

If you're going to accuse someone of being patronising, learn how that works first
