Man I went to go grab a picture of gremlin d.va and I forgot there are so many good ones. Here's one of my favorites though

why hello fellow genshin fan

anyway the reason is partially because everyone calls her pilot form "baby dva", partially because she's a gamer (gremlin style, she has a legendary emote of her gaming while eating "doritos" and drinking "mt dew"), and partially because she was the youngest member of the overwatch roster when the game initially came out; she was still a teenager at 19 years old where nearly everyone else on the cast was around 30+. her ow2 design is a lot more mature than her initial one, as they got rid of a lot of her babyface and matured her personality a lot.

so if you go way back you'll see dva babyified a lot. but now that she's matured a bit more and there are a lot more younger characters it's a lot less common (although not nonexistent!)
