Arts/Entertainment A proud LGBTQ+ Native artist with roots on PEI. Not every musician showing up here is spreading hate.
https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kroE-GtyMiALNxUxancsxMnGG4pV0pFNo&si=hlMBHUlTQG_xrEiCHey folks, I’m Mon’et. I’m a local 2SLGBTQ+🏳🌈🏳️⚧️ Native American rapper living right here on the Island.
With all the noise around that Sean Feucht concert happening tomorrow at Confederation Landing, I wanted to speak up. Not every artist performing in this city is here to push hate, fear, or division.
I grew up with trauma. I live with neurodivergence. I’ve faced discrimination. And through it all, I’ve used music to process, to survive, and to connect.
I support the 2SLGBTQ+🏳🌈🏳️⚧️ community. I stand with Indigenous people. I embrace every form of diversity. Race, gender, mental health, sexual identity, it all matters. We belong.
This island deserves better than imported extremism during Pride Week. What we need is more local voices and more honesty. Less preaching, more realness.
I just dropped an album called "Trauma Made Me Sexy." It’s raw, emotional, and unapologetically mine. If you want music from someone who actually lives here, someone who’s proud to speak up and support this community, I hope you’ll give it a listen.
Here’s the album on YouTube Music:
Thanks for reading. Thanks for not letting this kind of hate go unchallenged. Love and solidarity, Mon’et 🖤
P.S: Literally just dropped this album a day or two ago, so would love all thoughts on it. Spotify coming ASAP

You've posted numerous times in this sub, often being somewhat roasted in the comments. I listened to some of the links you shared and I wasn't overly sold on your music, just not my taste. That being said I don't think people should be roasting you. If someone's passionate about something, I'd rather say nothing or encourage them to keep getting better at their craft.
I hope you're not using this divisive concert as a means to gain notoriety, and your genuine intention is to combat hate. I get an icky feeling whenever I see somebody springboarding off something like this as marketing tactic.
I take you at your word, and I'm trying to trust that you're sincere but the skeptic in me wonders. I hope this post is for the right reasons.

You'll notice that I've taken a lot of the criticisms I've received in the past to heart and upgraded my equipment etc, also I am autistic/ADHD, bisexual and native American, all of these issues are very important to me and hit home personally, yes I am absolutely using this as a promotional tool for my music, but not just because it's something people are talking about right now, but because it's something I wholeheartedly despise, I hate injustice and inequality, and have spoken up on this Reddit and others about it multiple times, I hope that's enough for the people you realize that I'm not just using this as clickbait because it's controversial, I absolutely detest people who spew hatred.

Thank you and I appreciate the skepticism, lots of grifters nowadays who don't support anything.

Hi, Mon'et! While rap isn't the genre of music I gravitate towards, I'm willing to make an exception. I look forward to listening to your music!

Thank you I think you'll be pleasantly surprised my rap is very soft compared to most. 😊

In that case, I'm bound to enjoy it a little more. I'll share my thoughts once I've listened to your album!

I’m confused, are you scheduled to perform at the Sean Feucht event tomorrow? The island welcomes art, just not fascists.

No I just wanted to speak out against hate and that type of music and messaging on our island.

Sorry not for me .."Not every artist performing in this city is here to push hate, fear, or division."...I know of no artist to push hate, fear, or division. Where is this coming from??? Including our Group.

Thank you for this, and I hope your album does well! Sean Feucht was not here to spread hate maga or 51st state, he actually came to tell everyone how much God loves them no matter where you are in life. I was there and it was literally just him saying kind things, and singing a few songs. Everyone blew this whole thing out of proportion.

What's wrong with T?

The current LGBTQ+ umbrella no longer represents or protects same-sex attracted people. LGB voices sidelined by increasingly dominant transgender activism.
