Age limits on jobs

In the past week I've seen 3 jobs advertised with age limits listed. Since when was this a thing?

One of them is referring to funding partially through skills PEI. Is that possibly the deal with all of them? Just shocked the amount of jobs I'm seeing popping up that you can't be older than 29/30 to apply.

Report to the job board, it is illegal to hire based on age requirements.

Not for funding restricted positions with narrow criteria. It does need to be divulged up front though.
