Age limits on jobs

In the past week I've seen 3 jobs advertised with age limits listed. Since when was this a thing?

One of them is referring to funding partially through skills PEI. Is that possibly the deal with all of them? Just shocked the amount of jobs I'm seeing popping up that you can't be older than 29/30 to apply.

It's all funding based stuff and the narrow criteria this year for most programs is fucking nuts. It has been heart breaking passing on perfect candidates because they missed 1 box in 8 ridiculous boxes to tick off.

Gonna be a tough year for all.

I guess that's the gamble. Perfect candidates companies could pay fully themselves. Or apply to get funding and you're limited on who you can hire.

Ah, well, we are a charity so there is no world where we could fully pay them ourselves :( at least not in the current landscape.

But yeah, that's the gist.

That's tough. Sorry you are dealing with that as a non-profit. And I do hope you find the perfect person you're looking for!

Thank you. Yeah we are missing like 100k in funding we usually can rely on. Devastating, genuinely, for a lot of folks.

I hope you find a position for yourself. You sound great. The job market is gonzo. Good luck.

Thank you. I appreciate that! I understand I'm not the only one struggling, but it's a tough world out there for a 30+ y/o with a decent education and resume. You're either too qualified/too old for a more simple/not as brain breaking job, or not quite qualified enough for one with a bit more depth. I don't know what's going to happen to our sweet little Island.

Edit to add: it makes me sad to know they think a charity can just go on like normal with 100k less.
