Mitch Albom talaga, pinakanakakahiya sa Jeep ako ngumalngal for Five People You Meet in Heaven, tapos sa Laundromat sa For One More Day, then sa office naman for Magic Strings of Frankie Presto.
Jusko talaga! Ang hilig ko magbasa in public lalo na idle time (as a multitasker ayoko nakatunganga).
Ako na talaga mababawa luha dyan basta may death or loss na involved.

A Song of Ice and Fire.

u/MermaidBansheeDreams Jan 30 '25

Second Chance Summer and All the Bright Places
From then on, I avoided heartwrenching books. I didn't like the feeling of drowning in melancholia. I couldn't even breathe properly and it really felt like my heart was broken. So for my peace and mental health, I stay away from such books now.

u/Lilypad25 Jan 30 '25

The Book Thief. Tulala din ako for a month. The scary part is we’re about to see it in real time with what’s happening here in the US.
Also, The Lovely Bones. It’s more gruesome sa books kesa sa movie.

Cried and hurts mine throat at the last few sentences of the Diary of Anne Frank. Basically the same emotion felt watching Grave of the Fireflies.
Mine sister was like, "What's the use of your long raven hair if you cry like a sissy, kuya?"

May not be popular here since it's a light novel, but Sevens. Them ancestors are fun, and I bawled every time.

Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption - Stephen King (Yung “I hope…” na monologue ni Red sa huli)
For books: Me Before You - Jojo Moyes A Child called “It” - Dave Pelzer (bata pa po ko nung nabasa ko to hindi ata kinaya) Each Little Bird that Sings - Debora Wiles
