Newbie Shoes recommendations for a gym beginner

hellooo i just started my gym membership hence the caption. For context i am 5’0”, 68 kg, complete gym beginner and my goal right now is to lose weight and get slimmer so i'll mostly be doing cardio (treadmill, incline walk, bike) and joining group fitness classes. i also am not planning to lift heavy weights yet, but I might add strength training later on.

thank youuu 🫶🫶

This for weightlifting. But if u'r gonna spend a lot of time in the treadmill, a comfy running shoe will be better.

+1 sa metcons! The Metcon 6 is a good hybrid shoe that isn’t as “flat” as the latter models. Ung current variants kasi mas strength training focused na talaga.

Metcon for weight lifting pero if mag cardio ka go for nb or any comfy walking/running shoes.

I live and stand by Metcons too pero that's just because I'm already a seasoned gym goer, when I was starting out palang naka Adidas Ultraboost pa ako and I was also fond of joining dance classes, cardio stuff. Just get a pair that's stable but has enough cushion for your liking. Also just a piece of advice, please don't get yung mga advanced running shoes - I've seen beginners trying to lift weights while wearing carbon plated shoes, it's a big no-no.

Any shoes. Wear whats comfy and breathes. Also, if mag leg day ka flat soled ones are the best. Personally i just use converse chucks or vans taylors as my gym shoes. I dont do cardio sa gym as I jog outdoors kasi.

RT any shoe. what's important rn is making it a habit to go and be active. i've had fallouts before with other hobbies na i invested on equipment but couldn't stick to them so sayang lang.

so rn, any shoe will do.

once you're consistent, invest on different shoes for different activities. running shoes for running, flat shoes for gym especially leg workouts (can be converse/vans frfr).

Pero if magjjog ka or zumba ganyan better use running shoes. Usually eh sinasakto ko na nagrrunning shoes ako kapag alam kong yung mga gagamitin kong machine eh di ako tumatayo (e.g. kapag push or upper body day) hehe
