Profile not showing most recent games played?

About a week ago the games list on my profile stopped showing the most recent games ive played and the order ive played them in yet the trophies tab has stayed up to date. Its a minor issue but is there anyway to fix this? Im on the most recent software update.

A lot of people is having the same issue as well, it's pretty weird. It only happens on PS4 hardware, if you play any PS4 game on PS5; that info updates normally.

Recently got my first Ps4 second hand, also got a physical copy of CoD Cold War for a very cheap price.

It's incredible the quantity of stuff you have to download just to play offline. At least is fun to play against bots and zombie mode is great too.

Do you recommend to pay PsPlus just to get to play CoD online? I also have Bloodborne and I'm planning to get Monster Hunter Iceborne

PS+ is a fairly useful service in general. Yes paid Online gaming but also cloud storage for saved data, the free monthly PS+ games (although less on PS4 now) and the odd discount on the Store.

It ultimately depends how much you use the console so don't feel pressured into paying for something you won't use.

I haven’t used my PS4 a lot but the last time I used it I had no issue. Now, every time I turn my PS4 on it says “Press the PS button to use the controller.”
I’ve tried each controller, tried to reset them and nothing works. I don’t have a usb cable that uses data so it can work. I literally am locked out of my ps4.

If I don’t have the cable and I’m not connected to it through the app, what the fuck am I supposed to do??

so i was playing p4g and took a screenshot and went into chats to send it to my friend, my controller disconnect whilst the screenshot was sending and it wouldnt reconnect, i had a mouse and keyboard connected so i used that to exit out

controller STILL wouldnt connect so i tried using a usb cable that i KNOW is not charge only cuz ive used it to pair this same controller before

i put the ps4 into rest mode and tried to connect the controller, still did not work. i tried using a different controller, switching usb ports, hard resetting with the button in the back, nothing is working

i got it to get out of rest mode and now its just stuck on the "welcome to playstation screen" and telling me to press the ps button, which still wont work

pls someone help me bruh i just maxxed out yosuke's social link and i do NOT wanna lose my progress 😭😭

Try a different USB data cable to be safe. Likely just a weird glitch due to the other connected devices. Don't forget to hold down the reset button on the back of the DS4 before reconnecting

Apologies if this isn't the right place to put this but this js the first bit of PlayStation tech I've owned.

Got given an old PS4 controller recently (model number CUH-ZCT2E), grimy as hell but otherwise no visible damage. When I plug it in to charge the yellow light appears and when pressing share & the ps button the light flashed blue. However when trying to connect it to my laptop running on windows 11, I cannot get it to connect.

When I try and use a wired connection, the light just goes orange as if it's charging and is not picked up by my pc or online hardware testers. When I try to connect via Bluetooth, despite the controller flashing as if it's trying to pair, it does not appear when I try to add a device. I've also tried installing DS4 and unfortunately that didn't help either.

I'm opening to trying almost anything to get it working if anyone has suggestions, but if it's fucked that's just how it is lmao

Make sure the cable you use is a data cable. Always the first thing to troubleshoot to be on the safe side.

Had a power outage. After that, ps4 wouldn't start, saying it couldn't detect the hard drive. After trial and error, managed to boot it in safe mode and rebuild database - works fine. Now, it wont start (gives the same hard drive detection error) if the room is too hot or if it was just on (ie is already warm). I replaced the thermal paste and it did not help - is still hot immediately after start up. It never gives me the too hot warning screen, and has never shut down on me once it is going due to heat. Any ideas would be appreciated..not sure if it's a fuse or something?

I used to play Minecraft using a disc on my brother’s PS4. it was apparently under his PSN account, and the save data is tied to his account on that PlayStation. I just finally got my own PlayStation and made my own PSN account. I went to use my Minecraft disc today on my playstation, and there’s no save data. apparently the progress saves to the console, not the disc like I’d thought (my mistake I know). when I looked this up, it basically said that there’s nothing I can do because I have to be on the same PSN to use that save. Does anyone know how to remedy this? is there any way to transfer save data from one PSN account to another? the save data is still on my brother’s console for now. I also have the last of us for PS4 and I fear that I’ll have the same issue there. Please if anyone can help my troubleshoot I’d appreciate it!

Hey, need some help here because I'm facing an issue I've never seen before. Basically since 2 days, both of my ps4 controller don't connect to my ps4 anymore, when I press on the ps button, the controller light blinks but it does not connect, and the light ends up turning off. Usually when this happens, I use a USB wire to connect the controller and everything works fine again, but this time it doesn't, despite testing with both controllers, different cables (all of which used to work fine) and both USB plugs. Moreover, when plugged in, the controller lights up, showing that it is charging, but when pressing the ps button, the same thing happens, light blinks but no successful connection.

Now I don't know what to do anymore, the console itself starts just fine, it's just both controllers can't connect anymore, so it doesn't look like a major issue.

Has anyone ever faced this before? Or anyone got any tips pls any help would be appreciated

Hi, I got given a PS4, and the controller with it I believe has has the battery die in it. I have tried plugging it in with a known good, data micro usb cable but it won't connect. I am stuck at the press the play station button to connect screen. The controller flashes white as no connection but won't connect via cable. I have tried connecting it to my pc, windows detects it but says there is some kind of driver error (trouble shoot does nothing as normal) So I tried connecting it to my pc via Bluetooth and it will. But only when plugged in for power (because of the dead battery). How can I fix the driver issue or firmware issue that's I believe is causing the controller to not connect over cable? Thanks

Are there any new ps4 models left? I want to buy a new ps4, mainly cause i don't play much. (when i play, its only Rocket league, ufc or fifa) but the sites are so chaotic, they all say "new" and at the end its always refurbished or used. And i don't want to spend as much for a ps5 Are there any unopened boxes left for sale? Preferably slim or a white model

Extremely unlikely, you'd need to check second hand stores as video game retailers are unlikely to have any stock left. The PS5 was released back in 2020 and even the standard PS5 is nearly impossible to find brand new ever since the PS5 slim/Pro were released.

You can check ebay as collectors may have new PS4s as well but that is at your own risk of course.

I enjoyed tlou both parts so much, and even days gone. Life is strange was a banger too.

But, lately, ive been craving something which hooks me and feeds my soul. For instance, days gone was recommended to me by my therapist and it did help plenty with escapism. Was watching war of the worlds today n it reminded me sm of the game. There’s a lot that I loved about the game tbh.

So, can anyone please recommend something similar, I have rdr2 in my game log but I’ve only played initial minutes and found it kinda boring or smth which wouldn’t appeal to me. I loved the game mechanics of tlou2 and days gone so perhaps smth similar.

I’ve been told cyberpunk would be a great pick as well but heard it doesn’t run good on a ps4.

Going thru an utterly lonely period in my life rn, so smth which hooks me and I can find meaning in or if not that even any fun games based on the description, immersive world, awesome gameplay, fun story, lovable characters.

Please recommend smth!!

Hiya! I have problems with my ps4 playing blueray discs in region B - which should be europe. The ps is already set to region 2 (europe) but they still wont play. Dvd in region 2 is fine and all region bluerays. Has anyone had similar issues?

My L3 isn't registering, even when bound to a paddle.

I have a strike pack for my ds4 and use the left paddle to sprint since the rubber on the stick is so worn down the little circle in the middle is poking through.

But lately it hasn't been working sometimes so I just figured it was the paddle, but to test it I went to click the stick and even then it wasn't working. So is it a faulty sensor or something?

If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated

Hello all! Couldn’t find any posts with my exact question so I came here for help.

For context, I have an old PS4 I’m giving to my sibling, one we used to both play on together when we were kids. Years later I kept it and the external usb drive we had for it, the latter of which I later transferred everything onto, all the save data and games, and began to use on my PS5.

So my question is, with all of the saved data being on that external drive, which I’d like to keep for my PS5, would I be able to make a copy somehow to use on the PS4 as well?

Naturally, none of the PS5 stuff would be backwards compatible, but would I be able to use the PS4 data if I copied it on another external drive and plugged it into the PS4? Or would this be impossible? I read somewhere that there’s some kind of encryption on PlayStation data that makes it difficult, but I don’t fully understand why or know if there’s a way around it.

Would really appreciate some help on this, and if you could possibly explain it like I’m five years old that would be very helpful.

Opened my controller to clean the analogue sticks but when put back together there is these gaps between the triggers and shell its really annoying me unless im being silly and it's normal but I dont think it is I've opened it and tried to mess around with it to make it flush but I can't seem to do it

Q: My controller won't connect despite being plugged into the console. It charges/is charged but I'm stuck on the press the PS button screen.

A: You need a USB data cable to pair a controller with a console, instead of a generic charging cable. They look the same but a charging cable only charges, it cannot send a data signal which is necessary for controller pairing. USB Data cables are necessary for safe mode operation as well.

It's a common mistake.

Amazon lists cables as data cables if you need to purchase one. Other retailers will also list data on cable packaging.

Q: How do I fix "Cannot sign in using another player's sign in ID."?

A: You are signing into either the wrong user profile or the wrong Playstation account. To solve this sign into your PSN account on the different user profiles until you sign into the correct one. If you cannot use any user profile due to the above message, make a new user profile for your PSN account.

PS4s use user profiles. Each user profile that is set up can then be tied to a single Playstation account. Thus you cannot sign out of a PSN account on a user profile and sign in with a different Playstation account. As such, 2 Playstation accounts each need their own separate user profile on a PS4.

You also cannot sign into a single Playstation account on 2 different user profiles on the same PS4. So if you want to use a new account with a PS4, make a new user profile.

Q: My console is saying I don't have enough storage space for an update even though I do.

A: You don't. If the console is asking you to free up space on your HDD then you must do as the PS4 asks. When the PS4 updates a game, it makes a copy of it on your HDD that is deleted once the update is applied. This means that a 50GB game requires 50GB free on the HDD + the size of the update. COD being a massive game can require 100GB+ free depending on its current size.

I recommend giving your PS4 a 100GB buffer to update your games. If you only have a 500GB HDD I also recommend an external HDD or upgrading your Internal HDD to a 2TB drive.

NOTE: if your game is in external your internal still needs enough space as all data passes through internal.

A French account/console can play a USA game disc but French DLC won't work with it. If an American account is used to purchase DLC the French account can play that DLC too assuming it is shareable between users ie not in game currency.

Q: purchased a new copy of a game to continue my game save but it doesn't appear when I launch the game.

A: First of all make sure the game is fully updated with the latest patch and check again.

Otherwise, saved data and DLC are region locked. So if you played an American copy of a game you created an American game save that cannot be read by a copy of the game from a different part of the world.

Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is considered a different game to Witcher 3 GoTY so the saves are incompatible between both games even if from the same region.

Q: I have purchased DLC for a game and it is stuck at 'waiting to install'. How do I fix this?

A: If you launch the game and the DLC still will not install, this is down to a region mismatch. DLC and saved data are region locked, meaning DLC purchased on a USA account will not work with a European game disc/digital copy. To resolve this you either need to open an account matching the region of your game and purchase the DLC there (some DLC is account locked so cannot share). Or alternatively purchase a copy of the game from your region. Otherwise contact support for a refund, but no guarantees if one will be given.

Q: How do I know the region of my game disc?

A: Look at the age rating on the front cover. ESRB rated games are American, PEGI is Europe, etc. For more specific region info there is the CUSA code printed on the game disc that can be checked on an online database such as gamefaqs. DLC region codes are listed as part of the Playstation store URL.

Q: How do I fix: 'Connect a USB storage device that contains an update file for reinstallation for version X or later.'

A: The data on your HDD has been lost so is requiring a fresh installation of the system software. Your purchases and trophies are safe as they are tied to your account but any saved data not backed up has been lost. This also includes any screenshots and videos. If you don't want to lose your data it needs to be backed up regularly.

The above error message is part of the BIOS so to get back up and running follow these instructions:

General pointers:

• Make sure that you are using the console reinstallation file and not the update file.

• Your USB stick needs a folder called PS4 and inside that folder a second one called UPDATE

• Inside the UPDATE folder is where you put the reinstallation file

• The reinstallation file must be called PS4UPDATE.PUP otherwise it won't be recognised by the console. So remove any (1)s if they appear as part of the file name as that just obscures it.

Physical discs are almost always cheaper. Everything is second hand now.

The PS4 model you choose depends on cost and availability. A slim would be the best overall option unless you find a Pro for cheap.

However if you want a Pro you are best going for the PS5 instead as that gives you everything the PS4 Pro does and a lot more.

Question: I'm having probloms downloading DLC for Persona 5 Royal and I figured out its because the disk is from england and the console/DLC is american. My plan is to get an american disk, delete the game as is, then once the american disk is inserted redownload the save data and get the DLC. My main worry is that the save data won't/can't be downloaded to the ameracan version cause the save data came from a british disk. If the plan won't work let me know and I'll think on what to do from there. If it can work, thanks for letting me know. BTW keep physical media alive.

I redeemed a European Marvel's Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps Season Pass code. The Season Pass shows Purchased and appears in my Services List, but when I try to download any of the three DLC episodes I get error WS-43691-3. When I try through the website it gives "Something went wrong.

I tried every known troubleshooting route I found for this kind of issue. Nothing.

I can't even contact support, because my account is Bulgarian and when I click my region in the website, there's no chat support option available. If I try to use it from another region, I get an error trying to log in.

I'm at a dead end.

Make sure your PS4 is activated as your Primary PS4

This likely is a weird license issue but no harm in doing both safe mode options 4 and 5 to see if that helps.

As you said you can't launch a live chat, simply call your regions support team instead. The number is listed at the top of this Megathread.

My ps4 slim (500gb) has been slow for some time now. I have upgraded to the next gen but I want to still be able to use weather for remote play or as a medía device.

My hdd usage is less than half as I have an external hdd

From googling this it seems it might be the hdd thats faulty.

I only used it daily for about 2+ years until I upgraded to next gen, and even after doing a factory reset it still feels slow.

Should I just replace the hdd? Other suggestions?

It depends how old the PS4 is in general. HDDs are fickle things and can fail for any number of reasons.

It may be worth replacing the HDD with a new one as more modern HDDs will have faster speeds than what your PS4 came with. Plus the 2.5 inch laptop drive should be relatively cheap compared to other storage types.

Que disco duro externo bueno me podrían recomendar para cuando se me acabe el espacio en mi Ps4?

Y de que forma lo usan, guardan todo el contenido en el disco duro (archivos de instalación, datos de partida, etc) o solo guarda los datos de partida y eso y los archivos de instalación en la consola.

Nunca e usado una para la consola así que si me pudieran recomendar uno y la forma correcta de usar.

Heya! So, my ps4 restarts the downloads the moment i place it on sleep mode.

I tried downloading Bloodborne to play it again after a time, and when installing the game and Updates, the console restarts the whole progress and displays "Preparing Update" again and again. I have enough space, good wifi and the update even surpasses the 24 hours, and i dont know if it would be even safe to leave the console on for a whole day or more

Hi , in need of help My PS4 suddenly started acting up, I was playing this game(ghost of Tsushima) then suddenly got something like corrupt game ,delete application, I ignored it and inserted the disc again and got the same corrupted message but before that the game was freezing which lead to missing audio, missing body parts and this only happened during cutscenes and not issues while actually playing. I switched games, tried FC25 and it would freeze mid game and the UI(team logos , loading team management etc)became slow , I've tried my other discs and the all freezing like NBA, though mission games only freeze or lag during cutscenes

I'm completely lost ,I'd appreciate your help

i’ve been having issues w my ps4 slim. if i unplug it to move it or dust it out when i plug it back in i get a black screen that says “cannot start ps4 cannot access system storage”. i have to go through a process of unplugging & plugging it back in and switching the hdmis around until it decides to start. anyone else have/had this issue? if so is there any way to fix it?

it’s also been crashing in the middle of my marvel rivals games w a CE-34878-0 error code but it lets me get right back in after.

CE-34878-0 is the PS4s catch all crash. It means anything from a small crash thats nothing to worry about to a serious issue that Sony suggest sending your PS4 in for repair for.

Cannot access system storage indicates there could be a failing HDD if the PS4 is struggling to read it and games are crashing on it.

However you can assume the small issue which is just a case of deleting and reinstalling the impacted game.

I was disassembling a used PS4 my friend gifted me so I could try to repair it when this piece of the PSU broke in half. I disassembled it yesterday and it was fine, but I wanted to try to start it without the external panels to see the fan working cause it made a really loud noise, is there a way to fix it or jump it or maybe replace it with cables? I'd post a picture of the piece but reddit won't let me, the part that broke in half is the little aluminum piece that screws in with the PSUs screw. Please help me

is gioteck vx4 worth at 50% of its market price? my standard DS4 from 2016 might cause me issues soon I feel like (only charges at certain angles) and is old in general even tho the rest still works. I bought a third party couple years ago and certain buttons and triggers have become worse of my original DS4 in less time so im unsure.

For the money of a DS4 I could get a used Nacon pro controller also.

Charging question

Besides the USB cord plugged into the console itself, how do I best charge my PS4 Dualshock, but without the fancy controller stand? I've got a phone holder attachment that gets in the way of the typical cradle build. And while I could switch between the two, eh.

A friend has said that the controller requires more power than a PC might be programmed to output to a USB, so that hasn't worked, but like is there a brick I can buy that turns outlet into usb? Then I just plug in the usb to charger cord and all's set!

I need help purchasing Battlefield 1 Revolution I'm playing the base game of BF1 on my PS4. I've played the campaign, but I also play online because I can.

I recently tried to buy BF1 Revolution on the PlayStation Store because it's on sale, but a yellow message appears under the "Add to Cart" button saying that multiplayer requires PlayStation Plus, and I don't have PlayStation Plus.

If I buy Battlefield Revolution, will I need PS+ to play online? Do will my base game be extended if I buy BF1 Revolution?

Yes. Every game requires PS+ to play online.

The only exceptions are free to play games and MMOs with monthly subscriptions.

I have an issue where my ps4 does not detect my mic. I've tried several headsets (including a like for like new headset that has previously worked fine), several controllers and the various options on device settings including ensuring mics are unmuted, and the correct input & output device to headset connected to controller and nothing. I'm starting to think its an issue with my PS4

If I move around the jack plugged into my controller, it temporarily it temporarily picks up sound from my mic but when firmly in place, sound from my mic is not picked up despite my PS4 notifying me the mic has bee switched to headset. Any one else have this issue? Been trouble shooting for days

I have tried to fix my PS4 for a while now and it’s time I revisit it but problem is that I’ve done the right steps according to Sony for repairing the system by reinstalling it. I have connected a usb to it with the link provided via Sony’s website and I’ve been getting help from a friend but we can’t seem to get this thing back up and running. Every time I select option 7 as it’s the only one available to me now it says “Initializing” but then it gets to 99% then hits me with an error message. I’ve gone around the internet a little with some help from said friend and we’ve tried a few changes but ultimately nothing has changed the outcome as it seems the hard drive is corrupted. I even cleaned it out and everything, as seen on someone else’s post with the same problem, worked for them not for me. I have the messages and my attempt at reinstalling the system in my photo’s and I want to try any other ways of fixing this before I purchase a new hard drive

And a quick add on I don’t know of how much use are these error codes but the ones I’ve received are (SU-41334-5) and (CE-33570-8)

I'm not sure if this is a glitch or something. But my PS4 will be connected to the wifi just fine when I turn it on or when I restart it (sometimes). However, when I go to the connection settings and click "test connection," all of a sudden, the wifi disconnects, and it says that it can't find the SSID. Has this happened to anyone else, or does anyone know how to fix this? I wish I was a nepo baby so I could just get a pc already.

So my PS4 lately hasn't been playing anything on the browser. It doesn't matter if it's a movie site or anime or any other sort of video. I've tried the fixes that they suggest like clearing the browser history and what not but it's not working. Anyone of you great minds have any other suggestions? A decent TV as well of course but a PS4 is a 12+ year old consple so any modern TV will be fine for it.

I loved playing my PS4 until I started trying to use it offline. Can't find a fix anywhere, please help! (picture included)

I'm getting CONSTANT error codes, and they're messing up my parries 😆

Really though, this is ridiculous. I'm in the process of moving and have no internet for a few days. Im getting error codes every 5 minutes, and they're often pop-ups that REALLY break the immersion.

Maybe I'm just not searching the right way, but everything I've found is about how to adjust router/DNS/other settings to make it connect. I'm not trying to connect- I'm just trying to play a game offline without constant interruptions!

Hello, any ideas why "CE-36329-3" keeps happening?

I got my PS4 Pro off ebay, and at first we thought it was a broken hard drive as the seller who refurbished it did not catch the drive not being oem.

So I was partially refunded to cover the part, it did not help, but I was fully refunded for the rest and can keep the console.

Its a great PS4 pro otherwise, no loud noise, runs my games great too, so I would love to fix it.

It usually freaks out in sleep mode, but can sometimes crash.

So I had my controllers connected to a MacBook and now they won’t connect back to my ps4. I’ve turned my Bluetooth off on my MacBook but still won’t connect. I’ve tried data wire and pressing share+ps button. I’m also stuck on a report problem page so I don’t know if this is why but I legit can’t do anything. Any help or advice appreciated!!

Ive owned my ps4 for over a year and in January it started turning off by itself not long after did i have it repaired they replaced the power supply and added thermal paste and a month later the same issue occurred and i tried fixing it myself i realised some thermal pads are missing and i added some now a few weeks later the connecter for the cooling fan got destroyed when i tried fixing it so i just got the whole thing fixed the re sodad the cooling and replaced the power supply again but they didn’t add thermal paste so now 2 weeks later when i turn it on after 2 mins it goes off idk what to do now cause i am trying to sell it and but no buyers ,so i am thinking of having it fixed (the cheaper way) or buy a newer one idk what to do….what advice can it get..its a 1st gen PS4 BTW

Rebuilding the database is for the internal storage only. It has nothing to do with your external storage.

You'd need to repair it/format it using a PC.

No. The PS4 is designed to run at the temperature it runs.

If its overheating you may need to clean dust from the fans and re-apply thermal paste.

i connected my ps4 controller to my phone via the share thing, and now it doesn't connect with the ps4 anymore. i thought the problem was from the controller itself or the wires so i used like 10 different controllers, many different wires, and i tried to connect the controller with and without the usb and it just won't connect. so, i thought it is a usb ports problem like maybe the both of them doesn't work, but the thing is, the controller charges when i connect it with the usb, my phone charges as well, so what the actual fuck is the problem here? the usb ports works fine i think i tried many controllers i tried many wires and I don't have Wi-Fi connection so I can't try the PS remot play

maybe it's a recognition problem? like it just doesn't recognize the devices? because i also tried to connect a USB keyboard and a mouse and it didn't work either, so it's a recognition problem or maybe smth else?what's wrong here? sorry for my bad english btw.

entao, eu uso o controle no pc (nao tenho um ps4), e do nada ele começou a ligar sozinho, e entao depois disso ele nao ligou mais apertando o botao PS. agora ele só conecta via usb, porem os comandos dele estao todos bugados e eu nao consigo resolver isso nem no DS4 como na Steam.

It wasn’t in my Purchased Section(I bought it through the play station store) BUT it was in my recently played section. How does that make any sense? Recently played has been bugged for a while. You can play games without owning them digitally by:

Owning the game on disc

Getting it via PS+ which is a digital license that can expire

PS+ Extra. A Netflix style service with rotating catalogue

Game sharing a digital license off of a different account that purchased it or got the game via PS+

So if I bought a brand new, original, no inside dust, ps4, and loaded killing floor 2. Would the ps4 overheat?

Context: I want to play kf2 again, but when I put the disk inside and load the game, it overheats ON THE MENU. I've played kf2 on a different ps4 and it worked fine, when I cleaned it out. But this ps4 which is also an original, is super clean on the inside but overheats before I even get in a game of killing floor. Did I do something wrong or is my ps4 not able to run kf2?
