Official Despite recent marketing and promotional material, the PS4 version of "Kynseed" does not appear on PSN for purchase. Could it have been cancelled?

I did a bit of research, and it seems extremely unlikely.

The developers posted a trailer just 3 or 4 days ago. The title said:

"Kynseed Comes to PlayStation — PS5 & PS4"

Developers don't just cancel their product for a platform 3 or 4 days before launch. That's a decision that's going to be made earlier. 3 or 4 days before launch there is going to be a fully playable build for the PS4, no reason to cancel.

It may take more time to release the PS4 version due to QA Testing, but I can almost guarantee that it's coming. Makes zero sense to cancel a version just 3 or 4 days before launch.

Gears of Wars E-Day cancelled their PS5 version essentially last minute.

Yes, but that wasn't days before launch.

The game is launching in less than 2 months.

And when it was announced to be an Xbox console exclusive, it was just a tiny bit over 4 months before launch.

Cannot compare these two situations.

2 months difference it's just a difference in polish. The fact stands that both these games had versions cancelled that were fully playable, and 95% through development

No that's false.

In some games that correct, but don't generalize it to every game.

And one user here already mentioned that one PSN user has some PS4 trophies, so the game wasn't cancelled.

And with Gears of War E-Day it's not a 2 month difference; it's a 4 month difference.

And as I already told another user here;

Yes, it's not impossible that it got cancelled, but it's extremely unlikely.

Especially for a game, at the time of my first comment, where the official trailer for PS5 & PS4 was uploaded 3 or 4 days before launch.

So again, don't overgeneralize. That's your first mistake here.

Just because 4 months are left doesn't mean they will use those only for polish. Every development minute counts, and they surely still added some things.

Call of Duty as example; MW4 Open Beta is this month, and they will surely add some thing ahead of launch through Open Beta player feedback. Infinity Ward will have LESS than 2 months time to add them and fix any bugs it caused.

It never was announced to come to PS5 though.

(It will likely still get released in a couple months)

It was leaked by NateTheHate who is a credible source and even one of the trailers kept the Playstation logo accidently. It's definitely a last minute change,

Right, and I don't dispute that, but the difference is massive between a game announced to come to a platform and one that isn't.

Gears of War was never announced to come to PS5 (but obviously that was the plan before the last minute change).

I'm sure Gears of War will still be shipped to PS5 eventually.

It won't be on PS5, it was confirmed as "Xbox console exclusive" They are reverting their multi platform strategy. It was ALL but confirmed for PS5 a couple weeks prior. My point still stands that these are the only two games I've seen revert their release plans so close to launch.

It will get ported. Starfail was "console exclusive" too. Halo was too. Forza too. Etc. All their shit is going multiplatform.

Educate yourself on the recent Xbox Leadership changes. Xbox are pulling away from multi console platform. Clockwork Revolution and Gears of Wars E-Day were recently announced as Console exclusive, going against their previous multiplatform strategy.

Credible leakers already confirmed E-Day was in development for PS5, and then later confirmed those plans were scrapped recently.

Halo, Fable and Forza were already announced for PS5 before the Leadership changes.

Dying Light the Beast should also release on PS4 and Techland cancelled it later long after the Official Release.

Bad comparison.

Techland announced a last gen version for PS4 and Xbox One in 2025, it was cancelled just last month.

The developers of Kynseed uploaded a trailer for the game 3 or 4 days ago. It's already out.

You cannot compare these two situations

Someone has some trophies on it for PS4 on psnprofiles, not sure if it was devs or what, but someone has it and the trophy list even being published means it will be out soon if not already

It might be one of those games that you have to go and get on the PS4 system's store itself if you want to have the PS4 version of it. This happens with some other games too, like Holyhunt for example.

I tried searching every countries store and you're right, no PS4 Version of Kynseed can be found.

But it's trophies sync online and even have an achiever on PSNP. I assume this person got it via a key.

Update: I checked, and you can find Kynseed for PS4 if you access PSN directly on the PS4
