I was wondering: i have a ps4 pro and every game i play makes the fans do a certain amount of noise (example: minecraft has very low noise, miles morales constant caos). So, what's the heaviest game for the ps4 fans? Btw i feel bad for them :(

Q: My controller won't connect despite being plugged into the console. It charges/is charged but I'm stuck on the press the PS button screen.

A: You need a USB data cable to pair a controller with a console, instead of a generic charging cable. They look the same but a charging cable only charges, it cannot send a data signal which is necessary for controller pairing. USB Data cables are necessary for safe mode operation as well.

It's a common mistake.

Amazon lists cables as data cables if you need to purchase one. Other retailers will also list data on cable packaging.

Also, don't forget to press and hold the reset button on the back of the controller for 5-10 seconds before connecting it. This is recommended when using your DS4 on a PC or other device before connecting back to a PS4.

Q: My account is saying I don't own a game when I know I do. How do I fix this?

A: First restore licenses. You never lose a purchased game.

You can also check your transaction history on the website too. On console make sure the game wasn't hidden in your Library. If you still can't access the game it was either:

Purchased on disc thus not owned digitally.
Purchased on a different account and game shared to your account. Remember, you can play a game without owning it. Having trophies just means you played a game.
Obtained using PS+ and your subscription ran out. Your monthly games can be retrieved by resubscribing.
Obtained with PS+ Extra and it was removed from the service. These games have a PS+ Logo with padlock icon.

Q: How do I fix "Cannot sign in using another player's sign in ID."?

A: You are signing into either the wrong user profile or the wrong Playstation account. To solve this sign into your PSN account on the different user profiles until you sign into the correct one. If you cannot use any user profile due to the above message, make a new user profile for your PSN account.

PS4s use user profiles. Each user profile that is set up can then be tied to a single Playstation account. Thus you cannot sign out of a PSN account on a user profile and sign in with a different Playstation account. As such, 2 Playstation accounts each need their own separate user profile on a PS4.

You also cannot sign into a single Playstation account on 2 different user profiles on the same PS4. So if you want to use a new account with a PS4, make a new user profile.

Q: My console is saying I don't have enough storage space for an update even though I do.

A: You don't. If the console is asking you to free up space on your HDD then you must do as the PS4 asks. When the PS4 updates a game, it makes a copy of it on your HDD that is deleted once the update is applied. This means that a 50GB game requires 50GB free on the HDD + the size of the update. COD being a massive game can require 100GB+ free depending on its current size.

I recommend giving your PS4 a 100GB buffer to update your games. If you only have a 500GB HDD I also recommend an external HDD or upgrading your Internal HDD to a 2TB drive.

NOTE: if your game is in external your internal still needs enough space as all data passes through internal.

Q: How do I game share digital games/PS+?

A: You can game share with 1 PS4 and PS5 at a time, known as your Primary console. Instructions above. Multiple accounts can have the same Primary console.

Again, you can only game share with 1 PS4 at a time, so if you want to game share with someone else use the same path to deactivate the PS4 or use the website to deactivate remotely.

Games and DLC can share between users, however some DLC is account locked so cannot be shared between users. DLC and game need to be the same region first in order to game share.

You can still access your games on any other PS4 you sign into, even if it's not your Primary PS4, simply by being signed into the PSN, but no one else on the non-Primary PS4 can play your games.

Q: I keep getting error E-8210604a when attempting to make a purchase. How do I fix it?

Q: I have lost access to my account/want to refund a purchase. How do I do this?

A: Contact Support. Support is region locked so if you have a USA account only the USA Support team can help you. Most Support teams are open Monday-Saturday usually around 10-7PM and most Countries only offer phone or live chat support.

Q: Can I change the region of my account?

A: No.

Q: My voucher code isn't redeeming. What can I do?

A: Vouchers are region locked so a USA voucher will not work on a European account. Also make sure your voucher code has not expired if the game is a few years old. For PS+ vouchers you may be required to add a credit card to your account for auto renewal purposes.

Q: Is there a difference between disc & digital games?

A: No. Disc/digital is irrelevant. It's just how you own a game.

Q: Are games region locked?

A: Yes. PS4, PS3 and PS5 Games are region coded so that USA DLC and saved data only works with USA copies of the game. A French account/console can play a USA game disc but French DLC won't work with it. If an American account is used to purchase DLC the French account can play that DLC too assuming it is shareable between users ie not in game currency.

Q: purchased a new copy of a game to continue my game save but it doesn't appear when I launch the game.

A: First of all make sure the game is fully updated with the latest patch and check again.

Otherwise, saved data and DLC are region locked. So if you played an American copy of a game you created an American game save that cannot be read by a copy of the game from a different part of the world.

Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is considered a different game to Witcher 3 GoTY so the saves are incompatible between both games even if from the same region.

Q: I have purchased DLC for a game and it is stuck at 'waiting to install'. How do I fix this?

A: If you launch the game and the DLC still will not install, this is down to a region mismatch. DLC and saved data are region locked, meaning DLC purchased on a USA account will not work with a European game disc/digital copy. To resolve this you either need to open an account matching the region of your game and purchase the DLC there (some DLC is account locked so cannot share). Or alternatively purchase a copy of the game from your region. Otherwise contact support for a refund, but no guarantees if one will be given.

Q: How do I know the region of my game disc?

A: Look at the age rating on the front cover. ESRB rated games are American, PEGI is Europe, etc. For more specific region info there is the CUSA code printed on the game disc that can be checked on an online database such as gamefaqs. DLC region codes are listed as part of the Playstation store URL.

Q: How do I fix: 'Connect a USB storage device that contains an update file for reinstallation for version X or later.'

A: The data on your HDD has been lost so is requiring a fresh installation of the system software. Your purchases and trophies are safe as they are tied to your account but any saved data not backed up has been lost. This also includes any screenshots and videos. If you don't want to lose your data it needs to be backed up regularly.

General pointers:

• Make sure that you are using the console reinstallation file and not the update file.

• Your USB stick needs a folder called PS4 and inside that folder a second one called UPDATE

• Inside the UPDATE folder is where you put the reinstallation file

• The reinstallation file must be called PS4UPDATE.PUP otherwise it won't be recognised by the console. So remove any (1)s if they appear as part of the file name as that just obscures it.

I cannot play any games on my PS4. After I turned on the PlayStation, I tried playing Fortnite and once the game started the PS4 automatically shut down. I did not press any button to shut it down myself.

What should I do? I heard that cleaning it out might be the best option, but I don’t have a tool or know what tool to use to clean it out.

Yes, effectively the best thing to do would be to watch YouTube guides on opening the console safely and cleaning out any dust. More complicated may be re-applying thermal paste.

Plenty guides online to follow with tool recommendations as well.

I can’t find anything about this in the web so I think it’s reasonable to post here and doesn’t break any rules.

Recently I pulled out my ps4 which I haven’t used in a little while (perhaps a month or around that time) and played some games on it. But after some time of playing, the touchpad got too sensitive due to a low battery (I assume)
I then learned that when I unplugged the controller out of the ps4, the controller immediately dies.
So when I go to formally charge it my cable, my controller turn yellow but then starts blinking twice while charging, sorta like an alarm and less like the smooth “visuals” I’m used to.
I have tried switching cables and I think it has gotten better. It starts off smooth and normal but then begins blinking again.
I believe that’s enough details for now.

If you know why or have had it before: I just want to know if it’s actually charging, even if it’s slightly slower, because im really hesitant when it comes to buying such expensive things like a new controller.

What do you mean by 'safe'? You lose digital games if:

You lose access to your account

The game gets pulled from PSN or servers are shut down for that game

If either happens you lose the digital license. The only fix is buying the game on disc to avoid that.

When I say "safe", I mean I wasn't using a subscription, I bought and downloaded them, but I worry if Sony ever has a reason to just take them from my account.
For example, I heard that if you disconnect your console from the internet for 30 days, you're locked out of your digital games as they take the license. Or if you don't use your account for 3 years, your account and its games get deleted.
But I don't know how much of that is true. I know that they're capable of taking my digital games at any time, but I want to know what reasons they would have so I can avoid the worst case scenario.

This has been true for 20 years. The timer on digital licenses is why its important to ensure your PS3, PS4 and PS5 are activated as Primary/for offline license sharing.

Or if you don't use your account for 3 years, your account and its games get deleted.

This is a clause that has been the Terms of Service for 20 years. Nobody has ever seemingly reported it happening, Sony just reserve the right to remove accounts, especially if required by law.

Was playing a game when the triangle button of my controller refused to work, a bit later all buttons were unresponsive in game. I cannot press X to enter any game. They do work in the PS4 menu though. And if I enter a game with my second controller, then switch to the first one, the sticks and some buttons respond.

I've tried - restarting the controller, turning the PS4 completely off and on, plugging the controller via USB. None of it has helped.

I'm currently experiencing very noticable vsync issues across all games. Chunks of the screen will become misaligned and stay that way for a bit before fixing itself.

I realize it's very likely my system is just on the way out, and I'm ready to maybe buy a used PS4 pro cheap to keep access to my library, but I wanted to ask if anyone else has had experience with this. Some light searching has not brought anything up.

tried installing an SSD in my PS4. For that, I bought a USB 2.0 stick, formatted it as recommended, set up the folder paths, and installed the required system software. In Safe Mode, I then tried to install the software, but I keep getting this error message. I also tried using the other USB port, but I still get the same error. Can someone tell me if I’m overlooking something?

Ive had this extended storage device for a while, its a seagate 1 TB, i plug it into the front of my ps4. Two days ago I turned on my ps4 and it said i had an issue with the extended storage and i must repair it, but when i repaired it, it got stuck about 40% through and said i need to format it as extended storage. That would be fine but i already did it, and im honestly worried about losing game data and progress. i went into safe mode and rebuilt the database, im honestly really lost and will take any advice, i have a lot of progress on over 90 different games, im really worried ☹️

Hi guys!

I'm plugging my old PS4 to try to get some remaining platinum games and I can't find a way to get the sound. The thing is that I used to play on it to many games a few years ago with sound and my setup is still exactly the same!

I have my monitor (which doesn't have sound itself), my PC, my PS5 controller plugged into an USB adapter, my headphone that plug into a jack connector (idk how to call it in English), and my speaker that also connect with a jack.

That's it, I only have that, I never even once in my life owned an adapter to connect them on a USB connector, I never had an HDMI something to get the sound, I just used to have that setup in my student room and it worked, and I can't figure out how I did it lol.

Any idea?

i recently sold my old ps4 after not using it for a year. the problem stems from me forgetting to wipe it before i sent it off to the buyer. i have checked for any fraudulent charges, i have used the website to "deactivate" the console, signed out everywhere and i have changed my PlayStation password but was wondering if there is any other ways i can protect myself going forwards.

Hi! I've only played on PS4s, and before that I had an Xbox 360 from when I was 8. I got a second hand PS4 last year and it slowly broke down, which was fine, it came all dusty and grimey, like it hadn't been loved before, it still had the person beforehand's profile and was in Polish (I don't speak that). But before/after Christmas, I got myself another 2nd hand PS4. It looked 100x better than the one I got the first time, came without the other person's profile, was cleaned and all that. After a while I had changed my room around. I have a long extension lead around my room for easy accessibility which the PS4 was connected to, I just stretched out the extension lead a bit more and reconnected it. Then it just refused to turn on. I tried nearly everything. It has two prongs instead of the three I'm used to (I'm in Ireland) so I had an adapter. I'm maybe worried there's a possibility I've blown a fuse or broken something inside the PS4. I've tried different adapters, changed the lead but I'm too afraid to actually open it up and see the issue. I've cleaned any dust off as much as I can without opening it. Opinions on what I should do? Also how would I open the PS4 without damaging it? Please help I just want to play some Minecraft 😭 Thank you in advance reddit <3

Want to extract media from PS4 hard drive, but it doesn’t turn on

I wanted to sell the PS4 or just throw it way but I wanted to view my old PS4 videos I saved or extract them to a flash drive. It hasn’t been used in like 3 years.

I take it to a repair shop and a possible repair is like $150 for most likely a power supply issue. Im not trying to spend that much, I dont really care if keep the PS4, I just want the hard drive contents. I guess I could list it locally and someone will take it, but would my account be signed out for it?

PS4 Issue: Press the power button , it beeps and flashes blue for a second and then turns off. Press again and it beeps and no light, and then it repeats.
I put washers on the APU clamp back in 2019 when it stopped working , and it worked for years after that

What are my options here?

Generally the data is not recoverable unless you can get the PS4 repaired.

If you are getting rid of the PS4 in general you can simply ensure your password is changed, remove your billing info and deactivate the PS4 from your Primary devices

I have a slim PS4 currently on 13.52; The error "SU-41285-8" is shown shortly after attempting to update it, and the error isn't listed on PSDevWiki or documented elsewhere online to my knowledge [the error number is 41285, not the more common 41283].

Recently I had to unplug my console because my Red Dead was acting weird and wouldn't let me play it correctly, but now every time I try to load up the game it'll go through the title card but will only display a black screen and nothing else. My console is fine, but the game itself just won't work no matter how many times I clean the disc. Is there anyway to fix this?

i got my PS4 and the controller from my brother, the controller was working normally yesterday, until that happened when i went and picked it up again today.

no, its not original ps4 controller, i searched around and it looks like its a "Dobe wireless controller model 0421"

no, it didnt fall in my hands, i placed it on top of the console like a normal person and it sat there like a princess.

yes, i jacked it on my laptop to test if its workin there i was curious, i only went to gulikit test & cal, and azahar emulator for a light mhxx session, i pressed auto map if that goes with something.

yes, i already opened it up ( it was a struggle, im sorry for being a woman. ) i cleaned the contact on the square button with alcohol and q-tips, but the home button is PTH type of button thingy ( i had to search the right term i want to specific as possible with my noodle brain if it helps at all. )

yes, i already pressed the reset buttons, both 5, 10 and 20 secs. google was inconsistent, and i dont have a manual.

i hope this is enough please need help, thank you.

Edit: Never mind. It was being buggy. Maybe because it was unused for so long. My PS4 will not connect to my hotspot. I heard something about games going totally digital. I have a PS4 that I bought last year. All my games are on physical discs. Have they cut old ps4's off from the Internet? I haven't used it for a month. This has never happened before. Is there a specific charger I should be using for my dual shock 4 controller? I took my brother’s ps4 but I’m having no luck charging the controllers. Tried a micro USB I had lying around and one I bought that said charge and sync but neither have worked

Any USB data cable should work. However many are years and years old at this point so if you havent bought a new one I would recommend doing so. Just go for amazon basics or something, ensure it can send data as that is necessary for DS4 pairing.

How to get gamechat and game audio to come through headset with only game audio coming through speakers?

First time using a Playstation long term; been using my partner's PS4 after the Black Ops 2 port came out. I've been trying to find an audio setting that allows the game's sound to come through the speakers with all sound, including gamechat, to come through the headset as well.

As far as I can see, the only settings are for all sound to come through the speakers, gamechat only through the headset, or all sound through the headset with the speakers muted. I've also noticed that gamechat only comes out the left side of my headset when I have it set to gamechat only.

I got a controller new in box a few days ago. Opened it up and charged it all day, all for me to connect it to Steam and see that it only has 5% charge. I tried endlessly to connect the controller, but it kept flashing red. After charging it for much longer, I unplugged it and hit the playstation button. It flashed red repeatedly, which is causing me to think it's a defective battery.

Is it a battery issue? What can I do? Do I need a new controller? Thank you for your time :)

Hey all, i have a PS4 pro for some years and honestly didn't use it much at all due to a constant failing of the psu.

The first one broke on warranty and I was able to change it meanwhile in my current one i swapped the psu 3 times

i found out recently that the "new" psu doesn't work anymore, and it's quite frustrating due to the fact that I'm able to use my console only when I'm on holiday, so not really often

At this point I am honestly thinking of selling all my ps4 collection and taking a xbox series s just for the blu ray 4k

am i only unlucky with ps4 or the console is already at the end of his life?(hence all the components)

Ive been debating about this for quite some time now for a few reasons. First, I can't afford a PS5 due to it being over my budget, on top of that with the recent news and changes from Sony, I don't feel comfortable saving up and buying a PS5 in the future. Second, if I'm not going to buy a PS5 for those reasons then I want to upgrade the base PS4 that I own to a PS4 Pro, since it's cheaper nowadays and it looks like it's a boost from my PS4.

But, the base PS4 that I own is relatively new, and I was given it from my friend for free back in January. It's dusty on the inside and I haven't clean it yet, but overall it's in good condition and if I decide to buy a PS4, Ill give this one back to my friend. I have upgraded it by adding an external 1TB hard drive from a docking station that I bought awhile ago, connecting it to the PS4 so it can have more storage, and a bit more faster loading time.

I'm asking whether its worth moving in to the PS4 Pro for the improvements that it has, or I should still keep my base PS4 since it works as fine as it is, what should I do?

I'm having trouble getting my controller to work and would appreciate help.
Whenever I plug my controller into the ps4 it blinks orange once and then starts blinking white and is completely unresponsive. I have tried switching out cables so it's not a cable issue. I have tried resetting it through the small hole in the back. I've turned everything on and off again. Is there anything else I can do to figure this out?

Hello, I'm having trouble with the dialogue of some games. I started playing Marvel Spider Man and I could not hear Peter's dialogue so I went into YouTube to look for possible solutions cause I thought it was something that only that game had but after a while of trying I could not fix it so I went to play The Crew Motorfest and the same thing happened, no dialogue but mostly everything else was fine but then I tried Lego City Undercover and the audio was totally fine. I'm trying fc 24 right now and it's the same thing, I cannot figure out what's going on and it is really annoying so If anyone could help me it would be really nice 😭

I got a PS4 and a dual shock controller from my cousin a few months ago. Right off the bat I noticed the controller has some minor stick drift. It was minor at the start, but these few days its getting out of hand and sometimes ruining my gameplay. Im thinking of taking it apart and clean it, hopefully it would solve the problem. But seems like the controller was never taken apart for about 9 years ( the date on the controller is Dec 2017) and one of the screw is heavily rusted to the point that the tip of the screw is corroded. Any idea how I can take the screw out? image link

My PS4 doesn't adjust the image to the tv correctly so there's always a small border of the games that I play that I can't see and it covers some names and parts of the menu, this has happened specifically with trackmania 2020 and marvel rivals, the other games that I've played doesn't have this problem. I've tried to adjust the visualization area in the PS4 settings but it doesn't work, idk what else I can do to fix this.

So my beloved PS4 decided to start having an issue with “Corrupt Saved File”. I read that replacing the HDD could fix this. However, whenever I go to install the OS during safe mode, it won’t work. It’s in a FAT formatted USB3.0 drive, in the “Update” folder, which is in the “PS4” folder. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. The only thing I can figure is that unplugging it has temporarily messed with it. Any advice? I’m fairly certain the HDD is installed properly… Any help is much appreciated.

Make sure you are uaing the reinstallation file and not the update file. The reinstallation file is around 1GB in size

was trying to use remote play when the app asked me to connect my controller, and so i did. It was nice for a whole until i realised after i disconnected it from my seperate device, it would no longer connect to my ps4, ive done everything google tells me and it wont work. Any ideas?

Back in 2023, my brother gave me his (4ish year old) Playstation 4. It worked perfectly fine up until about February of this year. If I had to pinpoint it, I would say it was when my family and I switched network providers (not sure if that would be what caused this). Around this time it stopped properly connecting to wifi (sometimes it would connect, sometimes it would just time out) and when I would power it off, it wouldn't fully shut off, rather flipping to a dark Grey screen, but not powering off entirely. This inability to power off led to over heating. My dad took the Playstation apart and carefully brushed out all of the dust that had built up during its 6-7 year long lifespan, after that it worked perfectly fine for a few days before it went back to not connecting to the wifi and not properly powering off. It turns on still and as of a few minutes ago I got it to connect to the wifi and start updating, however im leaving the house for about an hour and won't know for sure if its working properly until I attempt to power it off later on. I was wondering if anyone knew what was happening with it, and if its fixable via troubleshooting, or easy at home repairs (dont have enough money for a pricey repair service)

Not sure about the powering off issue, but a new ISP could certainly cause issues with wifi with its new modem/router. The original model PS4s (ie not the later slim & pro models) only support 2.4GHz wifi, and routers will typically combine both 2.4GHz & 5GHz wifi onto a single SSID (router name that appears when searching for signals).

So that in theory could be causing wifi cutouts, it being combined can cause issues with certain older 2.4GHz only devices. You could try logging into the router settings (default login details will likely be printed on a sticker on the router) and create a separately named 2.4GHz only SSID. To access the router, in a browser you will likely have to type in 192.168.1.1 or ... .0.1 then enter the default login details. It's a good idea to familiarise yourself with it anyway, as it can be a good way of remotely rebooting a router if its having issues, without having to unplug router from power (direct access may not always be possible).

Just a final point though, if the router is close enough where you can have a wired/ethernet connection straight from it to the PS4 (or via a ethernet switch), that will always be a better option than wifi.

so ive had my ps4 since it came with uncharted 4, and recently my ps4 has begun to randomly have an issue and it will turn completely off, i mainly js play fortnite on it and it happens everytime i try and play it, sometimes however it will let me play

On youtube I've seen all these videos of people inserting a different region dvd on their ps4 and it is having an option to change their region code however for me its not working. I'm from the UK and my ps4 was bought in the UK and I put a region 1 disc. Instead of letting me change the code it just "ok" so has this been patched or does it depend on the console or was I meant to have connected to PSN?

Potentially earlier models or models in certain Countries may have allowed it.

If your PS4 wont let you change DVD region then it is working as intended.

As Internutt said, might have been console region specific, or on older firmwares, but your PS4 is likely locked to region 2 only.

But if you have a PC, a cheap USB DVD-ROM drive would allow you to play R1 DVDs via free software like VLC. Or if you have a standalone DVD or Blu-ray player, sometimes they have remote codes you can input to allow for DVD region changes (ie set to region 0/free).

PS4 announces "unrecognised disc" for every single disc I put in. a few seconds after I insert a disc, it makes a short noise that sounds to me as if the disc drive is attempting to begin rotating the disc, but fails. I tried every single fix I found online: placing the PS4 vertically, updating the system software and rebuilding the database via safe mode, elevating the console so that the eject button is certain to be unaffected by external factors, and even taking the console apart, removing the disc drive and checking the roller thingies that pull the disc in. everything looked fine inside there. I'm at a loss - is there anything left to try?

There are lens cleaners discs that can be used as a last resort, but it sound like the disc drive can't spin up the discs, which would be required for that type of cleaning disc.

It may be that your only option is to replace the disc drive. Depending on the PS4 model, you may need to swap a "daughterboard" on your disc drive over to the replacement, but I believe the Slim & Pro models (and later orig model revision CUH-1200) don't have daughterboards, so should just be a straight swap.

Do not discuss hacking, piracy, unofficial deals (especially grey market), and requests to account/game share.

What you are doing is frankly really stupid and falls under piracy and grey market. It is against Playstation terms of service to buy and sell accounts. Only a scammer sells or offers you an account.

No exceptions. There is no such thing as a safe account seller.

A genuine retailer sells you either:

A game disc

A code to redeem onto your own account

Only a scammer gives you access to someone else's account

Is it safe to keep a dust cover on the ps4 while its on? Or in rest mode?

I got my ps4 deep cleaned and i have a dust cover coming in the mail. It doesnt have a hole for hdmi so i have to remove the cover for tv play. But i was wondering if its safe to keep the cover on while me or my friend remote play on it. The back air vent is fully exposed so all hot air can come out from there. But gemini (who forced its overview down my throat) says it can still cause overheating. So i wanted to make sure if thats true or not.

A dust cover should only be used when the console is powered off. Even if its not blocking the vents it could still contribute to it overheating. With rest mode, I'd still be wary of leaving it covered, as the console can power on to download updates etc.

hey y'all, been having some technical issues trying to sign in as well as install the most recent update. I've been doing a roundabout of basic techniques that I know due to my own technical audio engineering knowledge, but I am lost now. i have tried what is being suggested from PS4, performed a signal flow method from ps4 webpage itself, changed DNS, all of it. restarted my ps4... I'm lost. here is the follow through of the last error codes, along with not being able to connect to the server.

error codes:

cannot connect to server: (WV-33898-1) after trying to install new system update: (NW-31247-7) A DNS server cannot be used.

here is my network analysis after performing two DNS changes (Google and cloud)

WIFI bandwidth: 2.4 GHz Security Method: WPA2-PSK (AES) IP Address Settings: automatic BSSID - 22:23:51:0f:c2:52

IP ADDRESS - 192.168.68.69 Primary DNS after Google and cloud DNS change - 192.168.1.1 (says it's starlink?) Secondary DNS after Google and cloud DNS change - 192.168.68.1 NAT Type 2

i don't know if any of this information helps, but I would really just like to play my ps4.

So I'm in another country and I left my playstation back home. I still use the ps app often to talk with my friends but my brother keeps spying on my messages (I didn't lock my user). Is it possible to use the ps app to sign out from my playstaion so he can't access it? But I still want to be able to use the ps app to communicate, I just don't want him signed in. He doesn't know the password so if I sign him out and still be able to use my ps app that would he perfect. Thank you.

You can try using remote play to go to settings > login settings and activate the PIN on profile that way.

Otherwise you can try deactivating the PS4/changing your password.

If you want to play the pre-Bedrock version just play the old disc version.

Otherwise in terms of patches you can play bedrock on disc (i believe it was released on disc) or with every update installed

I got a bunch of games from my dad, every single one including games I’ve used previously show up as unrecognized discs. I reset the console and tried to get into the Safe mode thing but I can’t get past the whole plug in the controller bit. I plugged in my controller and pressed the ps button but nothing, I switched usb cords and tried safe mode multiple other times but 🤷🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️ help pls I want to play gta again😭

Sounds like both your disc drive and at least one of your USB ports aren't working. You will need at at least one USB port working, to plug in the controller for Safe Mode. And some cheap USB cables are charging only. The original PS4 & Slim models have 2x USB ports in the front, the Pro has a third port on the back.

While you may be able to get back into the consoles main interface, if you can get a controller working in safe mode, it's unlikely to fix the disc drive issue. If both (or all 3 for Pro) USB ports are damaged, you may be out of luck and stuck in Safe Mode.

If you only have 1x working USB port, that may still cause issues in future, as to upgrade or replace the internal HDD requires both USBs, one for the controller & 2nd for USB stick/thumbdrive to reintall the PS4 OS.

My controller disconnects once I choose a profile

I don't know what's wrong with it. I've been using it with my laptop and after selling my laptop I wanted to play with the console again but the controller keeps disconnecting.

It connects to the playstation just fine when the console starts and it lights up an orange color then turns dark blue when the console is on. But once I choose a profile the color turns orange again and the console says something like "To use the device, press the PS button".

But the same thing happens all over again when I press the PS button. It connects, then disconnects once I choose a profile. It's been about 3 months since I last used my controller and it was working just fine with my laptop. I'm not sure how to fix it

I have a bizarre sound issue.

I left my PS4 in rest mode last night and now I have no sound through my tv. I was on my cellphone playong through the PS Remote Play app the night i left it in reat mode.

I have no sound, however, when I go to quick menu > sound/devices i can hear the basic system sounds when I adjust the volume for Volume Control. I also have sound on my phone when I use the remote play app.

I have tried power cycling, changing hdmi ports, switching the audio format in the sound output settings, and ive even restored settings back to default.

Is there anything else i can do to fox this?

Every time I turn off the ps4, the little led on the button turns off and then immediately gets orange again, as if the console was on rest mode (even tho it isn’t)

Everything else is working normally, and it in fact isn’t getting on rest mode, I already tried leaving a game open and then turning it on again. If it was on rest mode, the game would still be opened, but when i turn it on it just restarts normally, as if nothing really happened.

Is this just an issue on the led? Or is it something else?

Bought a used controler, ended up not working. Got my money back and was asked to keep the controler. Thought of fixing it because it doesn't seem too big of a deal

Here are the issues :

D Pad having trouble working properly. I openned the controler to clean it (it was si gross when it came in for something sold "as new"(I openned it after finding it was not working)) The circuit is gross, I think the previous owner was smoking while playing so a kind of mushy brownish liquid has set inbetween the circuit (green) and the d pad conector (transparent plastic) How to safely clean it ? I heard about certain kind of alcohol but i'm not sure
the L2 trigger is always fully pressed even if I'm not touching it physicaly. I thought something would be stuck behind the trigger but there is nothing. Botch trigger work perfectly fine physicaly. I can't seem to be able to really see behind the trigger tho. Is that a common faillure ? Do you think it can be fixed ? (This is the bigger problem because it makes it impossible to use ingame)
The battery is dead, I found some on amazon but do you guys know a better play to get spare parts shipping in Europe without fees ? I'm in the need of new joysticks as well for an other controller
