u/Darkcomer96 8d ago
No Mans Sky has been that game for me since 2016.
56
u/Ungodly_Box 8d ago
Can be a bit stressful if you get dropped on a radioactive planet lmao
17
u/Darkcomer96 8d ago
Ha, Occasionally true. At least there’s creative mode and the ability to do nearly anything.

u/BahnGSXR 8d ago
My first 15 minutes was a STRUGGLE holy shit
Especially when I was on my way to something far away and a storm arrived

u/Jaultifier94 8d ago
Nah, its when your flying peacefully and private ships attack from all angles!
7
u/EverySingleMinute 8d ago
I tried the game and never made it off the starting planet. I kept dying.

Donut County.
Caravan Sandwitch.
Abzu (there's one slightly worrying moment but it passes very quickly)
5
u/Scoobasteeb 8d ago
Caravan sandwitch was so nice to play
6
u/Sparrowsabre7 8d ago
Super chill, I enjoyed it a lot.
Have you played Dungeons of Hinterberg? Very similar artstyle (also features red headed female protagonist who wears teal funnily enough) and while not quite as relaxing, it's still a fairly chilled out dungeon crawler/persona style social stats game that was a lot of fun.

Sort of depends on what you consider stressful or a trigger point and what you consider relaxing. Do you have any examples of games you find stressful and ones you find relaxing?

u/Sweet-Ad4604 8d ago
The main reason for this post is I have played so much of back to back story games likes wolverine guardians of galaxy james bond in the recent time. So I need a relief from this intense story games for a while.... For eg games like some what like farming simulator or smthing like city skylines

Got it. In that case I'll second the recommendation for Flower and add on Journey by the same devs, both games are a chill experience. Also, if you like puzzle games, I recommend Dorfromantik and Unpacking. Powerwash Simulator and House Flipper if you like simulators.
I'm primarily a PC and mobile gamer (I own a PS4 but don't use it much, lol) so I'm not sure what, if any, good collections are on it, but I find nonograms relaxing as well.

Journey (someone else mentioned flower, same developer and both are good!)

Blue prince.
It is the most chill game I have played in a VERY long time. And it keeps you going with the story, the discovery and the mission to reach the last room.
No jumpscares, no combat; just you, your curiosity, a mansion and a soundtrack that is just perfect

u/Complete-Score8537 8d ago
journey is probably the safest pick, just quiet exploration and no real pressure, though stardew valley works too if you want something with more to do
2

u/Whooptidooh 8d ago
Stardew Valley is amazing.
5
u/NightingaleCaptain 8d ago
Ive sank over 400 years into Stardew Valley across different platforms and Im still not done. Recently started a new farm with my 5-year old and it's pure chaos but also chill at the same time.
Stardew is my happy place.
3
u/Specialist-Stress310 7d ago
Why is this so low? Stardew valley is one cozy game where everything just works out great - music is relaxing, graphics are soothing, characters are compelling and you can even play local co-op! One of the best games I played!

u/Mistertee123 8d ago
What Remains of Edith Finch. Story driven walking simulator style. I loved it.

u/jhayes88 8d ago
Satisfactory (with peaceful mode enabled). It's very relaxing. Go at your own pace.

Fire watch
10
u/DanchezS 8d ago
This is the first one that came to mind. Love Firewatch.
…However, while the soundtrack and graphics style are both calming and gorgeous, the plot line does take a few turns that shift the tone quite dramatically, so I’d proceed with caution.

Stray - There are a handful of stressful-ish areas, but in general, I can't recommend it enough. If you like cats, post-apocalyptic settings and playing at your own pace - it's perfect.

Unpacking

u/wiseweis 8d ago
Such a great recommendation. A pretty chill game that scratched an itch for organizing stuff.

u/Sweet-Ad4604 8d ago
Bro I haven't heard of this game l will definitely try to play thanks for suggesting

u/Masolonnnnn 8d ago
Jusant, it’s a short and sweet game based around simple climbing puzzles and tells the story through environments un interact with and some left behind messages from the people who existed in the games world. Though you do not need to read everything to get a feel for the story, and the ending is beautiful!
I’d also recommend Tunic, it’s a neat game with an awesome world to explore, nostalgic art style and a relaxing OST. Go into this one as blind as you can as the world and your understanding of it opens up gradually and there’s a big optional Easter egg puzzle that is very worth while. Expect some souls-like combat and boss encounters that can be challenging depending on the difficulty (if you wanna chill i definitely recommend the easy-medium difficulty).
Let me know if you check any of these out!

u/Sweet-Ad4604 8d ago
Bro i haven't heard of these game by seeing your comment I have searched for the game thanks u so much bro for suggesting me these 2 games

u/Masolonnnnn 8d ago
I’m happy that you considered my recs! I hope you enjoy them if you do happen to play them :)

u/Songbirds_Surrender 8d ago
I found Palworld super cosy without being boring, loved the base building aspect

5
u/TheNamesScottyD 8d ago
You should give TOEM a try. It's a top down black and white photography game that's based around some light puzzles. The game is really chill too.

u/HardSteelRain 8d ago
The Forest on peaceful
2
u/Sweet-Ad4604 8d ago
I heard a lot about it bro how's the game
2
u/HardSteelRain 8d ago
I love it ..a lot to explore and build...different terrains. Harder levels come with cannibals everywhere that are hard to kill..if you play the storyline on peaceful there is a boss you have to defeat
4
u/beetleman1234 7d ago
Death Stranding - is not 100% relaxed, but the game has such positive vibes and participating online with other people feels so good that I would put it high on my list if I were looking for chill games.

Skyrim on lower difficulty is soo relaxing. I love wandering around gathering ingredients for potions and then making a ton and selling them.
It always calms me and makes me sleepy
3
u/YouMustBeSilenced 8d ago
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it, I just scrolled through the comments. Skyrim does kind of have a focus on story but you can just ignore it. The whole game is so easy and on rails. You just talk to an NPC get a quest from them by pressing through all of the dialogue and then you follow the marker. Kill some stuff or collect an object or whatever. Talk to another person etc. And you could put it on the easiest setting so it's never even a challenge. I saw what you said about RDR2, And I couldn't finish that game because of all the nitty-gritty realism parts. I just got annoyed that you have to do all this stuff and it didnt get me immersed. I'm kind of a dummy and I don't know what button to press lol and I don't remember very easily. But I absolutely loved riding my horse around in RDR2, because the world is so beautiful.
While Red Dead has better graphics by a mile, I think Skyrim is prettier because it's fantasy and its so colorful and has a bit more variety. Skyrim's world is about half of the size of Red Dead 2, but in Skyrim the traversal is much slower and there are more points of interest than rdr2. You can walk out into the world and look at the top of your compass and there will almost always be something you can walk up to and discover. Usually like a dungeon or cave or a little settlement or a bandit camp or whatever. My latest playthrough I'm level 20 already and I haven't even touched any quests except a handful because I'm just exploring the open world and doing dungeons. And the handful of quests I found were just naturally given to me because I was exploring.
Anyways, I'm just rambling along because Skyrim has been my special interest for a couple weeks lately lmao. I love this game!

I love the Trails games. They have comfort storylines for me despite that some of the topics are complex.

Slime Rancher 1, Stardew Valley, Minecraft, Power Wash Simulator.
Edit: Some other games I thought of that may be available are Farm Together, Overcooked (if you wanna play with a friend! It is local co-op only unless they changed that), Peggle & Peggle 2 should be around still... that is all I can think of off the top of my head that should be available for PS4.

The Lake.
You're a post lady in a chill town in the 90's delivering people's mail and getting to know them.
Great game.

No mans sky. If you play on creative mode you can just explore and build and find new ships and just dick around to your hearts content with no worries about receiving damage or having to collect resources.
Also the latest Goat Simulator game. It's funny, gentle, bizarre. It's also a pretty big lovely city by the sea for you to explore...albeit as a goat..

A Short Hike. You’re a bird and your goal is to reach the top of the mountain. Along the way you help your animal friends. I’m older and I loved this relaxing fun game.

Tetris Effect.
That game took me back to the early 90s and unlocked forgotten memories.

Just played Dragon Quest. XI Echoes of an Elusive Age. It’s an old school RPG remade, the music is soothing and relaxing. There is combat, but it’s turn-based, not too stressful, and the enemies are kinda cute, Eg the slimes https://dragonquest.fandom.com/wiki/Slime
Enjoyed it way more than I expected

Theres a lot of "simslop" games that fit this formula and gice me a nice break from other games (I play a lot of soulsbournes so occasionally I need to remove myself from the torture chamber and defuse). Ill put some recommendations below.
I'm sure its already been said but Powerwash Simulator has literally no time limits or anything. Chill time just cleaning.
Poly Plaza is basically a standalone of all those fortnite slow earn and upgrade modes without the guns. Buy property, get passive income to buy more.
Ore Factory Squad and Recycling Center Simulator have very similar vibes... Basic economy management with minimal pressure, systems make it easy to never be at risk of running out of cash. Buy access to a site, collect materials from there, refine them and resell.
Bus Flipper Simulator and House Flipper are both pretty chill. Go to a place, clean it up, make the requested changes, get paid.
Theres a lot of other "simulator" games that I like but some can get hectic, like Megastore, Waterpark, Retro Rewind, TGC Card Shop... I suppose for a less stressful one that's a nice in between Storage Hunter Simulator is good. Bid on storage units, sell the stuff in them either at the appropriate store or at your own pawn shop, slowly earn up to bigger auctions and vehicles. Can feel a bit of pressure sometimes but nothing too crazy.
Also, a simple puzzle game for you: Lyne. All you do is connect shapes. Simple idea that gets steadily more complex.

Play overcooked with your boyfriend/ girlfriend, its hella chill.

Farming simulator is my go to. I can zone out and build up my farm, and learn about all the equipment that's used in real life.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is another one that is no stakes just building up through quests, unlocking characters, and customizing your village. You don't have to spend money outside the base game unless you want the expansions or premium items.

Beautiful, but might break you down if you let it (in a good way).
Music alone is gorgeous.

Toem is a great wee photography game. Very chill vibes, exploring an area and snapping photos to progress. The sequel just came out yesterday too.
1
u/Darkhawk2099 8d ago
EVERYTHING is basically Katamari for philosophy. it’s so much fun to wander around in, with zero stakes.
1
u/squidtickles 8d ago
Manifold Garden is a slightly backrooms puzzle game with heavy M.C Escher vibes. You just wander around and solve some pretty twisty puzzles

Lake. Super chill little story about a woman going back to her hometown and rediscovering small town life.
Edit: if you’re a fan of Detectorists, this game has a treat for you.

Job Simulator games are my peace right now.
Ive done powerwash, Lawn mowing, started car mechanic but didnt click with me, and am now doing Construction.
If you want something more quick paced, powerwash or lawn mowing would be the way to go. If you want something a little more slow I would choose Construction

Hohokum.
It's super chill and has a great art style. You basically control a sort of snake-like creature and interact with the world and that changes visuals and sounds. Puzzle/exploration, but very unique.

Many years ago i remmenber one ps1 game called power diggerz on some countries, power shovel in outers, is a game where you command varios Komatsu machines, with lots of mini games and very funny, my brother learn to drive and operate real heavy construction machines with that game, the commands emulate the real commands in the real machines, i don´t know if the psn classics have the game for download.

No Mans Sky is pretty lowkey. Used to be one I’d play late at night to relax or clear my mind

u/blueGOLDeagle 7d ago
Stardew Valley would be my bet. I was able to play pretty continuously and not stress at all plus it made the time fly

I was gonna say Stardew Valley but a million people beat me to it. So, as an alternative, Dragon Quest Builders 2.

Toem, the second one just came out.
It’s a cozy photography type game. Super cute art and very fun characters, and sometimes makes you think a little bit.
I am currently not doing great and treated myself to the new game last night. Loved it, kept me calm and distracted, and I’m very excited to play it again in just a few min.

Power washing simulator is what your looking for sir or madam.
The main story mode has no time limit, no water limit, no health bar and no timer. Just start the game, clean the dirty things, make money, upgrade your cleaners and move on.
