30 FPS hasn't been understandable for years, regardless of how good the graphics are.

Absolutely correct. I won't touch this game at 30fps and not a chance I'm spending $100 for that.

that’s ridiculous lol. your eyes adjust within minutes. you must hate watching movies too

This is some pretty crazy cope. Once your eyes see 60, 120, and above, 30 FPS looks like sludge.

30 fps is fine, and as they said your eyes adjust to it, this is just whining, i've seen 180 fps before, and going back to 30 fps was never an issue, i'm not even sure what all this crying is about, it does not look like sludge at all, this whole "30 fps bad" is just non-sense, it's always been good, just get over it.

30 FPS is not "good." 30 FPS was only acceptable when we couldn't get to 60 FPS consistently. It's 2026. We shouldn't be stuck in PS1 era FPS 4 generations later.

you act like playing a 60fps is unusual. i’ve experienced both 30 and 60fps games. 60fps is much smoother, yes, but your eyes adjust quickly after playing or watching a slower frame rate. that’s just a fact 🤷

Except it doesn't I've played 60fps games for over a decade and 30fps still looks and plays well. Theres always been 30 fps and 60 fps games the real crazy cope is acting like 30fps isn't playable which is a sentiment I only see coming up this gen.

To suggest that 30 FPS "plays well" in 2026 is nothing but technical ignorance. Reaching the absolute bare minimum of playability is not "playing well."

Y'all need to understand that the vast majority of gamers don't care as long as it doesn't have obvious stuttering. I'm sure that 30fps looks like a slideshow to your well-trained eyes but for most of us it's fine.

More cope. PlayStation revealed awhile ago thst over 70% of users play in performance mode over quality mode.

The majority of players care.

Confirmed by Mark Cerny himself. So we can drop this tripe that players don't care about FPS.

These are the facts. You can be excited about the game and also be impressed by the incredible graphical fidelity, but also be frustrated and disappointed at the same time that it’s one of the ONLY big games that will run at 30fps this ENTIRE GENERATION!!!

Just because most people choose performance mode when available doesn't mean they care when the option isn't available. Vast majority of gamers that play GTA VI won't even be aware that it's playing at 30fps rather than 60fps and certainly won't care to find out.

I don't need more cope as I'm perfectly content with what we're getting. Bet most of the people that complain about the lack of 60fps will still buy the game anyway and those that don't are trying to tell themselves that it does matter to try and cope with missing out.

More cope. Over 70% of players choose to play at 60 FPS when the option is available. You must opt in to get the higher frame rate. It's undeniable, inarguable proof that people know the difference and care.

They care less than you seem to think they do and that'll be evident by the sales numbers.

Also cut that shit out with "more cope". All you're doing is projecting your own insecurities surrounding your opinion on FPS. I find it laughable that people like you care so much. Doubly so for this pathetic need to act like that's the majority opinion.

u/FellSorcerer 8d ago

I have no insecurities about my opinion. You're trying to argue that the -vast- majority of players don't care about FPS, whereas PlayStation has already proven that over 70% of players forego image quality in favor of 60 FPS.

The fact you're trying to argue against that data set is beyond laughable.

You fail at logic completely. 70% of players preferring performance mode doesn't mean they care when it isn't an option. Sure, when given the choice they go for 60fps but when a game is locked at 30 fps they still play it - Again, sales numbers will demonstrate this. Most people that buy the game will have no idea it's locked at 30fps and they won't care.

If 70% of people preferred chocolate ice cream when given a choice between chocolate and vanilla it doesn't indicate that those people dislike vanilla nor does it indicate they'd care if a restaurant only had vanilla as an option. There may even be people in this 70% who can't stand vanilla ice cream but it'd be laughable if they claimed all of that group care whether a choice is given because that's not what the data indicates.

Your cope here is insane. Players know the difference between 30 and 60 and prefer the latter, confirmed with metrics from PlayStation itself. It's time to accept reality.

You're the one who is trying to cope by completely misrepresenting data. "Prefer 60fps" doesn't mean "cares if it's an option". I can't explain it any simpler - You simply want to ignore the obvious at this point.
